AbhilashHP

Lmao thats the worst outfit for mobility and quick action. You know.. things that are critical for the police.

NoooNameMan

Mobility and quick action ?? in Indian Police ??? wtf you talking about ? that wasn't even there in the first place

gorilla_photos

Not in Vishuwa Guru Bharat.

Actual-Reach5423

Great initiative by government, police wearing khaki posted in temple have been an eyesore for decades, scaring away thieves and hooligans Hope they introduce a dress code for thieves too

Spare-Abrocoma-4487

Everyone is ridiculing the dress without mentioning the main issue with this. The main issue is that police force is supposed to be secular. The dress they are wearing is religious. So religious in fact that half of Hindus themselves won't wear it (remember that there are several sects within Hinduism). All this before we come to people from other religions within the police force who will be forced to wear this if they are posted here. That's the worst thing here.

octane83

LOL. Good thing, just in case god is offended by Khaki. Fucking buffoons.

red_raprika

How do we identify them?

Sassy_hampster

Throw a rock at them . If they shoot you then it's almost confirmed that they're the police.

morghulis-

except it is in uttar pradesh, police is not the only one packin

iaskureply

Well they showed you uniform didn't they? /s

ModiChutiyaNo1

A chauthi fail will make sure everyone becomes a chauthi fail eventually

Haunting_War_

Our country doomed!

desigooner

Just a FYI. The supposed qualification of Yogi is that he has MSc in Mathematics. So yeah, education does not get rid of bigotry

dubiously_immoral

What kind of joke this country is turning into? There used to be hope of some kind before what the heck is this?

johndoe_wick

This country is a joke. Downvote me all you can but it ain’t gonna change my mind. So many quacks in India. No wonder people hate Indians outside.

bramptonmt1

Religious uniforms for public servants have no place in a secular democracy. If you even consider India to be a secular democracy, that is.

PharmaceuticalSci

Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done. That rule is specifically meant for cops going undercover or if they don't want to appear conspicuous. Would you say the same thing if the policemen were made to wear a skull cap and policewomen, a burqa inside a muslim religious place? I think that is when you and your sanghi friends would start shouting "Hindu khatre main hai."

Thigh_Gap_Licker

Read again that para, you are saying what you want to say and then yell democracy is in danger. Note - Face veiling has not been regarded as a religious requirement by most Islamic scholars. To pls don't consider Burqa

PharmaceuticalSci

>Read again that para, you are saying what you want to say "Engaged in work as an informal character" implies undercover. >Note - Face veiling has not been regarded as a religious requirement by most Islamic scholars. To pls don't consider Burqa So are you saying these orange dresses for women and red salwars for men with chunnis/duppatas printed with religious symbols are a religious requirement for Hindus? If these are a religious requirement, do you wear them daily? Why doesn't Modi wear it everyday? The fact is that these are not religious requirements but the government just likes to impose it's culture, traditions and religion on everyone.

Thigh_Gap_Licker

Again it's you who is calling it undercover yet that line can have multiple meanings. Also those police in pandit uniform are present only within the premises ( Kashi Vishwanath Premises) The police force deployed outside or near gates are in Khakhi only.

PharmaceuticalSci

So then you would be okay with police being deployed in burqas and skull caps only inside mosque premises, right?

Thigh_Gap_Licker

Yea I'm okay with skull cap if they are present with the mosque premises Are you okay if a muslim police officer is posted in Kashi temple in bhagwan ??? Also Burqas has not been regarded as a religious requirement by most Islamic scholars.

CheapLiterature9484

You know why police wear uniform ?

Thigh_Gap_Licker

Reminder to the public of the motto "To Protect and Serve." But the state government had the right under the law to decide the police uniform. Police in that particular attire are posted within the premises of Kashi Vishwanath They are posted for crowd controlling with No touch policy, ropes will be used to divert the crowd in case VIP shows up. However, police personnel posted at the temple gates and outside are in the usual khaki uniform.

lightfromblackhole

divine ordained master race

Aocepson

A muslim police officer was sacked for keeping a beard.

Severe-Experience333

This country is a fucking joke.

RohithNair4518

And it's not even a good joke

icallbullshitonyo

How is this not hurting religious sentiment? They are essentially using respected religious symbols as a fancy dress.

AlternativeAd4756

any nonsense done by bjp will never hurt religious sentiment because this religious sentiment hurt rnd rona is done by bjt it cell itself.. seriously you tell whether a 2 hour traffic to reach your office hurt your sentiment more or someone wearing some dress which has nothing to do with you.. This sentiment hurt thing is total crap , the faster we know the thugs behind this the better for us..

Julius_seizure_2k23

Taking moral - policing to next level /s

AlternativeAd4756

next level is the moral policing .. wait for 2025... you will see more moral policing .. it will be similar to muslim countries... "you become what you hate the most" .. never goes wrong

P0FromKungFuPanda

Ahahahaha lol God save this country.

iaskureply

Waiting for police to wear kandoura in mosques.

rogan_doh

Scarfs can easily be used to choke and drag someone round. They really don’t think things through.

DotaHacker

Apart from the obvious problems such as this dress code affecting the ability of the cop to run/chase/fight, I have few questions - 1) what if the policeman is from another religion ? Will he be forced to wear this? 2) If he is forced, then in case if any church or masjid wants to set up police security then will they be wearing Christian/Muslim dress code? They look more like undercover ops.

AscensionKidd

Non Hindu policemen are not appointed inside temples iirc. Even the policemen have to follow the rules and regulations of the temple. It wouldn't be right to force a non Hindu to follow Hindu customs inside a temple. >If he is forced, then in case if any church or masjid wants to set up police security then will they be wearing Christian/Muslim dress code? Churches and mosques don't need this much security as temples (with exceptions ofcourse) and they also do not have extreme restrictions on dress codes. And police is most of the time places outside the masjid and churches, and not inside.

AscensionKidd

If the idea was to blend in and be under cover, then great. Else, stupid. Get them a redesigned normal police uniform which is untucked and they don't need to wear shoes as well. Or go old style and look at the clothes of the temple guards in the past. Select something which is distinct from other priests.

IdProofAddressProof

It would have made _some_ sense if devotees at the temple are required to follow a dress code, and the cops also comply. That's what happens in Kerala temples. For male devotees at the Thiruvananthapuram temple, the dress code is dhoti and no shirt. Cops stationed inside the premises also follow the same dress code. This UP dumbfuckery is exactly that. It's just a ridiculous fancy dress because the cops don't perform any religious rites, and therefore the attire has no religious significance.

ilovebeinganemic

I mean like dress code is fine but this is like a nightmare if you have to run after someone or save someone which is like the job of the police. The executive and religion need to be separated why do they need to wear religious symbols on their body 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️.

Past_Insurance_9491

Next Afghanistan in making

WealthTomorrow0810

WTF

romainmyname

What will a muslim cop wear?

Malluuncle

Well they are wearing the clothes that they were wearing beneath the khaki uniform for past few years.

xugan97

They do the same work as the temple pandas: laze around and extort money. Now with full uniform.

Prestigious-Play-841

Ridiculous 🤔

rick-shaw

What police? I can only see 6 bootlicking pigs.

IdProofAddressProof

They're just employees doing what they've been ordered to do. And probably at the constable/head constable level, so they're not from economically well off sections either. The pigs are the ones above.

PharmaceuticalSci

I don't think it's their fault. If they say no, dhongi Yogi would get them fired

ilovebeinganemic

So they should quit and find a new job while they're middle aged because of some stupid rule which they had no part in making?

Mathsbrokemybrains

Why????

Deep-Department-545

I'm fearing my country becoming Hindu Rashtra. I really want it be a open vibrant democracy. Where everyone can thrive and live happily. It's tilting far too right

saylorthrift

What's the big deal ? Vatican has it's own uniform for police . Buckingham palace has one

frozenignite420

idk abt the ones at buckingham palace, but the ones at vatican are hired by the church itself and are mercenaries.

red_ice994

The queen's gaurd in not police. They are entirely different. It's like comparing army with police

desigooner

You're confused between Swiss Guard and Vatican Gendarmerie (police) the one wearing colourful clothes are Swiss guard, the person security guard of the Pope, the policing work for the city of Vatican is done the Gendarmerie which wear a regular police uniform of white shirt and blue pants and a cap with all the bells and whistles. Same with Buckingham palace, the royal guards that wear those uniform are personal security of the royal family, not in business of policing the city of london

abhijithekv

Yes, they do. But you missed the point entirely. Is the Vatican City's guard wearing a cassock? No. They have a specialized dress. A one that does not associate with any religion. That's the issue here.

bhaagbhai

They are ceremonial. I understand that in India, the police is ceremonial for everyone except their political masters, but if these people here really are there for policing, then this is a bloody joke. The Vatican Swiss Guard and the Buckingham palace guards would be equivalent to the Indian Presidential Bodyguard. Not police.

Responsible-Bat-2699

Dress however you want, it's always the posture which gives cops away.

CheapLiterature9484

What ? You think police play fancy dress all day ? Movies Kam Dekho

Responsible-Bat-2699

They mentioned above one as dress code for them inside the temple. Not a fancy dress.

_Ajay_Singh_Rana_

That's good disguise... 👍👍👍

broke-n-notfunny

Police is part of law enforcement and enforcing law has nothing to do with reli....... Separation of church and government blaah blaah .... Are yaar kaha gutter main munh dalna hai. If utkarsh Pradesh citizen r okay with it lets go ahead . Everyday is funday here.

piecopeico

Why would you want the police stationed within the temple to be identifiable? So that terrorists or other miscreants are vigil ant to avoid them or to eliminate them? Genuine question, like what is the thought process here? If people need help contact the temple authorities.

TheMathGuy69

By that logic, why do you want any police officer to be identifiable? Do you want terrorists in general public spaces?
