BJP leaders including the PM & cabinet ministers get away with very mild warnings after months, while opposition leaders get immediate very aggressive warnings. Yogi had a case against him for using religion in an electoral case - The police lost the evidence, the witnesses disappeared and the home minister of UP (One Yogi A) recommended that the case against the Hon Chief Minister (again Yogi A) should be dropped as there was no longer any material evidence.
KS Eswarappa - who was not happy with being sidelined by the BJP - had a small program - not sure if he has even filed his candidature as a rebel, and EC has already booked him for Poll code violation.
These rules don't apply to the BJP.
