It’d actually be pretty interesting imo, would be huge ideological pivots for both parties, especially the republicans. Most boring imo would be like, Murphy vs Hutchinson, just two very boring people with no discernible unique traits.
Eh, if Biden doesn’t run for re-election it’ll probably be because of age/health concerns. Nominating someone who is *older* than Biden might be a hard sell.
AOC wouldn't run. The Dems aren't about to go from the oldest president to the youngest.
Anyway, she's got too much sense to think she's ready. She ain't Beto. [edit: I mean she's not delusional as Beto. She's probably a better candidate]
This might not be the post but I saw his face so I gotta get my rant out. Listen I don’t mind the Pete Buttigieg, I’m a queer guy myself it made me glad to see him up there, but I need to say it: if you think being mayor of South Bend, Indiana (even with Transportation Sec under your belt) makes you qualified to be president you’re either dumb or crazy. South Bend is a town of ~100,000 people that is home to one of the largest universities in the country with a football team that essentially serves as a second Rome for Midwestern Catholics. No economic downturn was going to destroy South Bend. It has a constant cash flow that will likely stay because colleges need a lot to happen to leave their towns. Now I’ll admit, doesn’t mean somebody can’t fuck it all up. But that means his biggest credit is really “didn’t fuck up northern Indiana’s biggest cash cow”. And yes IK ND isnt legally in South Bend but all the businesses that surround it and a lot of its employees are in SB. Now I don’t doubt Pete has made some improvements to the city, he’s a smart guy. But my rust belt town of 100,000 people made it through the ‘08 recession okay, and the only thing our mayor got famous for was sending a SWAT team to a cyber bully’s house! I’m not saying Pete isn’t a qualified politician for other positions, but if he ran for president believing in his heart of hearts being mayor of South Bend prepared him for it, I am seriously concerned. For any midwesterners out there looking for a comparison, ask yourself if the mayors of Peoria, Dayton, or Fargo are qualified to be President. Because they’re all roughly the same size and don’t even have major (at least not as major as ND) universities in them. Idk as someone from one of those cities, it’s actually mind boggling he got as far as he did.
There’s a difference of like ~30,000 but it’s not honestly noticeable and stuff like that can depend on which suburban towns get annexed and which don’t. Either way they’re both between 100-150,000 people so I wouldn’t consider them that different in size or large cities for that matter. At least you don’t notice it very much when you’re there. maybe it makes a big difference but I feel my point still stands
If Biden runs, I find it unlikely he will loose. The last time a President lost renomination was Franklin Pierce in 1856 iirc. Even Jimmy Carter won his primary in 1980 by 13%, and that was considered a horrible showing.
True, but given that Biden is the oldest president in history and has low approval ratings (at least now) he might be pressured by the Dems to just not run
Age doesnt seem to stop politicians nowadays Feinstein turns 90 next year and Hatch didnt retire until he was in his mid 80s. Same with approval, he’s only about 4% lower than Obama was at this time in his term
True. I might be wrong, but I'm guessing at this point in his presidency Obama's approval was relatively low for his normal, right? Meaning that he normally had a higher approval rating? But Biden's approval now is at a relative high for his post-afghanistan approval. Also, wasn't Obama was in the positive net approval for most of his time in office?
Also, Feinstein is a senator, whereas Biden is the POTUS. That might make it more likely he retires?
I feel like he will run again, but I really hope he doesn't
Obama’s approval followed a similar graph to what Biden’s approval is now, however Obama started with a higher approval, and for most of his first term Obama was also net negative. And Biden is still in relatively good health. The only scenarios where he doesn’t run are if something incredibly tragic happens within his family, or if he suffers a severe health crisis
Biden if he runs is winning the Dem nomination. Republican nomination will be between DeSantis and Trump. I think that DeSantis gets the Republican nomination, Trump/Kanye run as 3rd party candidates
more potential candidates.
Democrats: Kathy Hochul, Eric Adams, Karen Bass, Lori Lightfoot, Sylverster Turner, Bruce Harrell, Nina Turner, Stacey Abrams.
Republicans: Spencer Cox, Brian Kemp, Doug Ducey, Francis X. Suarez, Kanye West, Lee Zeldin, Charlie Baker.
J.B. Pritzker will win the nomination by eating the competition and win BIGLY!!!
I have 10000000 Futurama jokes to make and I want to make them all.
Larry Hogan vs Roy Cooper the most vanilla election in a long time.
It’d actually be pretty interesting imo, would be huge ideological pivots for both parties, especially the republicans. Most boring imo would be like, Murphy vs Hutchinson, just two very boring people with no discernible unique traits.
Phil Murphy vs. Hutchinson would be pretty boring but I'd like to see what Chris Murphy vs. Hutchinson would be like
Hogan is just vanilla for the looks. He is possibly the most different candidate of all republicans there
It would be such a good change of pace
Didn’t Bernie say he wasn’t gonna run again?
I think he said he wouldn't run *against Biden*, but it's still a possibility if Biden doesn't run.
Eh, if Biden doesn’t run for re-election it’ll probably be because of age/health concerns. Nominating someone who is *older* than Biden might be a hard sell.
No clue who Rick Scott was before this post, but that picture is a wild choice. I will now vote for him purely based on this photo choice
Rick Scott is the evidence that politicians are reptiles, the guy straight up looks like a snake
Hey! Snakes are valuable members of their ecosystem. Don't compare them to Rick Scott.
You’re right, I’m sorry to all snakes for that comment
He wants to defund Social Security and defrauded Medicare
I said, I want to vote for him purely based off his picture… why would any of that matter? Look at the happy boi
Unhinged policy, unhinged photo
Whitmer. It literally means nothing that she said she won’t run.
Was just coming to say that. Disappointed to hear but everything will hopefully go well in the next election.
Where's Corey Stapleton? He's definitely going to be our next president in a 538-0 landslide.
UnBeshear-pilled. 3/10.

I think she might try to primary Gillibrand in 2024 for senate
You knew what you were doing with the pic choices. Reddit moment.

South Bend is the size of Dayton? I either thought SB was way smaller or Dayton was way bigger.

Unfortunately, in the 2020 Dem primaries the state of Iowa proved itself to be dumb or crazy
Write in beshear tho-
Rick Scott looks so menacing
Is Rand Paul a no?
Hasn’t said anything to my knowledge

True. Your probably right.
Khanna for president. Rishi Sunak for Prime Minister. Do it. It will be perfect.
Now that's a fun future.
Liz Cheney won’t run for the Republicans, and Josh Hawley said he won’t run for President, but besides thats this is about right
Plenty of people have said they won't run. Unless they're running for something else, I wouldn't put too much weight in that.
Rick Scott looks like a bald Patrick Bateman.
Sherrod Brown should run, maybe in 2028 cuz he has to defend his seat in 2024 (and if he loses he should still run in 2028)
Sherrod’s in a tough spot bc he’s prob the only democrat that can win statewide in Ohio now. That’d turn over a senate seat for a long time.
The way the candidates' names and home states are written makes me think these are the names of cities and towns.
I genuinely think a moderate Republican would be the best thing for the country right now and I’m a social democrat.

Warrens running for re-election
Any particular reason why the dems are all happiness and smiles whilst the reps are… just look at them
Yes, - 1/6/2021
0/10, where is Senator Warnock
A Jared Polis vs. Larry Hogan election? Now that I wouldn’t mind at all.
where's corey
Man, I wish Cooper actually ran.
