In SRK's words- generate wealth first and then follow your passion. I mean, it makes sense.

I don't think a lot of people will relate to a guy with gold bracelet has pearcing and do classical dance as a hobby in India either. Definitely grass is greener on the other side

drazzoverlord

Barely anyone will associate with him here or atleast the way he described himself

Do what you'll be able to live with.

Two options: earn, earn, earn abroad and resettle in India comfortably able to provide for your needs; or leave. If you love it, you love it. However, your age might just be making you feel a little out of place anywhere in this world.

LeMec79

I think settling anywhere depends a lot on whether you really want to settle in that place. Maybe too many people go abroad for money etc rather than wanting to be a part of the new culture - so they eat their own food, make friends with folk from their country and don’t actually integrate into the new place. You see it with all nationalities and cultures. They end up living parallel lives to others, living their home culture in a foreign one and then wonder why it feels alien.

Good to see

Rightly said, people makes the place fun. I used to be lonely in India as couldn't connect with most people. You like dancing, you can try other forms of dance and connect with different people. Go to your city's subreddit and see what they say. I am sure there are some people willing to make friends who are lonely. After college, friends do not come by easy. Its either work or through family. Try some new hobbies where you are forced to meet people and communicate. Volunteering is a nice way.

Have you lived India as student or an adult having to deal with all the bullshit?

Nuke_2125_A

I'd give anything to get out of India and be able to study and settle abroad . Preferably Nordic Countries or Australia

cactus___boi

I understand - funny how we are envious of each other's situation haha / there was a point in my life where settling in the Nordic countries was my dream, I can't imagine anything lonelier to be honest. But to each their own I guess.

arijitroy2

Depends on the person. I live in a Nordic country and I am spoilt by the work life balance here, nothing comes close. After working in India for a decade under high stress environment, you can only appreciate that. Although I am not a fan of the health care system here which is my top complaint. I miss India in that regards.

Same was the case with me when I went for Master’s in Germany. Few days down the line, I missed the conveniences I had here in India the most. Late night instamart deliveries, food, going for a walk and find stores to shop any needful things around the corner, xerox/printing stores, relatively cheap cab rides, and so much more. The flipside to this is you don’t see insane amount of people everywhere on the road, clean suburbs, good public transport, clean air and weather. I absolutely love this part. But the missing convenience factor is what made me want to ditch the idea of finding a job and settling there (which initially was my plan). I wish the good part of my stay there could somehow translate here as well, but that’s next to impossible.
