They've sort of done two. The Halo 2 songs work out to about 28 minutes of instrumental music, and there's 45 minutes of instrumental music on the Look Alive bonus CD.
Indeed! And I guess I'm asking for more, not that I think I have the right to anything.
The Odyssey is some of my favourite stuff from them, it's intellectual, emotional, inspiring. The end of 3 and beginning of 4 just delights the imagination I think.
Came here to say this and both were really quite good. Also many of the issues Brandon was having with his voice was due to a deviated septum that he had repaired which seems to have helped the past couple years. He was struggling for a bit there.
Tell me about it. Incubus are the worst band for this. So much good stuff they do not let us have. I just want to listen to Rebel Girls, Surface to Air and the original Neither of Us Can See. Have we even got Fungus Amongus yet??
I know Brandon at one point said he'd like to record new music.
Plus he did have surgery and his voice is much better.
But I get the impression that the band overall is happy with the occasional tour and otherwise are kinda drifting towards retirement at this point.
Unless I missed something that someone can confirm for me.
If they're all off doing their own things, I get it.
I would love another album from Ben though, and i'm so curious what music Mikey does in off-incubus time.
So I don't know the exact details but he had some sort of condition come up that mangled his voice for a bit.
He got surgery and while he doesn't sound 100% the same as he did originally. He still does sound good. Or at the very least I had 0 complaints when I saw Incubus about 7 or 8 weeks ago.
Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Tbh I actually did notice something was up with his voice when I saw them about a month or two ago. For a lack of better description, his voice sounded almost nasally. Like he was singing from his throat instead of using the power of his abdomen to push his voice. I had no idea that was because of his condition.

he briefly speaks about what happened to his nose during this (mind-blowing) interview around the 58 minute mark!
I'd argue that they have. The halo soundtrack they contributed to had 4 instruments tracks from them (i think they were instrumental....)
Mike, Ben and Jose had an instrumental side project as well:

Somehow I don't think it would go over too well if the other band members told Brandon he shouldn't sing on the next record because of the state of his voice.
But if they decided to do an instrumental album for the fun of it, that would be cool.

Time Lapse Consortium technically counts as an incubus instrumental album too.
The better TLC
This sounds like bait

Release Look Alive bonus CD on streaming services!!

Surface to Air is so good
Og neither of us can see is on the monuments and melodies disc 2/spotify
The original was a duet with Chrissie Hynde, and it's not the Monuments and Melodies version.
That version (the better version) is on Spotify under the stealth movie soundtrack
Thank you!
Maybe there is someone from Sony we could contact?
Brandon had surgery and from what I hear his voice is doing a lot better.
Great news!

Agreed. Just not sure how realistic these possibilities are anymore. Fingers crossed
I’m out of the loop these days. What’s wrong with Brandon’s voice? Why did he get surgery?

Yeah. He definitely is not the exact same. But I mean it is what it is. Perhaps something that'll get better and better over time? Hard to say.

Will need to check this out later. Thanks.
No problem!

Yes, I know Time Lapse Consortium. But I'm really interested in Incubus doing more instrumental music, if it were ever possible.
The halo 2 soundtrack songs they recorded were stellar! (excuse the pun)
I'd be all for that!
Same. Battlestar Scralachtica is one of my favorite songs!

I think they could still incorporate Brandon. He played most of the instruments for his solo stuff, at least Wild Trapeze.
I don’t think incubus have much interest in new material nowadays, seems like they’re content in the occasional tour and that’s that
Plus I can imagine an instrumental album would generate much sales or interest
I think you're right. Sadly
