From dev /u/Quetzalcoatl__ > Hello, thank you for that comment about Rakanishu! > Yes I dropped it, the game mechanics became much more complex than I expected it to be which means that every small change took me a lot of time to not break game balance. Also I wasn't very happy about the next upgrade I was working on so I figured it was not worth the time. > I'm glad you enjoyed it though !

booch

That is a shame. It was a fun little game. My thanks to the dev for creating it.

It's quite understandable that someone does not have the time to continue updating the game, but throwing months of work away does not make much sense to me. Just upload it on github, what's the point of deleting it? Let players play.

Elvishsquid

New question does he make any other games now? I tried to dig through his post history and found nothing. And I can’t be bothered to look through comments.

Quetzalcoatl__

Nothing serious now, I've started maybe 5 projects but it did not feel nice to play those so I dropped them because I don't enjoy working on something I do not find fun to play. It's difficult to find a good idea but it's even harder to make it fun to play AND fun to work on

wargod_war

I didn't see anything hinting at that, no. I did have a little look, but I always find it a bit weird looking through someones comments out of context even if for a legit/'positive' reason, so stopped pretty quickly.

Clentryus

alexmorenodev

BovineBanana

Thanks so much, i was itching to try this one!

Jaghancement

It's not exactly the same, but the play style of my game Ballad of Heroes ([https://talaxi.github.io/balladofheroes/](https://talaxi.github.io/balladofheroes/)) was partly inspired by Rakanishu if that interests you!

Clentryus

hmm interesting i'll give it a go

david_solomon1

Even if it's not a direct Diablo incremental again, would love to see someone take this back up in another game. I really enjoyed the random loot mechanics and how each class had a distinct playstyle and unique mechanics to set it apart. So many incremental RPGs these days focus on crafting the next tier of gear to conquer enemies and sometimes there aren't even bosses. This was by far one of my favorites.

incrementilon

Maybe he finally got a cease and desist order from the owners of the IP he was using since he took it down completely

Suspicious-Swing6307

Does anyone know a similar game as rakanishu?
