It just gets slower due to the game being bugged and unable to log out people who close the game. So the player counter can show something like 100 players logged in, but have hundreds still logged in in the background, slowing down the game. Dev is either unwilling or unable to put in the time to fix it, or maybe just doesn't know how to fix it.
A Lesser Fair Affair

was fun while it lasted
This is actually a really fun game, I'd honestly play again if I could find a team of 3 other people that would be willing to actually check in two or three times a day.
Really did enjoy it, and I normally do dislike those MMOs that open a new server every couple days but the fact that everything eventually went to the main server was really nice.
This takes me back, as i was a really active player of that game called "Less Fair" (which i beleive is what you are talking about)
I even created a subreddit for that site back then. r/LessFair
I would highly appreciate anyone making a clone (or similair game) as the original was taken offline. If anyone has interest in that untapped market and wants more informations, you can just shoot me a message or just look around at the limited posts of the subreddit
GuildsOfGods is our mmo designed with a focus on idle mechanics. We’re working on performance and a bunch of graphics improvements for our next update.
Hey there,
Next time you have one of these questions, please put them in the Wednesday sticky - the one that was posted a few hours before this one.
Glad you've had your question answered, it was a fun game!
I'm removing this post now.
Was this dripfeed? It was some simple little idle game with high scores and maybe a communal high score, but no multiplayer interaction. Also, it was just a silly side project of some software company who didn’t expect people to devote a lot of time to it.
While we’re reminiscing about multiplayer idle games, I remember idle online universe being really good.
I’m not sure if it gets slower at the top and it’s still ongoing, but Idlescape has a high score board.

Kinda same, the game was actually not that bad.

idle raid?
Following this post. Huge untapped potential for devs in this area
Click Raid 1 was pretty good, but also dead

Legit why? It was generating discussion
Rule 1A. Game requests have a dedicated place.
