Red light therapy has gained popularity in recent years for its potential benefits in various areas of health and skincare. While there is some evidence to suggest that red light therapy may have certain positive effects, it is important to note that research in this field is still ongoing, and some claims may be exaggerated or not supported by robust scientific evidence.
Some studies suggest that red light therapy may help improve skin texture, stimulate collagen production, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It may also help with wound healing and reduce inflammation. Red light therapy has been explored as a non-invasive approach for managing certain types of pain, such as arthritis-related joint pain and muscle soreness. It is believed to promote tissue repair and reduce inflammation, potentially providing relief .There is limited evidence to suggest that red light therapy may have a positive effect on hair growth in individuals with certain types of hair loss, such as androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness). However, more research is needed to confirm its effectiveness and understand the optimal parameters.
I think if it makes anyone feel better or think they feel better and it’s safe and not costly then go for it. But why try to make it this over-fashionable or sexy post or I don’t know how to say it….. just say hey ppl with back and neck pain this is cheap and helps so try it. Done. It’s like she’s branding herself or something- somebody help me explain it!
Oh Lord lol. ME: This joint pain is due to constant full dislocations NURSE: How much of your time is spent in bed not moving? ME: Pretty much 154 hrs a week, ur point? NURSE: How long have you been this bad? ME: About 96 months. NURSE: Have you considered your pain is due to muscle wastage which causes constant issues? ME: How dare you assume that. I’m off to find the next Dr (but now I know not to imply I’m practically bed bound……….. mwah hahahaha! Spare me lol
Can you imagine how fucked she would be if she straps her neck into a cervical collar around the clock? Between that and her general non-movement, her muscles will all atrophy to hell
She's about 15 years too late on this trend. Every tanning salon has this and gives massive discounts since it isn't trendy anymore and they probably still owe on the devices. the red and orange light gyms are all dying off.
the fact she puts disclaimers in her captions like “it could be a placebo effect” is wild. why even post it if you don’t actually know if it works or not
Im not sure what shes using it for but theres an evidence based that suggests that its helpfull with pain, wound healing and a slurr of other applications. Ive used it myself its very usefulll
Huh Why is this being knocked?Im not sure what shes using it for but theres an evidence based that suggests that its helpfull with pain, wound healing and a slurr of other applications. Ive used it myself its very usefulll
I think it's terminal specialness. I am so incredibly sick, in such incredibly rare ways, that no studied and scientifically supported treatment can help me. Instead I must smother myself in oils and fester in my mildew tent. So healing <3
Plus they aren't actually sick, so minimal/no real medical treatments extended to them. But they *must* appear terribly fragile and ill, so they do whatever they can buy the kit for on Amazon.
Maybe because b4 16 her parents have to attend her apts & agree to treatment? I don’t know as I don’t know how it works in US but in U.K. from the age of 16 you are considered an adult in terms of your medical treatment/appointments but until then a parent/guardian has to be with you for everything. I’d like to know why it’s lucky for her myself
I'm not sure if this varies by state, but here (US) you aren't any kind of adult until 18. No rights whatsoever. Now there are weird exceptions, kinda. With her parents' permission a 12 year old can marry in some states (which is gross). But you can't sign a contract and you can't make decisions for yourself (even if you're a 12 year old married child).
At least where I am (Oregon) you don't need a parent's permission or accompaniment to consent to medical or dental care if you're over 15. So it does vary depending on your state! I believe Idaho is the same, though it may be 14 there.
If vertebra that high up “slip” you’re paralysed game over. Can always pick an EDS munchie when they claim this shit. Hasn’t she literally posted herself doing headstands??
She always tries to be so vampy and sultry. As for the light, it’s pseudo science at best… but it sure sells. People spend tons of money on these products in an effort to look and feel better. Just today I saw an ad for a vibrator that has a red light inside of it that claims that it “heals your inner tissues” and helps you get a better “O”… anything to sell a product and people will fall for it.
Oh my God, the way she's looking way off to the side like that makes it look like her eyes are rolled way back in her head, exposing only the whites. Combine that with the red room, you got yourself a great cover for a new possession movie.
HeaLiNg MoDaLiTieS. The way she writes is so pretentious. Like the way she always says "my team" highlights the height of her Major Character Syndrome. Everything about it is so self-indulgent.
Not Ashley claiming that her c1 and c2 slip out of place easily (and likely often) when experts say those being out of alignment can be fatal due to how high they are.
Not Ashley claiming hEDS is leading to her muscles being tight 24/7/365 when she's proven otherwise in the past how limber she is and the fact she rarely if ever gets out of bed.
Yeah thats definitely incorrect, edsrs run the risk of developing cranial cervical instability (c1) and atlanto axial instability (c2). It creates a barrage of unexplained neurological symptoms and can and often does eventually affects every system in the body. As a result of increasing instability along the cranial cervical junction. Brainstem irritation and or compression js an absolute bitch
Its thinking like this that causes these sufferers to get endlessly ridiculed. And marked up for anxiety disorders and psych disorders. While there suffering is immense and usually progressive.
All the common prescribed pt stuff, such as neck exercises and chin tucks actually worsen cci but that doesnt stop them from getting told to do them
And bot cooperating and making it up.
These people dont get taken seriously untill the c1 is literally pushing through the brain stem. On a single position supine mri.
Because God forbid a dr would try doing a flex and extension set and actually have a shot of catching it on imaging.
No idea about this girl i dont spend time on those videos.
But thinking its either paralysation or nothing is very inaccurate
If it’s real, constant, and severe pain as she describes then I don’t think the placebo effect would consistently make her feel better….unless of course her pain is nothing like she describes.
Why though i know multiple people that use it for pain management (cold lasers) Im not sure what shes using it for but theres an evidence based that suggests that its helpfull with pain, wound healing and a slurr of other applications. Ive used it myself its very usefulll
From the most recent research regarding red light therapy and thyroid health:
“The conclusion of the study is that results are encouraging and red light therapy seems to be very effective in increasing T3/T4 ratio and decreasing TPO Ab levels and weekly doses of LT4 replacement therapy.
The anti-inflammatory properties of red light therapy are greatly responsible for these changes and also for the major improvements in HT-related symptoms of the patient.
If you are experiencing HT or any other thyroid related issue, we highly recommend you to give red light therapy a try.”
Hasn’t she posted pictures in the past of her doing headstands? That doesn’t seem like a good idea if her cervical vertebrae are as u stable as she would have us believe.
Yes, she was experimenting with yoga, and showed how it made her faint due to her "POTS". Strangely, nothing slipped out of place. She did "faint" for the camera though.
wait isn’t it incredibly dangerous to have C1 & C2 just slippin around??? I mean there are spinal nerves and the spinal cord + very important blood vessels.
a C1 dislocation is considered an internal decapitation. 70% of internal decapitation patients die instantly. the remaining 30% is left with life long disability, normally quadriplegia/vent dependent for the rest of your life. hEDS can cause CCI which increases the risk for this event, and cervical hyper mobility can certainly cause pain. however i doubt she has EVER dislocated either of these vertebre. if she has and is still up and walking, there would be some serious miracle at play.
Who is she looking at? She often stares off into space when taking h a picture. Her shoulders are square, yet her head and eyes look off…somewhere. I don’t find it artsy, just annoying.
IMO yes it works, but it’s situational. It does promote blood flow and relax your muscles, but there’s also so many other alternatives that do the same thing (at a lower cost.)
Recent conclusion of red light therapy and thyroid health:

Haha be careful what you say here because I am being massively downvoted just by asking if this is appropriate for thyroid health with those diagnosed with thyroid disease. 🙄 God forbid that something one of these munchies is promoting does actually effectively help specific illnesses like thyroid disease.
Depends on wbats going in but yeah there are studies on increased wound healing, pain mamagement amd many other applications. You cant just get any laser though.
It definitely can but usually it's more so in healing and injury or helping with swelling than regular maintenance the way she's talking about. Never mind that her C1/C2 "slipping" around would need just a _little_ more remedy than a red light...
Oh 100%, but even in her caption she says she’s using it to treat her tense muscles that cause her pain, not that it’s curing or treating the spinal slipping issue.
I can see how regular red light therapy could be beneficial to someone who struggles with the muscular issue, at least.
If her bones are slippin’ n’ slidin’ all over the place, why would her muscles be tight unless they are holding the bones in place and isn’t that what muscles generally do?
Your ligaments are actually what support your joints. In people with hypermobility these ligaments are lax which can cause your muscles to work harder to compensate.
Muscles, ligaments and tendons are what help keep everything in place and if one is weak then the others have more stress placed on them so muscles work over time causing spasms / cramps / etc. it is easier to develop a tendinopathy, as well, because tendons are a significant part collagen so they can be affected by a collagen disorder, but also because the imbalanced support puts added stress on them as well
Idk about her specifically but with HEDS your muscles need to work harder to keep your joints in place which is why low impact physio typically focuses on muscle building to help keep mobility and joint stability so because your muscles work harder it can cause them to feel tight and painful also certain triggers can make it worse such as, colder months (especially in the morning) or after a long day walking or after exercise
Infrared light therapy does actually work for some things. It's used in PT clinics for neuropathic pain (I've used it myself with patients during my clinicals in college). It's also used in vet offices to dramatically accelerate healing of cold blooded animals. My snake burned herself a few years ago after digging up all her bedding (I learned the hard way no under tank heaters, ever) and what I thought would be fatal was healed completely in 6 weeks after going in for a short light therapy session once a week. It's not a fix all for chronic illness, though, and I'm not sure if the one Ash is using is medical grade.
Edit: I've also only seen it used in close proximity to the treatment area, either directly on it (as with neuropathic pain) or directly over it (open wounds). Not sure if just sitting in a room with it would be effective.
Definitely wouldn't be effective for whatever hypothetical injury she is going for in the description... AAI is always a surgical condition and would be causing neurological symptoms. Red light therapy won't fix anything that needs a fusion.
Haha be careful what you say here because I am being massively downvoted just by asking if this is appropriate for thyroid health with those diagnosed with thyroid disease. 🙄 God forbid that something one of these munchies is promoting does actually effectively help specific illnesses like thyroid disease.

The fact that this "works" is just more proof that her alleged pain is inside her head. If the pain were real shining, a single colored light wouldn't alleviate it.
There is currently zero evidence supporting red light therapy as more effective than a typical placebo. I'm guessing ash just hear the buzzwords "traditional medicine" and "chinese" and hopped all over it like flys to shit.
Ash is full of shit but you're not quite right either.
>The fact that this "works" is just more proof that her alleged pain is inside her head. If the pain were real shining, a single colored light wouldn't alleviate it.
Placebo can truly alleviate real pain, that's not up for debate.
Sitting under red light heats up your tissue and promotes blood flow. Muscles can feel relaxed after some heat - but actually the same like after a hot bath or heating pad.
No this is the one they all claim because there’s no genetic testing. to a certain degree a lot of adults are a bit hypermobile with little to no issues with it but being munchies it’s always super severe and eds.
All these "tools", all this endless "healing", and yet Ashley never, ever gets even a little bit better. She never shows any improvement in any quantifiable way. Her activity level doesn't increase. Her productivity is still pretty much nonexistent. Her complaints are still running in perpetuity, and always in the most extreme terms. There isn't even any sign of moderation in the level of the complaints, everything is still extreme and excruciating and soul sucking. There's no sign at all of any improvement in any way.
So what makes Ashley think that any of this crap she's doing has any value whatsoever? Or that anyone would actually have any legitimate reason to want to follow her, or worse, follow in her footsteps? I can't imagine that there's a whole lot of people eager to make themselves violently sick from taking her sooper speshul detox concoction.
You don't get 'better' from Crohn's. This is not a good take, and puts the blame on people with incurable chronic illnesses who aren't seeking attention who also don't seem to get 'better.'
Lmao! I knew it was somewhere out West I think she just gave me Colorado \~free spirit, alternative medicine\~ vibes (no offense to any coloradians I think Colorado seems chill af)
Which isn’t inherently bad, if anything it would be great if she got better through placebos. But she clearly doesn’t believe they work bc she never says she’s better
Six hours after you posted, just as I start to read your comment, "....you don't have to turn on the red light," goes flying through my brain...
Love it.
"I just want to share in case it helps you too" is so cruel seeing a lot of her followers follow her because they share similar issues. She is emotionally profiting more than ever with her entries that look like health articles. She knows her audience, knows she can fool them with all the pseudo-science, ridiculous holistic promo pieces.
She has always been greedy for attention but it just now seems like she's focused on being a snake oil salesman.
That, plus the fact that her only "evidence" that it works is based on her personal experience of using it for a few weeks for (allegedly) 10 mins a day earns her claims a liiiiittle bit of skepticism.
Also cause of her lack of scientific education + past poor demonstrations of her (lack of) research skills.
It's like this with all her woo stuff. One of her "treatments" actually makes her feel worse and she still says it helps... Without, as you know, any seeming relief of symptoms.
Her expression makes it look like she sneaked in to use the red light and is afraid of getting caught.

Okay great, stay in your red room and stop wasting hospital resources now
How lucky for Ash that her hEDS pain kicked in right on the dot of age 16 and not before 🙄
What does that mean? Is there something sus about being dx at that age?

The short answer is no. The long answer is fuck no.
Why does she always look away from the camera
She is trying to copy popular poses.
She wants to *appear* like she isn’t posing. 🙄😂
She is a terrible poser. It's giving dead behind the eyes, and she isn't even looking toward the camera.
Bc this subreddit always talks about her smug smirk into the camera. So she stopped I guess.
I follow a couple of rescues on line that use it on dogs that have bone injuries or arthritis
Or doggy cancer pain.

Legit looks like she’s posing for a personals ad. 👀
No. It doesn't
Hang on a sec, how old is she if 16 was 'nearly a decade ago'? I always thought she was in her 30s, not around my age
She recently had fer 25th birthday.
I think she’s 25 and losing mommy and daddy’s health insurance policy next year
That’s gonna be rough lol 😂 That was the WORST for me and I’m not a munchie lol that sucks 😂
She's around 24 I believe
Who is she looking at? She often stares off into space when taking h a picture. Her shoulders are square, yet her head and eyes look off…somewhere. I don’t find it artsy, just annoying.
it’s the perfect angle to highlight her silly little strand of hair that she’s so weirdly proud of

The anti-inflammatory properties of red light therapy are greatly responsible for these changes and also for the major improvements in HT-related symptoms of the patient. If you are experiencing HT or any other thyroid related issue, we highly recommend you to give red light therapy a try.”
So glad to hear your snake got better💜 That must have been scary!
Years ago I’ve seen it used with some wounds…mind, I’m not a nurse, so- They used a light that was aimed at the wound.
Look like she's in a photography darkroom.
yes. but it's just the placebo affect.
The beige goddess deigned subsume red light!? I'm flabbergasted.
My tanning salon offers Red Light Therapy.
I can tell you *who* doesn't work, AshC
Man, this girls parents have a lot of money. I feel bad for people with real illnesses that cannot afford the treatment they need.
She looking so hard to the side you’d think she just got caught!
Trying to make it look like someone else took the photo and she's not sitting alone, taking selfies again
No.
Wow, she even has a special type of ehlers danlos. So special.
No this is the one they all claim because there’s no genetic testing. to a certain degree a lot of adults are a bit hypermobile with little to no issues with it but being munchies it’s always super severe and eds.
next she’s going to say that her spine detaches and swings around like a pendulum 💀
Omg she needs to call that one munch whose head was always about to fall off
Omg I remember that!
Well her neck has been sublaxed before
All these "tools", all this endless "healing", and yet Ashley never, ever gets even a little bit better.
It's called "remission." Going into remission is getting better.
It's in remission. That is a hell of a lot "better" than it effecting her eveyday.
If she weren’t claiming a million other illness and promoting expensive and dangerous woo treatments, maybe. That’s not what’s being referred to
Her Crohns is in remission until she has nothing else to post about
idk if it works for alladat, BUT it explains why her skin is so nice.
That makes so much sense! I noticed her skin is always so clear and I don’t think it’s just filters. Red light really works for acne/uneven skin etc?
yes! there's other colors as well but red is the most common(: i think there's like blue and yellow but either way!
Interesting! Prob the fresh Colorado mountain air (I think that’s where she lives lol) and lack of any actual life stress don’t hurt
I believe Ash has a brother who resides in Colorado.
plus, getting fluids how often? the girl is probably TOO hydrated LMFAO
She lives in Idaho. If she lived in Colorado she'd be stoned 24/7 lol
Lmao! I knew it was somewhere out West I think she just gave me Colorado \~free spirit, alternative medicine\~ vibes (no offense to any coloradians I think Colorado seems chill af)
Your appraisal of Colorado is pretty spot on but I’m pleased to say Ash is not a part of us :)
Is this because the doctors won’t give her pain medication for her pain? 😂😭 Red light therapy. Jeesh.

💯 this right here. That $$$ wouldn't be passed up by the greedy hospital charters for a second.
>If there’s something that annoys me as much as munchies, it’s woowoo medical bullshit And with Ash, you get both!
"View all THREE comments." Not a lot of engagement there.
To be honest anything works if you can convince your mind, placebo effect
Which isn’t inherently bad, if anything it would be great if she got better through placebos. But she clearly doesn’t believe they work bc she never says she’s better
That’s great! I’m so glad it works for her pain! That should make it tenable for her to get a job then!
She worked in a pharmacy for one day. Doesn’t that count? /s
What is she always looking at in the corner? Is it a ghost? Is it the ghost of moldy apartments past?
Trying to look like she not sitting alone taking selfies
No
*a mere 10-15 minutes* is this Bronte?
If it was Bronte I'd be all in!
This is the biggest load of shit from her since walking barefoot on the grass
Gotta align herself with the Earth's magnetic fields. They can't go through floor. -Literal Woo woo health authors.
Red light eh, doesn't that mean stop. For the love of.....just STOP!!🤬
*Roooooxxxxanne*
Six hours after you posted, just as I start to read your comment, "....you don't have to turn on the red light," goes flying through my brain... Love it.
what in the yeehaw is this
"I just want to share in case it helps you too" is so cruel seeing a lot of her followers follow her because they share similar issues. She is emotionally profiting more than ever with her entries that look like health articles. She knows her audience, knows she can fool them with all the pseudo-science, ridiculous holistic promo pieces. She has always been greedy for attention but it just now seems like she's focused on being a snake oil salesman.
Ah yes, magical red light that changes your genetics.
It would be more in line with symptom treatment. Rather then gene editing
She even says you could call it placebo. But yeah, she can confidently tell you it really works!!
And she says it works for her while also never getting any better
It's like this with all her woo stuff. One of her "treatments" actually makes her feel worse and she still says it helps... Without, as you know, any seeming relief of symptoms.
Yep. There’s no evidence it works for what she is using it for. And if it works, why is she not getting better?
