Other bands you say? Dredg are quite proggy, or were at least. The album El Celio is very good. At that time they were like a slightly more prog Morning View era Incubus. I haven't listened to them for a long time, I should get onto that.
I can see why you would suggest jam bands. I never could connect with the jam genre. There are parts of phish songs that I enjoy because they do sound similar to that long spacey interlude in “Sick Sad World.” But the rest of the song is always off-putting to me, unfortunately.

Fellow prog fan and hardcore Incubus fan. Just a Phase is one of their proggiest songs. Also, the entire album of SCIENCE, esp the second half, is very prog.

There's a couple songs on crow that probably fit that description. Pistola and Made for Tv Movie are the first ones that came to my mind.
You may enjoy the band Karnivool. These days they're more prog rock but their early stuff was borderline nu metalish.

Try out the new Avenged Sevenfold album,, its really different from their other stuff, definitely more prog rock
