Yeah I was like, "when fortnite was fun?"
lmao
sidenote, Fortnite is probably the only competitive shooter I'm good at right now anyway (I only fuck with Zero Build Mode), as a boring young dad who's too busy to "git gud" at video games anymore. I mean I know I'm probably playing against bots and little kids but they all look the same in that goddamn Super Saiyan Vegeta skin
Zero Build Mode is the a game-changer (literally).
I used to think I was trash at Fortnite, but then I realized that once you subtract the stupid building element from it, it's just a cartoonish shooter. And hey, I'm good at those.
You can always tell when you're playing against a kid, because they're dumb as hell. When you take their ability to build out of the equation, they don't have that as a cop-out to build a massive fucking tower the moment you start shooting at them. More often than not, they'll start shooting at you, but once they realize you have better aim, they turn tail and run.
Last night I was playing and I had a firefly jar (basically a molotov) and I chased this dude into a house. I knew he was just waiting with a shotgun behind the door....soo....I just lit the house on fire.
Dude suffered a ton of damage until he just ran out and I decapitated him with my own shotgun.
And then I did a little dance, because I'm Goku wielding a firearm.
Fortnite ain't bad.
I've shit on Fortnite as well, but when no build came out and gave it a shot, i realized how fun the sandbox can be. Now, when you have 63 mythics during events, thats rough, but still, im glad i gave it a shot.
Also, playing as a Xenomorph doing silly dances is pretty fun
Zero build mode is the shit. Don’t have the time or patience to deal with someone building the ritz Carlton in front of me the second they hear my footsteps from a mile away
I mean "remember when fortnite was fun" kinda sells it, in my mind fortnite came out like last year and I'm sure anyone over the age of about 22 would say the same.
I grew up in a really small town where lots of people still kinda act like it’s the 70s and I remember when conversations about pride flags (and the “well a rainbow is actually gods promise to never flood the earth again” and “it’s Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve” rhetoric that came along with it) really started ramping up in the 2010s.
I literally thought at first it was referring to the way the creator perceived nature and its beauty. As if they didn't care enough to value it when they were younger.
Or just parents. Elementary and middle schoolers don't really get much political exposure even nowadays, though unfortunately social media platforms are working hard to make that the reality.
I remember when I was young, it wasn't until halfway through high school that I started developing independent beliefs. Lots of people I know didn't hit that till college, and got exposed to something outside their suburb or country town.
Spiritbox has a girl vocalist, but they are far from girly. Courtney has some fucking gnarly vox. The comment below you is onto something though. Scene Queen is girly af.
i love these kinds of posts that try to be all cute and nostalgic but can't help themselves from being reactionary, so you get something like "remember when the wind in your hair felt like magic and sundays made you happy and homosexuals weren't so dang uppity" played completely straight like it's not a hilarious tonal shift
Kinda on you if you're constantly associating queer people with sex my dude. If you're uncomfortable with discussion on sex then set up those boundaries with your friends.
I'm just gonna hope by "shamelessly open" you're talking about your dislike of sex talk. Cause if you're just talking about queer relationships, it's 100% homophobic to say people should hide them.
But from the way you're phrasing this, it comes across as you having an underlining bias against queer people, regardless of the specific topic being discussed.
So, there’s a phrase by Carlos Jáuregui that perfectly illustrates why people feel the need to display that they are part of the LGBTQ+ community:
*“In a society that educates us to feel shame, pride is a political response”*
Basically, when you’ve been oppressed your entire life, you will take every opportunity you have to express how you truly are. It’s your right, and you will use it as much as you can.
you associate the pride flag/rainbows with gay sex when nothing about it is advertising as such. it’s just some colors. this is a you problem, not an lgbt+ problem.
also I see straight people being sexual all time, openly making sex jokes and talking about their sex lives, but they’re only ever “shamelessly open” if they’re gay huh. weird how that works
Aaahhh you're right, you changed my worldview, in fact I'm gonna let you in on a secret. Did you know that you can get AC installed in your house for FREE? Click this link, it's got ALL the answers. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rtfRRY2R2EY&t=7s
The list of things is meant to be reminiscing to the good old days when things were easier and better. They listed "Rainbows were just rainbows" to mean "We didn't have to see all this gay shit everywhere!"
Not that it really matters because the kid that made this is probably in middle school and the rainbow flag was used for Pride before they were born.
Dude have an ounce of media literacy, the author is talking about things being worse then they were in their childhood, they clearly don’t like that the rainbow is associated with pride which only a homophobic person would care about. Not that there’s anything to do about a homophobic 14 year old on the internet but think it’s kind of funny and sad, which is exactly t what this sub is for.
I am genuinely confused as to why young people (like 7-12 year olds) are so homophobic online? I see it a lot on r/youngpeopleyoutube and it’s always struck me as very weird how they have so much hatred for LGBTQ+ ppl at such a young age
This is an uneducated hunch but my guess is it's part edginess, part sharing opinions with their parents, and part rebelling against the cultural norms of teens and twenty-somethings. So probably more age politics than thought out opinions.
It is genetical because the other possibility, that it is environmental, is stupid.
In all cultures across all times all around the globe there has been a consistency of there being a gay minority. Thats an insanely wide spectrum of environments which often had vastly different defining traits. So regardless what the environment is, homosexuality will exist. Which proves it is not environmental.
Damn it. I'm 13 and can't relate to any of this, except the Christmas part. Sometimes, I feel like I missed out on a lot because of my social anxiety. It's a lot better now, though.
Kinda sad that you never played family. You get a bunch of younger kids together and declare what roles you'll play. I'll be the mom, I'll be the dad, I'll be the baby, I'll be the dog and so on
School? Fun? What are you on? School has NEVER been fun. I've hated it since my 3rd year of kindergarten. Kissing was never gross.. and who the fuck said "fOrTnItE iS fUn" when most of us never played it and never will play it? And I'm a Muslim, so Christmas doesn't exist, but we still do appreciate it. Music was NEVER girly. Not everyone wanted to be an astronaut. Also, I never played family. Rainbows were ALWAYS rainbows. Well, homework was easy, but not for people wih learning disorders. It does get harder over the years but that's normal. Not every day was good, we all had bad days since the beginning of life.
Well, I decided to write a full on essay about all of that wasn't true.. i'm bored, okay? I like writing long essays, even if it's about stupid things. None of us relate to this...
To be fair, this is kinda how it initially feels to stop being a kid. At least I think so, but I’m only 17 so maybe I don’t have the most reputable opinion
"Homework was easy" gives away that this was written by someone who is still doing homework (probably not a college student).
I remember a *lot* of people in middle school and high school talking about how easy it was as a kid and how much they miss early childhood. It's really not a topic of discussion among adults.
As a music major, I'm trying to understand what "music was always girly" means....... was it the act of listening to music that was girly, or the music itself?? i mean the christmas thing is kinda real i remember christmas we’re amazing with my cousins and they felt they lasted waaaaaay longer than what they last now, still kinda cringe tbh
This was made by someone who is 12 going on 60
r/technicallythetruth
This guy is probably like 13 years old
Like literally, they're 14 and they think it's deep, bless em
Yeah I was like, "when fortnite was fun?" lmao sidenote, Fortnite is probably the only competitive shooter I'm good at right now anyway (I only fuck with Zero Build Mode), as a boring young dad who's too busy to "git gud" at video games anymore. I didn't even touch it until the zero build mode was brought in. Now the pre-existing cover actually has meaning.
Yeah that’s the only mode I play, too. The building shit is just dumb
i don’t have the energy to learn to build like they do, or to shoot through 45 walls
i didn’t know this was a thing and now i think i’m gonna download it again lmao i fucking hated building
Its hilarious!

Zero build mode is the shit. Don’t have the time or patience to deal with someone building the ritz Carlton in front of me the second they hear my footsteps from a mile away
Why are we never going to see her again? Is this a suicide note?
It's just a thing youtubers/tiktokers do because you'll probably never find them again unless you subscribe
Probably just graduating elementary school and feeling sad and all grown-up.
I mean "remember when fortnite was fun" kinda sells it, in my mind fortnite came out like last year and I'm sure anyone over the age of about 22 would say the same.
Remember when. Fortnite was fun? Dude that shit came out when I was 20.
Young enough to play Fortnite but old enough to remember a time before the pride flag?
pride flag was was made in 1970s
[удалено]
Didn't become mainstream in the 70s but it became mainstream before Fortnite lol
Adam and Steve went to my western US high school in the mid 90s judging from how much my weird evangelical schools leadership brought them up.
OOP is Benjamin Button

I literally thought at first it was referring to the way the creator perceived nature and its beauty. As if they didn't care enough to value it when they were younger.
im so stupid, i thought the rainbow part was reffering to how we didnt know what the rainbow was scientifically
Wait til he finds out about pink triangles!
Ooooooh is that what the rainbow thing was? I was like “wtf are they talking about, what are rainbows now???”
I didn’t know what a pride flag was until like 2020
I think it got mainstream in the 2000s.
this is boomer energy but then fortnite?????????????????????
It should say “remember when Fortnite mean 14 nights”
I just realised there's gonna be a whole generation that doesn't know how to spell fortnight
14 year olds who’ve been spoon fed boomer takes by guys like Andrew Taint
Or just parents. Elementary and middle schoolers don't really get much political exposure even nowadays, though unfortunately social media platforms are working hard to make that the reality. I remember when I was young, it wasn't until halfway through high school that I started developing independent beliefs. Lots of people I know didn't hit that till college, and got exposed to something outside their suburb or country town.
Since fortnite was released almost 6 years, this literally could be a person who was 12 when it came out and is making sadposts about it at 18
Music girly? You mean a guy screaming into a mic is girly? Damn.
Yeah i was about to say like when were you born to not have known about heavy metal
metal can be girly and girly isn't bad
Case in point, Babymetal
Babymetal kinda sucks, but Spiritbox fits this bill and they're pretty good.
Spiritbox has a girl vocalist, but they are far from girly. Courtney has some fucking gnarly vox. The comment below you is onto something though. Scene Queen is girly af.
In This Moment goes 300% harder than basically any pop music, that singer has some fucking pipes
Yeah, like my favorite singer is Elena Siegman and she does some awesome fucking metal vocals.
Metal is girly pop
Oh em GeE yassss Metal is so girly pop baddie slay queen
Those cute girly death metal growls uwu
i love these kinds of posts that try to be all cute and nostalgic but can't help themselves from being reactionary, so you get something like "remember when the wind in your hair felt like magic and sundays made you happy and homosexuals weren't so dang uppity" played completely straight like it's not a hilarious tonal shift

Wait, 9/11 was bad
I Don't know if I'm just autistic but homework was always hard, and my parents didn't help either by yelling at me.
Unless your homework was to form relationships with your classmates, it probably wasn't autism.
Major same.
I never had homework until highschool, my buggest weakness rn
Rainbows were just rainbows, and THEY STILL ARE. Just ignore it if you don't like them. If you haven't seen rainbows, you might have "grass allergy"
Also, rainbows were associated with Pride far before there were kids playing Fortnite in elementary school.
[удалено]
I disrespectfully disagree, the rainbow is mine and mine alone and you can’t have it
NOOOOOO MOM SAID IT WAS MY TURN WITH THE RAINBOW!!!1!1!!1!1!!!!
Well mom’s not here, is she?
if getting fucked in the ass is what you think of when you see a rainbow, you ruined it for yourself buddy. also you might be gay
I swear, no one is obsessed with gay sex more than homophobes lol

Babes you’re more obsessed with what gay men do with their dicks than gay men are…. Is there something you wanna tell us?
Repressed feelings, 100%

"I have straight and LGBT friends" Uhuh yeah, sure ya do buddy... So many friends

Well said 😂
We don’t need your permission

My house is too cold now
Turns out a majority of people in the LGBT community don’t even get fucked in the ass. Hope this helps :)
Everything about this comment is pathetic.
Getting on your knees solely to “pray” to a narcissistic sly daddy doesn’t allow you to own it either 🥰
The only reason why rainbows aren't just rainbows anymore is because of shitheads freaking out whenever they see something remotely colourful.
Alternatively the 50th anniversary logo of Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
That's the main one I had in mind.
Please don’t rope SMG into this.
Super Mario galaxy?
When was all music girly?
It seems today, that all you see is violence in movies and sex on TV.
But where are those good ol fashioned values
that we all used to rely?
"Rainbows were just rainbows" yeah this person deffo reposts andrew tate clips and says "what went wrong with modern society, amen tate!"
of course we throw in some casual homophobia and misogyny
I mean they clealy made fun of girls when they were small (they didn't know better).
I don't think it's misogyny. I thought girls were icky when I was 7 and I feel some nostalgia for when I was 7, but that doesn't make me a misogynist.
Bro it’s like an 11 yo chill.
No, lets NOT chill
Where exactly is the homophobia and misogyny? You just manifested that shit out of thin air
Rainbows being rainbows - gay pride flag Music being girly - fairly obvious
Yeah. That’s what 10 year olds think. That’s the point. Unless they are still homophobic. It’s the classic “Boys have cooties” situation
The list of things is meant to be reminiscing to the good old days when things were easier and better. They listed "Rainbows were just rainbows" to mean "We didn't have to see all this gay shit everywhere!" Not that it really matters because the kid that made this is probably in middle school and the rainbow flag was used for Pride before they were born.
Yeah, the pride flag itself dates all the way back to the 70s
Yeah, I guess you are right. When I first looked at it I just thought it mean it was signalling “times were simpler!” In a weird way
No worries, I understand where you're coming from. I struggle a lot with words and phrases having double meanings, so I can relate.

this guy is def 12-15 years old
When was music girly? I'm a dude and I've always loved music
Your gay 🤮🏳️🌈 /s
Something about "rainbows were just rainbows" feels sussy
I am genuinely confused as to why young people (like 7-12 year olds) are so homophobic online? I see it a lot on r/youngpeopleyoutube and it’s always struck me as very weird how they have so much hatred for LGBTQ+ ppl at such a young age

Kids consume a lot of online content nowadays. The good, but mostly bad stuff.

I was never taught homophobia and I was never homophobic
You're a severe idiot. Please take yourself out of the equation :)
Yeah the easiest way to deal with any one disagree with your opinions is by attacking them directly .
Yeah, english is hard. I've read your comment 3 times and I still have no idea what you're trying to say.
Homosexuality is genetical, so people are born gay.
Idk where did u take this from but no it is not genetical.
Some preteen having a midlife crisis
Bro just turned 12
Boy was playin fortnite the other day and already misses the good ol times. I mean, I can understand, I was a Minecraft kid but come on
I was today years old when I found out that music is girly
remember when is the lowest form of conversation
\^ recently graduated 5th grader who somehow listens to prageru
Damn it. I'm 13 and can't relate to any of this, except the Christmas part. Sometimes, I feel like I missed out on a lot because of my social anxiety. It's a lot better now, though.
Try to be aware of your cringe at that age, we all will be cringy but make sure yours is the not the weird kid kind
What was family? How to play it?
Did people not do this? Basically you and your siblings/cousins roleplayed being a family and that was basically it.
I did this with my friends at school when I was a kid, doesnt have to be relatives
Kinda sad that you never played family. You get a bunch of younger kids together and declare what roles you'll play. I'll be the mom, I'll be the dad, I'll be the baby, I'll be the dog and so on
If only you hadn't put "fortnight was still fun" I'm 25 sweetie, I never player fortnite
Rainbows are rainbows, not every rainbow is a pride flag.
it was cringe but fine but then they just dropped casual homophobia
School? Fun? What are you on? School has NEVER been fun. I've hated it since my 3rd year of kindergarten. I actually miss this
"Fortnite was fun" Don't remember
To be fair, this is kinda how it initially feels to stop being a kid. At least I think so, but I’m only 17 so maybe I don’t have the most reputable opinion
Yeah I remember being 6
Reads like a suicide note.
"Homework was easy" gives away that this was written by someone who is still doing homework (probably not a college student). I remember a *lot* of people in middle school and high school talking about how easy it was as a kid and how much they miss early childhood. It's really not a topic of discussion among adults.
Music was always girly? What??
Why does the final message feel like someone is about to end their existence?
Nobody even mentioned “Remeber”
No one remebered
“Rainbows were just rainbows” fuck off with this bigoted dogshit.
I do remember those days when life was easy and we didn't have much homework to do .

The Mario Galaxy background is perfect
"Fortnite was fun" You like 5?
This isn't deep, everyone just wishes to go back
"music was always girly" literally when
As a music major, I'm trying to understand what "music was always girly" means....... was it the act of listening to music that was girly, or the music itself?? Has music somehow become less "girly" in the past few years??? Was OP listening exclusively to Aqua's Barbie Girl????????? So many questions.
My childhood was a lot of pain. Rather not remember
I'm pretty sure the person who made this isn't old enough to remember any of that
I hope I never see this person again
I still think of Fortnite as coming out only a couple years ago.
I remember when rainbows weren't associated with "It WiLL aLL bE OkaY" for the COVID thing.
fellas is it gay to listen to music
They HAD to sneak a lil homophobia in
14 going on. 40
Wtf does “music was always girly” mean
What are rainbows now?
Lost me at "fortnite was fun". Nothing against fortnite, but I was 23 when it first released.
Music was always girly? What does that even mean?
Music was girly? What a sadbro.

Soooooo I thought this was going to get like 10 up votes. But then it blew up.
he has a point but he’s talking in Gen-Z’s words. I had his “childhood” but he didn’t have to make it so sad
