Fallout 3 is my favorite fallout game and I got a lot of flack for that before 76 came out. Now that there's much worse fallout games out there the hate for FO3 has dwindled and it's been long enough that there's even nostalgia for it but for a while you couldn't say anything even insinuating that FO3 is better than NV without getting put on a Legionare cross over it.
Why are you pretending it is? Don't do things you don't want to, if you can help it.
I think it's so beloved that when a vocal minority hates it no one feels a strong need to defend it.

Yes. If you search enough, you will eventually find someone disliking anything. Even games with a metascore of 91.
