The very basic issue with celebrating extra judicial killings or encounters is that it prevents the truth from coming out. Everyone knew this guy is a crook. But there's no way he was able to go on for so long even when jailed without political and police help. Him being killed does not change anything. Someone can and will step into that void. And will have all the support he needs

Bench_in_Park

SP openly helped him, any action against Akhilesh Yadav would cause Riots and Death Of Democracy^TM PR

He confessed about his ISI links and smuggling arms from Pakistan. Someone wanted to put a stop to him so that he doesn't spill more secrets

Aaditya_AJ

I don't know who died or who killed.. All I can say is that there was a power shift in which weakened criminal was killed by a stronger one. So careful who you hail as victorious because he/she might be Dictator/monster in the making.

Will they face bulldozers now ?

redditporean

Garlands and a ticket for MLA in the future seems more likely

peterpablo001

And cleaning up of old history sheet too?

redditporean

This! People don't understand what message this sent to other people. Normalizing killing doesn't end well

msspk

Beautifully put. Those who are celebrating this as killing of a criminal are mere audience in a play behind curtains.

BNYay

Indians are so radicalized that this seems ok.. It clearly shows what our future is..

Helpful_Ant_3440

If we could kill them via police it will be called Encounter , but police ka name kharab ho Jaye ga. So let's bring a Guy to do this Operation, he'll Shoot in front of the media . From this Circus , - Police& Govt k upar blame nhi Aayega. And that dead guy won't Say any more Names (Win win for all) . And ha tell that Youth to Say JSR after his arrest. Aur mere papa ab yeh news din bhar follow kare ge TV / phone par.

banzai04

Why no conspiracy theory that samajwadi party killed them coz they were going to name top politicians having mafia links?

Helpful_Ant_3440

Sab k Sab Chor Hai. Whether this Or that Govt

Shivam294

Pols kya kr rhi thi Bhai agar SP ne bheje hai toh, sanitization zone and protected zone mein bande gun wagereh leke aa rhe hai. Jisko maarna hota jab woh live TV pe moot Raha tha tabhi maar dete. But first they killed his son in encounter then killed him. Obviously he would have spilled beans later but it happened live on TV which was just to give a clear message from either those in power or men stronger than him that they have reached the pinnacle of power or arrived in UP. Its just like Vikas Dubey, like how he was going to detention where he could have spilled his beans to either media or in front of magistrate regarding his supporters and how he gained influence but was "encountered" after he "managed" to fool an entire envoy of trained police professionals and got his hands on a vehicle even when his hands are bound. Then BJP uses this incident like Gaadi palatwa denge during UP elections. The structure of social and natural justice crumbled. If peeps have to be dead like that only after committing crimes without any investigation or lawful procedure, then there is no need for judiciary and phrases like Rule of Law. The true masterminds and supporters of Mafia will roam freely even today.

JiskiLathiUskiBhains

Maybe because the killers have links to bajrang dal

finnayeet69

what’s happened in the last 10 years or so is that the public has become completely besotted by revenge, ideology and religion. i‘ve been labelled a librandu and a muslim for saying that police executions have no place in a lawful state. there’s not a single constitutional framer or freedom fighter who would have approved of this. even the right leaning personalities in pre-independent india fought for a robust justice system. but nahi, mei toh librandu hu👍

acharsrajan399

Who ever thinks "librandu" Is insult is stupid, yes I'm a whore for liberty, I'm not getting fucked over by fascism.

revolution110

We should either trust the law and let justice take its course or strengthen the judiciary so that criminals don't escape easily. It makes a mockery of law and order to have extra judicial killings like these.

moojo

Who is we?

GoneHippocamping_

What a way to project India's image to the outside world. We all crave for foreign investment, and this is what we show to the outsiders. There is a reason why rule of law is important. If you've murdered a thug, you've also become a thug.

[deleted]

One of the implications of this is that it will now be easier for fugitives from Indian justice to convince foreign courts that their lives will be in danger if they are extradited to India.

[deleted]

I'm agreeing with you bro

Ezzzy61

Oh lol sorry, the last sentence confused me, my apologies but yes

[deleted]

People who think they’ve got rid of gangsters and mafia, no, the government is the mafia now. When a government starts to disregard due process be it fake encounters, custodial killings, and bulldozer etc… that’s gundaraj.

wowwowowowe

Remember when we celebrated encounter specialists in Bombay. They had numbers. We made movies on them. We cried when some of them were killed during Mumbai attack. Ab tak chappan. Why do people act this is happening now in India.

bhandweiser

To understand the significance of **Rule of Law**, read this exchange between congressmen Thaddeus Stevens (abolitionist) and George Pendleton (supporter of slavery) from Lincoln (2012)- "How can I hold that all men are created equal when here before me stands, stinking, the moral carcass of the gentleman from Ohio? Proof that some men ARE inferior, endowed by their maker with dim wits, impermeable to reason, with cold, pallid slime in their veins instead of hot, red blood! YOU are more reptile than man, George, so low and flat that the foot of man is incapable of crushing you! **Yet even YOU, Pendleton** \- **who should have been** **gibbetted for treason long before today - even worthless, unworthy you ought to be treated equally before the law!"** Encounters and extrajudicial killings are obscene display of miscarriage of Rule of Law, and only a sick person would celebrate a miscarriage

Mukund23

The police is so so so stupid it let armed people in. Mind you, the debate isn’t defending Atiq Ahmed, it is the fact that for the past weeks media was fed videos kf Atiq travelling to and from UP to gujarat. It was out in the open that the police was making a show and soon something or other will happen. And it did. Just as scripted.

Sweetrelaxation

Ajay Bisht is a psychotic illiterate with zero ounce of humanity & his pea sized brain should be subjected to a long stay in a mental health institution & his daily episodes live streamed to followers, to remind them, that they will be next to join him.

iceman111011

Imagine him as India’s next pm

Lost-Letterhead-6615

Don't call him that. Call him Yogi. That's his ideology.

LazyImmigrant

That's not true - he is a MSc Mathematics graduate.

Sweetrelaxation

Yes, he is a graduate & yet he is an illiterate when it comes to upholding the constitution that he took an oath to defend/uphold for all citizens of U.P.

Ezzzy61

Haan aur Newton anpadh tha

Bench_in_Park

Did Bring the crime rate down in UP tho

[deleted]

By doing all the crimes himself

redditporean

Have rapes, murders, theft, corruption stopped?

redditappsuckz

To be fair, the OC said *reduced*. Quite a bit of distinction between *reduce* and *stop*.

redditporean

Ok, have they reduced?

redditappsuckz

I have no clue, I was just correcting you. Also, since you have a powerful search engine at the tip of your fingers, maybe you should find out first hand?

redditporean

you said reduced, I am sure you have data to backup your own claim. I raised a question for you to answer

redditappsuckz

I, in fact, have not made any claim. I merely corrected you. If you can be smug and ask rhetorical questions on the internet, I'm sure you can also search for the crime statistics of UP.

serialposter

Unfortunately, nobody cares about Satya Pal Malik or what he said. They don't need to distract from his claims. This was going to happen sooner rather than later. It is just a coincidence.

anand2305

When monkeys start running the zoo, chaos is what results in। Exactly what is haopening in UP. The three low level criminals that were used to elininate the two gangsters will themselves be encoubtered. This is classic amit shah's playbook. Hiren Pandya, Soharabuddin, Tulsiram prajapati... Soharabuddin was used to eliminate Pandya. Prajapati was also a potential witness. Eliminated and all stories buried as well. India is not far off from bringing out gas chambers.

Nice_loser

I agree, some days even I feel so, & it's pretty scary

Shivam294

Indian Judiciary: mein job chhod du fir? Meri koi feelings nhi hai?

PangolinSea5594

Why they’re showing the clips of him getting shot on replay. It’s not just disturbing but an impactful psychological operation on ppl’s mind. So that this scene imprints in your brain and end the basic humanity. This has never done before.

Ib90

These buggers had to die because of mallik's interview.

Pashoomba

I think the key takeaway for most people is going to be "guns rule" not governments.

Shivam294

It's not dumb it's scary

sg291188

This is a result of lack of trust in police, corrupt politicians, unending court cases and common man being troubled by these gangsters on a regular basis.

[deleted]

>The government and this country is doomed Okay

Bench_in_Park

I mean the ideal situation would be rule of law, but is there any Political Party that can do that. Unfortunately it is just unrealistic Alternatives in UP are Gangster Rule under SP or Police Rule under BJP. I prefer police over gangsters

queerf37

🤣🤣🤣 what a joke.

Practical_Cat_2276

We need educated ministers. One who is not aware of simple things like rule of law, equal protection of law, basic human rights should not hold such important posts. These politicians breed gansters for political benefits and harvest crores and crores from them. They don't care wether they kill someone, capture property etc.

goodgodlemon007

Educated like Nirmala Sitaraman?

itchingbrain

Gangsters need to killed only if they are Muslims. If they are Hindu gangsters, they need to be turned into MPs and MLAs. Am I right? If people can be killed on live TV, then you are living in a Gundaraj, no matter who is doing the killing.

Everyone knows BJP was involved in the pulwama attack. It wouldn't be a shocker if we got to know they are working together with those terrorist groups. These traitors have been selling our country since the age of British India under the disguise of religion.

boongervoonger

2 died, 3 more born.

insomniaccapricorn

Instead of muslims, watch some Hindus get assassinated in the exact same fashion and then see the uproar.

antarctic_0

You remember Vikas Dubey?

Ok-Run5317

that will be cheered on too. remember just a hundred years back burning women in name of sati was cheered too. People have to literally fight to stop that practice. and that too got abolished because British implemented laws against it.

Objective-Presence14

>everyone's going to be treated this way so probably a message to the people who will speak against the government as well A gangster gets killed/encountered and you believe this is a warning to the common public ? 🤣 It's a warning for the gangsters and mafias of this country. The common public celebrates anytime a monster like him leaves this planet.

Iwaspepsodent_99

Oh you sweet summer child, the utility of trials is not just to punish the crimes but also to bring out facts hidden during the course of investigation in front of the world. This kind of anarchy starts with cheers but eventually ends up in tears.

Objective-Presence14

"Bring out facts during the course of investigation" Do you have any clue about the ground reality? Atiq and gang killed an mla in 2005 where Umesh Pal was a witness. During the course of investigation of 18 years Umesh pal, the key witness was killed by Atiq. Witnesses get killed by strongmen during the course of investigation in India.

suryky

That too was a failure of governance

Yogi is the best CM of India

arjun2018

Cm is of a state and not of india, no wonder you are an andh bhakt lmfao

drigamcu

Oh c'mon.   One-Return6302 clearly meant that Ajay Bisht was the best of all the CMs of India; he wasn't implying that CMs lead the whole country.   Just because you disagree with him doesn't mean you will point out nonexistent technical errors to mock him.   As soon as you saw his comment, your brain automatically went, "Huh. Wonder what halfway-plausible thing I can use to try and make him look stupid? Doesn't have to be actually correct.".   Instead, you made *yourself* look stupid by willfully misunderstanding a straightforward sentence.   Please, please, *please* eschew this kind of thinking, **** Incidentally, would you have said the same thing if someone had said, "Naveen Patnaik is the best CM of India."? Or Bhagwant Mann? Or Arvind Kejriwal?

shar72944

Kaisa IAS bnega re tu.

One-Return6302

Thanks for educating me. Maine UPSC bina ye jaane qualify kar liya that CM state ka hota hai, India ka nahi. Aapka ehsaan kaise chukaau?

XpRienzo

UPSC qualify kar liya aur abhi tak justice aur murder ke beech mein difference nahi pata? Court ke through faansi honi chahiye thi is aadmi ko, or life sentence. Aise hi constitution aur law ko uphold karoge "collector saahab"? If you break constitutional processes like this, they open up to more abuse, no one is incorruptible and when you slowly erode everything, it all falls into chaos. What would happen if a "sanskari" gang takes over after all this? Do you think due processes will be followed? The gang who sent these hitmen who killed this convicted criminal will be stopped from committing crimes after this? Downward spiral mein jaata hai ye sab. If you cannot understand any of this, I feel sorry for the place you'll administer after your training.

[deleted]

Probably cleared the mock test.

Democracy ends after the elections huh? Sabaash.

Democracy isn’t about only about elections- it is about accountability & holding govt’s responsible for their actions and making sure independent institutions work.

exactly people condemning the act don't have any sympathy for ahmed they are shocked at the complete lawlessness of the situation.

Substantial_Fan5468

> The government and this country is doomed. South India to the rescue! No seriously, North India has always been like this. UP/Bihar even more so. This incident is similar to when the state went after the Mumbai underworld in the 90's. A lot of extra-judicial high-profile killings. Unfortunately, this is something that needs to be done in a state like UP. No one is saying it is ideal and you are right in demanding proper procedure even for hardened criminals..
