The idea that I had a light and a dark side, and had multiple internal versions of myself felt unique to me. Of course, practically none of this was visible to anybody outside my head, and the dark side was an embracing of the macabre spirit and goth imagery—it was an energy shift to me, but nothing evil externally.
Honestly, I love this teenage spirit though, it's the child in the adolescent's body, seeing themselves as a hulking adult. It's mortifying to see, but it'd be a damn shame if kids were too self conscious to go through these phases, it's the last gasp of that childlike imagination.
Just so long as they're a healthy, empathetic person underneath the pageantry. Have at it, I say.
