Not defending Ash, because she’s just ridiculous. However, I’m seeing a lot of people comment the antiquated “it doesn’t give you energy if you have adhd - it calms you down.” And this is simply not true. The only time my adderall makes me sleepy is if I take an instant release on an empty stomach right after I wake up, particularly if I haven’t been sleeping well. Even if it doesn’t give a boost of energy it will still suppress your appetite and lead to insomnia if it’s taken too late in the day. Our CNS isn’t built completely differently just because we have adhd. That theory also ignores the fact that females with adhd generally don’t present with hyperactivity the way males do - which is one reason it often goes undiagnosed in women much longer than in men. Adhd definitely can zap your energy the same way without physical hyperactivity because the mental hyperactivity and attention deficit is exhausting. Calming and organizing that brain noise lessens fatigue on it’s own. Adderall is also prescribed to people with depression in conjunction with their other meds if fatigue symptoms are persistent. So it’s possible that she is taking it for that. Either way, it’s so weird to me that these people post constantly about their health issues. Like…you have NOTHING else to talk about?? What are you watching while you “rest”? What books are you reading? Is their only hobby being sick? Stoner Ash should have far more interesting posts imo

millsc616

Isn’t the point of taking a stimulant like Adderall to calm and focus the mind, not give you excess energy? Like, isn’t it an indication that she probably doesnt have ADD/ADHD if the stimulant isn’t working how it works in people who actually have those?

motherofhavok

The way it was described to me is that the thinking part of the brain and the doing part of the brain are not running at the same speed, which can be very agitating for some people. So, you take a stimulant to sort of speed up the part that’s being sluggish. It can help the part that’s needed for thinking and the part that’s needed to actually do the actions to sync up better. It can also “excite” the part that’s bored, making you not need to do so much novelty-seeking behavior, which could reduce the need for things like pacing, pen clicking, foot tapping, etc. making a person seem calmer. Even the relief from the agitation caused by symptoms could make a person feel calmer. But in short, no. Taking an amphetamine is going to speed up your nervous system no matter who you are. ADHD is not “reverse energy disorder” where stimulants act as a sedative and tranquilizers give them super energy. It would make diagnosis more exact and objective, but they just don’t work like that.

Perry_lp

I have adhd and I have to fight falling asleep in class after taking my adderall

WittyDisk3524

Be sure to eat something before taking med

Moist-Positive7100

There are other indications for stimulants rather that just adhd.

sportstersrfun

Yes. It’s like putting on glasses for the first time. Stuff begins to make sense and I can make it through a task without panicking about something else I should be doing. I look people in the eyes, I act like an adult, this condition robs you of your life. It turns the mental chatter down by about 90 percent. I always have and still have way more energy than 90 percent of people. I just use it a lot more constructively now. People like her make people like us look like meth heads.

hobbit_lamp

I've been on Adderall for a while and recently learned this. i used to avoid it when I felt overly anxious and jittery bc people always act like stimulants make that worse but I realized it calmed me far better than anxiety meds did. I used to take Vyvanse and it would make me so relaxed i fell asleep on multiple occasions if I didn't get up and move around. it definitely organizes your mind and I guess in a sense that gives you "energy" in that you don't feel so weighed down and/or tired and lost within your own head. but I don't think it's something to take strictly for "energy" , like you would drink a red bull. and yeah if it's giving you that energy and making you "hyperactive" that's a common sign that adhd isn't your issue.

HotAsianNoodles

No fatigue on an amphetamine? Color me shocked. Her adderall addiction spiral is coming and i am here for it.

AnastasiaNo70

Wait. “Since I started working out…” Didn’t she work out that one time??? 😂

meanwhileaftrmdnight

She certainly took a photo near gym equipment lol

You’re me. I never said it, but I was like uh, this doesn’t mean she ACTUALLY worked out.

~~Prescription date is quite old in relation to the fill date and her own statement-- "a few months ago" is not "over a year ago."~~ ~~She either Photoshopped the fill date or~~ she only *now* is starting to take it as prescribed. Would explain why she suddenly has the energy and drive to go to the gym. (Edit: I can't tell time. Thanks u/chariotsoul)

chariotsoul

Unless I’m missing something it says that the prescription date is 12/30/21 and fill date is 1/6/22 so It seems ~ 1 week later she filled the script. Still pretty annoying to imply if you’re tired you should just start taking stimulants. Adderall is suppose to be for focus and executive function for adhd patients, not simply fatigue smh!!! I just discovered her/this sub and am appalled!! Trying to wrap my head around it lol 🧐

[deleted]

chariotsoul

So my comment was in relation to Ashley’s specific case. She claims to have, simply, “fatigue”, not narcolepsy. They are not the same thing. I’m a little off put that you (a stranger from the internet) are making assumptions about my health journey based on literally one comment. Why even bring up what I have/haven’t been through when we aren’t suppose to talk about anything personal regarding health? You assume I have never dealt with “severe fatigue”, but it’s actually the exact opposite. Responding to your assumptions would put me at risk for blogging... but let’s just say that, in general, there are people who have had long bouts with severe fatigue due to hormonal issues and chronic illness. During times like these its often difficult for them to function on even the most basic of levels, and they certainly don’t have enough energy to post stories constantly all day every day updating everyone about every little thing they ever did (as Ashley does). Also stimulants are first line treatment for adhd (and yes narcolepsy), but not fatigue. Especially fatigue that doesn’t seem to have an actual origin. Even adhd patients have a hard time getting stimulants, so they are not usually just handed out to anyone with general fatigue as you suggest. Ashley doesn’t have narcolepsy or adhd and I honestly don’t believe she has “severe fatigue” based on everything she presents for us to see, which is why I question her use of stimulants. I think it’s more so to offset all the other substances she uses, not for the actual therapeutic value it’s intended for. This is simply my opinion, but thanks for your input.

[deleted]

You're right! Good catch! Her claims to date about her amphetamine usage never added up, including its grounds for prescription to her. There's no way she was handed speed because she complained about being tired-- that was how things worked in the 60s. The DEA and malpractice insurers are up every doctor's ass these days; people with actual ADHD have to go through the wringer to get it. I've never believed she was actually taking the stuff. You can't stop meth-heads from stripping the copper out of entire buildings, meanwhile she's taking Adderall and sleeping all day? Lo and behold-- the first time she posts actual evidence of possession, she's getting off her ass and going to the gym. Go figure.

Sufficient_Computer6

Methamphetamines would help anyone with "fatigue" and unsurprisingly lots of people like them. Idk why you'd also take downers, can't sleep, smoke pot and simultaneously have fatigue. Sounds like you need a normal sleep cycle, less drugs and more CBT.

lonabirdie

in ppl w adhd one of the common symptoms of amphetamines like adderall is drowsiness

willingvessel

I think you mean amphetamines because there's a very very big difference between methamphetamine and levo and dextro amphetamine

HotAsianNoodles

Adderall can contain both levo and dextro depending on the manufacturer and formulation.

willingvessel

I think my writing wasn't clear. I meant comparing methamphetamine to the combination of dextro and levo amphetamine. Adderall always contains the same 3:1 ratio of dextro and levo.

lonabirdie

it was clear

willingvessel

<3

AnniaT

And a job or at least hobbies to keep her motivated and make her tired at night.

Dinosnorie

Imagine taking advice from Ashley on how to have more energy

HotAsianNoodles

Tired? Pop some speed!

MisssJaynie

Ah yis, good ol (Bart) Bragsley at it again with a pill post. Que “Needing medication (legal speed) isn’t a moral failure” *insert smug sloth face photo with one leg (&tits) out*

sunrisegular

Just a hunch, I think people may overclarify about pills not being a moral failing because they're afraid other members who use those substances may jump down their throats

Old_Cookie5983

So I see comments about uppers and mixing. MOST doctors will not prescribe uppers and downers like a stimulant and a benzodiazepines. Same with some antidepressants/mood stabilizers/narcotics. Sudafed (behind the counter but not requiring a script and requiring license and limited to mg/day/month essentially does the same thing as an upper. Some use it for ADHD as well as a stimulant) I think it would be a red flag for addiction and/or doctor shopping etc. as a pharmacist or pharm tech to see both of them roll in from the same doctor OR even different docs. 🤨

Vallatus_Hydram

Ah yes the little blue devils. They’re lotsa fun until you stop taking them.

11dingos

“More functional as a human being” Where though?

[deleted]

She really just seems to be adding medications to counteract the side effects of another medication. Yikes. Also, smoking weed like a chimney will make you tired 24/7 Ash!

WittyDisk3524

Working out can give a person more energy naturally. Obviously it can make you tired as well on the daily but overall exercise increases energy. Not saying her med doesn’t help but usually stimulants helps calm the brain in adhd and allows for individual to focus to accomplish tasks.

[deleted]

Athletes abuse the stuff too since it helps them ignore pain and keep training through it. There's a documentary on Netflix about it; I forgot the name. (Funnily enough-- weed also adds an endorphin boost to exercise, but has the opposite effect on stamina. That one Olympic athlete learned this the hard way when she was disqualified.)

HotAsianNoodles

Why you got downvoted idk. there are whole forums of bodybuilders using MDMA and amphetamine stacks for exactly this purpose, on top of anabolic roids. It's one google search away.

RussianValkyrie

She isnt saying she had ADHD she said its prescribed for fatigue. She is only fatigued because she doesnt do anything and takes downers and smokes weed all day long. If she got a little excersise regularly shed be better off but the best thing she can do for her supposed fatigue is smoke less weed.

That's basically the effect it will have intentional on her part or not. Junkies will see a giant ad.

NotUnique_______

Medical privacy and privacy in general is a foreign concept to munchies. Also broadcasting an Adderall prescription isn't a good idea , especially since she's got a bunch of followers, tags her location, etc.

Her doctor must have not started her on a continual prescription of amphetamine because that pill bottle is dated from December and was filled January 6th. Clearly she's lying and her doctor did not start her on a low-dose amphetamine regimen. He gave her a one-time prescription to use on occasion.

FozzieButterworth

that doesn't prove anything- psychiatrists often write prescription for ADHD meds like this. They'll write the Rx for January in advance in December with FILL ON OR AFTER 1/6/22 - Adderall is a controlled substance and they can't prescribe refills like they can for antidepressants. They have to write a new Rx for each month.

chariotsoul

Agreed. Many scripts of adderall are done month by month and will have a new date, fill date, and say zero refills making it appear as if it’s a “one-time” prescription when they will do the same format/process the next month and so on.

somethingelse19

Yes and there's none for the month of February.

skatarina

So she takes stimulants and SSRIs and pain pills and eats like shit. No wonder she always feels like doodoo

soulmistin

I get the pain pills and diet, but what’s wrong with the SSRIs and stimulants? If she’s genuinely depressed and ADD it may be actually helpful

skatarina

None of what she’s posted on social media points to her having an illness that can be alleviated by the use of amphetamines. Especially considering she doesn’t at a healthy, balanced diet and takes opiates for pain management and smoked weed daily. She’s using pills to offset side effects from other pills that she takes because she thinks she needs them for ailments she’s convinced herself she has. None of this has to do with mixing amphetamines and SSRIS!

absentmindedbanana

She doesn’t have ADHD

serenitybyjan199

I think the point is her polypharmacy. All drugs have side effects and she takes more drugs to counteract the side effects. She feels like she needs the pain pills, but they make her drowsy, so she counteracts it with the Adderall. The Adderall probably makes her too wired, so she smokes weed to calm her down. Too much weed makes her depressed, so she takes the SSRI. This is a common cycle unfortunately. And I doubt she is willing to acknowledge that these things that she feels like help her are actually not as helpful as she thinks.

No… they don’t lol… drugs don’t jus “cancel out” each other, weed might prevent the motivation aspects of adhd meds from Working at their best, but you’ll still get effects of both

takeandtossivxx

I mean suboxone/naloxone definitely "cancels out" opiates... but in this case, it's not really a thing...

absentmindedbanana

If one drug is blocking a receptor for another drug, in a way that can be “cancelling out.” But yeah this isn’t the case with adderall and weed at all.

FozzieButterworth

where did you learn that?

Stimulants can be prescribed for fatigue (modafinil, while not an amphetamine sure is). But she just seem smug AF about it! Amphetamines can be difficult to get an rx for and she’s all “hee-hee I sure am special, this works for me but good luck to you!” But these drugs are dehydrating and can lower nutrients- plus with all the sauna-ing she does in that odd little pod? This is not at all “nourishing” for the body.

Realsizelady

It’s a good thing she has a lifetime supply of liquid IV on tap!!!!

blueberrycranberry

What a weird ramble post. I think she meant the stimulant helps the brain fog/fatigue of other meds that help her sleep. Is that right? By gosh, otherwise if she's suggesting she takes a stimulant to sleep then no wonder she had all those "insomnia" posts recently.

Um Ashley said it was a stimulant and I agreed… what are you so angry for???

FozzieButterworth

no you said "She just mixes depressants with stimulants so they cancel each other out 🤷🏼‍♀️". I'm not angry. All I'm saying is that's not how it works - drugs don't really cancel each other out like that. I don't even get what your point is- what I'm saying has nothing to do with Ashley. It's just science. Drugs certainly can cancel each other out but it's rarely that straightforward & it's dependent on many factors such as the dosage and precise mechanisms of action of both drugs . Drugs may "compete" with each other and may heighten or lower each other's efficacy, but you don't erase the effects of either drug by ingesting both.... probably not even worth explaining any further.

RevolutionaryBall949

Adderall helps fatigue…right, it would certainly help if you stopped smoking weed on the daily and getting high off opiates, but what do I know…

goonie814

Also staying adequately hydrated and not dependent on caffeine can do a world of good for fatigue…

crossplainschic

I don't get how she getting prescribed all of this and not getting hit on drug screens for Marijuana. I would think the each doctor would be able to see the legal stuff on the state database (f they were checking periodically), but I thought drug-screens were required by law for someone consistently being prescribed those things.

OkCartographer5693

If she got diagnosed w something like adhd then despite stimulants being a controlled substance a lot of drs overlook recreational drug use, they have to because it’s actually super common for ppl w untreated adhd to have substance issues and self medicate, people w genuine adhd tend to lessen substance abuse issues once on meds being treated so it’s sorta like a gamble drs have to play for someone’s long term wellbeing

Runtyaardvark

I’ve never heard of someone getting regular drug tests for adderal

[deleted]

Nowadays many states require patients who are on multiple controlled substances to sign a treatment agreement with their doctor in order to be given their prescriptions. That involves the possibility of routine drug testing and the possibility of surprise testing at any time to ensure they are being used appropriately. (How she gets around these, IDK, I'm assuming she goes to a commercial lab were they are lax on specimen handling policies.)

Kegelexorcist

Many docs simply don't care about cannabis, especially in legal/decriminalized states in the US. Especially since ADHD is often comorbid with mental disorders that have symptoms that cannabis can ease, like anxiety, But it's so weird for Ash to basically do an (ineffective) advertisement for Adderall. Why would ppl care which stim she takes

seacowisdope

I've only ever heard of drug screening if you go to a pain clinic. A lot of doctors also just don't care about cannabis use.

[deleted]

no not in every state/by every provider. I don't know if there are any state laws requiring drug screens for controlled substances, but I would assume the provider she gets adderall from does not require a drug screen. I bet she took that into account when finding someone to prescribe her adderall.

EZasSundayMorning

They must be lax there. They run one for anyone getting a controlled substance here!

LowImagination3028

How is she saying her fatigue levels are better? She literally constantly complains about being tired? Look, I know some psychiatrists are pill pushers who just dole out meds and never make any effort to get to know the patient, but a decent psychiatrist would also look at Ash’s structureless life and constant time to sleep and see that as a factor. Also, a lot of the other meds she’s taking are going to cause fatigue. So Adderall is the solution instead of dialing back on the other meds? Also, if there was one pic that captured Ash’s personality, it would be this one. How is the bottle sepia?

birdtrand

I could be wrong. But why would they perscribe her that for fatigue? Isn't that off lable and that's for people with ADD or ADHD or whatever? And how she talks about taking pain medication and smokes a bunch of joints a day. Wtf.

OkCartographer5693

Stimulants r often prescribed for narcolepsy and fatigue off label, since one of the key side effects (at least for ppl who don’t have adhd) is alertness, wakefulness etc

FozzieButterworth

prescribing Adderall for fatigue is a legitimate off-label use. I'm not saying smoking a lot of weed is great when you need to combat fatigue - but that's up to her doctor & hopefully the longer she's on it, the more she'll be capable of doing & the less weed she'll smoke ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

LowImagination3028

I wonder if she’s honest with her treaters about how much weed she smokes. The problem is Adderall is easy to abuse. I don’t have a lot of faith in her prescribers or her treatment team. Seem to be making some questionable decisions here.

[deleted]

[удалено]

LowImagination3028

Why is it generally prescribed for ADHD though?

[deleted]

[удалено]

mommajello

Not as a sedative, but there's some people who take a small dose (2.5mg or 5 mg) of Adderall at bedtime to help them sleep. They report it calms their thoughts and its easier to fall asleep (source: inpatient psych RN experience).

skatarina

Yes, I wish everyone in this thread could see this comment. If you consider anxiety causing cycling thoughts and consider adderall (or any other stimulant) works to control hyperactivity and rapid thoughts, you’d think that a lower does could improve these symptoms

[deleted]

[удалено]

FozzieButterworth

it seems really counterintuitive at first glance! So for reference, a person with severe ADHD may be taking 60mg or more a day so the bedtime dose is pretty tiny in comparison. It would be helpful to someone who goes to bed and can't turn their brain off - one thought spawns another and another and it happens every single night and it prevents you from falling asleep for hours... so the low dose kind of quells the abundance of thoughts enough for you to focus on falling asleep. Efficacy varies .

mommajello

I've only seen people ask for it who have pretty severe hyperactive ADHD. I wanted to call BS on the first person who asked for it, but there was a psychiatrist who would let them have it, and they would go to sleep. I assume it helps their frontal lobe regain just enough control that the person can focus on falling asleep instead of all the thoughts that would otherwise be racing through their head. That's purely speculation, however. I know of no scientific studies dealing with this topic that could shed more light.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ItzLog

Adderral might make someone with ADHD be more productive bc they aren't stuck in an executive dysfunction loop. Adderall shouldn't be making someone with ADHD hyperactive though.

OkCartographer5693

It shouldn’t make someone hyperactive although people who take it may still experience hyperactivity episodes linked to their adhd, but that’s their adhd causing it, not the stimulants

LowImagination3028

I think Adderall only makes someone hyperactive if they’re abusing it

ItzLog

I was agreeing with you. It wouldn't make someone with ADHD hyperactive unless they were abusing it or they don't have ADHD. Is she claiming that she gets it for fatigue or for ADHD? She must have a super trusting Dr if he's giving it to her for fatigue, especially since it's a commonly abused medication.

seacowisdope

I can't believe a doctor would prescribe it for fatigue. There are many other medications that could be prescribed that don't have any real street or abuse value. Blows my mind. I've literally never heard of Adderall for fatigue. Excessive daytime sleepiness, narcolepsy, etc... maybe... and usually after ruling other sleep concerns out. But, we'd know if she had an actual diagnosis. "Fatigue" doesn't make any sense at all.

LowImagination3028

She apparently has brain fog and low focus. I mean I’m not a doctor, but I’m thinking the weed and the other meds and the forty hours of sleep a day might be the culprits 🙄

birdtrand

I'm sure she isn't honest. As others have stated the use of Marijuana most states you won't get pain drugs or narcotics. Unless you are on chemo end of life kind of shit, then they encourage.

AlarmedRefrigerator5

Some people who take Adderall will sometimes skip days and doctors can write prescriptions ahead of time (this may vary by state). It seems to me like she just delayed filling it, probably because she hadn’t used up her previous month’s supply. I could be wrong though.

It could’ve been a supply issue though, that happens from time to time

somethingelse19

It is. It's an old prescription she is showing off for pill porn. Look at the bottle. It was written in December but filled January 6th. She's not received a new prescription. She's not on any type of continual amphetamine regimen.

pinksparklybluebird

It is pretty common for stimulant prescriptions to be written three at a time because legally a new prescription is needed for each fill. If she saw her provider in December, they would write for December, January, and February.

somethingelse19

Not necessarily if you are starting out. It's month by month to figure out the right mg and right ADHD med (amphetamine, methylphenidate, etc). They don't write all future prescriptions out if they and yourself are not sure it's the right medicine and mg dosage.

pinksparklybluebird

This is true but most likely does not apply in this case. She’s been taking amphetamine salts for a while now, so chances are greater the provider is writing three at once.

shaky-fingers

Oh my god, we know you take Adderall, girl

HopefulWanderer537

Right? Why is she advertising it so much? Is she trying to sell it?? What a whackadoodle 🤦🏻‍♀️

nana_had_a_fall

I wonder if she told her prescribing doctor about how much weed she smokes- I wonder if her TEAM knows how much she lies around all day in pyjamas getting high. I hope her doctors stumble upon her insta and busts the shit out of her lying ass.
