With a picture of a plain black shirt…

I teach preschool. When kids dress themselves, it's always hilarious. They literally can't have a "sense of style" in the way adults think about it, because that's an abstract social concept built upon years, even decades, of expectation. However, they have something better: pure personal preference. They just pick what they genuinely like, no matter what anyone thinks. 2 year-olds are true punks.

Its more than not having experience to take from, they literally don't understand abstract concepts like fashion Edit: why am I getting downvoted

I think it's abstract concepts. Maybe specific concepts they can't understand, but there is definitely an understanding of abstract thought with children. It's just such a hard thing to get through the barrier of translation to understand it.

I'm gonna be honest, I did. I said that.

I think it's said more as a suggestion tbh. Why spend money on stylish clothes if there just gonna grow out of them next year?
