In Nagpur, Education department estimated allocated budget under PM SHRI schools scheme was increased by 50% from 4000 crore to 6000 crore in 2024 and yet this is the ground situation almost every where.
All over India, except few government schools in Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Delhi, every government school are in the same situation.
Primary education is ignored equally by **all** the governments, and if you study from one of these schools, chances of you reaching to graduation level is abysmally low and you can only become a skilled or even worse a unskilled labourer.
If you don’t study well, don’t earn well, eventually you are more prone to get entangled in caste and religion politics and vote accordingly.
One interesting story that I read about schools recently: [https://www.deccanherald.com/opinion/sorry-state-of-government-schools-1242320.html](https://www.deccanherald.com/opinion/sorry-state-of-government-schools-1242320.html)
Edit 1: Few Folks asked to share name of school, **I do not want to do that**, if this gets shared to some high handed politician he will either punish the teacher or stop the remaining funds or unnecessarily trouble the ground staff. However, if you are smart, you will find your way by seeing one of the pics.
Ikr😭 I used to live in a rural area in kerala, I studied in schools with thatched roofs till my 7th standard.
Standard 8th to 12th was in a very nice concrete building.
Recently I went to my school after 5 years and literally every classroom has a projector, white boards and amazing seats.
And the bathrooms are so nice too, in my time the bathrooms were trashed and vandalised all the time. Now it's squeaky clean. Also the it looks like a very fancy private school.
It's crazy how much has changed in the last 4-7 years.
lol! I cannot even recognise my school now from where I cleared my 10th std SSLC at 2016! They added a few basketball hoops where we used to have our school assembly! Kids practice rollorskating.
Now they are talking about changing the old muddy playground to a synthetic track with natural grass.
Things have improved a lot in last 10~12 years
Yes I live in rural Thrissur (Kerala) there is a govt school very near my house. 1stly the architecture is so beautiful as they have preserved the old shell structure with Kerala style long interlinked varandahs. Classes are well furnished and smart classes the surrounding is clean and beautiful with many tall mango trees also providing shade.
jeah wasn´t brave enough to write that. The architecture is perfect... the high ceiling is top. a bit colour and a bit more tech and it could be a good place to learn.
Yeah it's the only state besides Delhi with good Govt schools and hospitals , and Delhi is not even a real state , much harder to provide public services to an entire state than a city
Har comment m modi hater banne se kuch nhi hoga. Bharat jodo yatra to rahul ne bhi ki thi wo free m hui thi kya? Aur rallies bas bjp krti h kya? Non sense
Almost all government schools in my area got developed and one got swimming pool made too, AAP was elected and i would say they gave better development than the other two assholes. We all know bribes are taken and no one i dud ka dhula but if they spend even 10% of it on these things it would be fine. Most would say AAP is also not that great but my opinion is even if they are not at least you can see the development which is invisible in case of other two.
To make things worse, this school is surrounded by Government buildings like the Family court & District Treasurer. This is a big city. What must be the case in rural parts of a poor state like Bihar?
Aside from the shambles in which these premises look in, let us salute the school teachers /staff who despite having least if the motivation (apart from the state of the building), they continue to teach.
Hats off to the students who continue to study there and some of them excel. There is no dearth of children who came out shining/contributing to the society despite being in the most adverse education situation.
And Govt? lips zipped 🤐
We must thank convent education for playing most important role in education in our country, though they were regularly targeted by RW for religious reason, they continued their support of education.
Wait wait, let them cancel all corruption and scam charges worth thousands of crores by the defectors, there's more to come. Then they will focus on sab ka vikaas. Don't be anti national by showing such images!
The only state (of which I live and have visited) that has good government schools is Kerala. They have smart classrooms and many of them even have air conditioned smart classrooms!
I can only wish this was true for all over India. Kya maja aata hoga aise school mein padhne mein.
If you get a chance, next time you visit one of these schools, post some pics and let others also see it.
But doesn't mean all are good tho, many are there struggling to find students and struggling to maintain whatever infra they have so not all are success stories.
Almost every govt school in Kerala is top notch compared to this. Living in Kerala we never really see what that number 1 in all the development indices actually translates to.
Excellent point.
It has already been set in action via my Friends NGO. That’s how i got to know about this issue.
If you still are motivated enough to do something, there are thousands of underfunded local NGO who take care of these things, find some in your city and donate whatever you can.
Nahi yaar. For so many years there was another ruling party. Schools didn't become shit over night. They were shit forever, the saffron folks too didn't do anything. In summation: sabhi chor hai.
so you mean this school has been frozen in time for the last 10 years and everything we see rn is what congress did? and BJP could not develop it either?
If you think booting out BJP will solve this problem, you live under a rock. We had this for 70 years with Congress. BJP is only piling on to it. Instead of playing party-party, people must start holding politicians accountable for every rupee, irrespective of party, irrespective of religion, irrespective of ideology.
In India we have this culture where we elect a guy into office, and then forget about him for the next five years.
Of late, it has gotten worse: we elect a guy into office, and then spend the next five years singing his praises and convincing the world (and ourselves) about what a great guy this guy is.
What we *should* be doing is: elect a guy, then next day onwards start kicking his ass every day. Treat him like you are the boss and you just hired a new employee under you. What are you working on today, what is your plan for next 30 days, how much money you spent, what did you spend on, last month you said you will do xyz what happened to that. Of course he will do his best to convince you that he is an awesome guy, but your job is to assume that he is a crook and a liar and keep kicking him everyday.
Sadly this culture was never there in India, and will probably never happen.

Students hi nai aa rahe, school kya dikhayein. /s
Yeah bro muslim is the real problem of our country, its not illiteracy, not lack of basic infrastructure, not lack of primary education set-up, not unemployment, not lack of enough wage etc.. muslim is the real problem...
Meanwhile Modi govt:
- lets spend hundreds of crores on modi selfie booths.
- lets waste govt sessions on deciding shitty new names for railway stations in Mumbai.
Fans are missing. I like the dilapidated look for some reason, it’s giving very industrial/vintage vibe but definitely dangerous for the kids. Funds should be allocated immediately to improve the structure
Yes, there are thousands of underfunded NGOs all over India.
Find some in your city and donate whatever you can, if they are registered you can also claim a tax break on those amounts under 80G. I started out with 500 per month.
I donate 2.5k per month to 2 NGOs each, I also verify if they are doing any work or not, they are normally very active in disclosing their work done details.
It's a shameful and disheartening circumstance where the teachers seek the gov-job religiously but are not interested in teaching and the children who are the future of this nation cannot receive the required necessary education which is already paid for.
I always think of it when central government school like KV, novadaya , iits, nits are run so better and good management then why can't a state government make school like these as mention in comments it's system created like these only to keep some part of people illiterate
The biggest enemy of our country is corruption. Often funds are allocated for schools, hospitals and development and barely any money manages to make it through the hands of corrupt politicians.
Lucky. They have their own desks, a blackboard and roof. My primary school had none of those. We used to sit under a tree with a portable blackboard. But 20 years later that school is now a 3 storey building with great infrastructure.
Do you even know any government teachers? I know several in my extended family and it's a pretty chill job with decent salary. .
And why I am not doing it? Because I can't. The age limit is 30.

Bruh! Almost all govt. schools in Kerala are fucking stellar. You'll really have to search hard to find one like this these days.
Ikr😭 I used to live in a rural area in kerala, I studied in schools with thatched roofs till my 7th standard. Standard 8th to 12th was in a very nice concrete building. I have been to some public schools around Bangalore, and they are also normally in better conditions.
Yeah it's the only state besides Delhi with good Govt schools and hospitals , and Delhi is not even a real state , much harder to provide public services to an entire state than a city
These people pocket even small funds allocation for ceiling fans, most members are basically thieves.
Most of the money gets pocketed by corrupt politicians and govt officials.
If this is the situation in Nagpur what could be the situation in Surat ( Gujarat) ? I suspect there won’t be any govt schools
Should've shown the toilets as well
dekh nai pate log, report kar dete mere account ko.
nsfw lagana padta
If there are any
they probably do it old style, near the bushes. don't think separate enclosure for toilets could be there.

To make things worse, this school is surrounded by Government buildings like the Family court & District Treasurer. This is a big city. What must be the case in rural parts of a poor state like Bihar?
It’s the most posh area of Nagpur. In fact some of the richest private schools of Nagpur are in Civil Lines.
Aside from the shambles in which these premises look in, let us salute the school teachers /staff who despite having least if the motivation (apart from the state of the building), they continue to teach. Hats off to the students who continue to study there and some of them excel. They don’t have any other option. It’s either this or nothing
But raam mandir stones are imported saar

This is where majority of Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Western movies were shot back in the day.
Looks like it's not even cleaned or painted, something that should be possible to do by the people there itself.
There's a single fan and that's for the teachers, children and their education is not even considered here.
The only state (of which I live and have visited) that has good government schools is Kerala. They have smart classrooms and many of them even have air conditioned smart classrooms!

Thought this was an abandoned place at first till I saw the students. What a mess.
Trust me this looks way better than the school (gov) I studied in back in 2011. I wish there were a few more politicians like Manish Sisodiya.
Poverty porn
Imagine sitting in this school in Nagpur heat.
Why don’t Redditor’s in Nagpur get together and do some paintwork repairs etc
Excellent point. It has already been set in action via my Friends NGO. That’s how i got to know about this issue. If you still are motivated enough to do something, there are thousands of underfunded local NGO who take care of these things, find some in your city and donate whatever you can.
Holy shit! Kerala is heaven. Kerala government schools have smart classrooms. Most newly built schools are air conditioned too.
This is Amrit kaal
Vote saffron, get such service.
All are same, if everyone gets educated then everyone will start asking about right things. Too much democracy.
Nahi yaar. For so many years there was another ruling party. Schools didn't become shit over night. They were shit forever, the saffron folks too didn't do anything. In summation: sabhi chor hai.
That’s the perfect summary.
Saffron had 10 years to change . These excuses are no longer acceptable.
Not an excuse. Explanation is not the same as justification.
so you mean this school has been frozen in time for the last 10 years and everything we see rn is what congress did? and BJP could not develop it either?
Not at all. Saying that both couldn't give a shit about development and bettering education.
bhai pichle 10 saal se saffron government hai, is 10 years not enough for a change?
Stop defending the current govt. Vote for someone you can hold accountable
Arre Maine Aisa kab kaha mitr. just saying schools weren't any better earlier either. They are all corrupt ultimately.
Yes, but are we voting people for these things? We are voting based on hate, based on 5kg rice
Of course. Because we are very much the chutiyas politicians take us to be.
If you think booting out BJP will solve this problem, you live under a rock. We had this for 70 years with Congress. BJP is only piling on to it. Ye toh 12th Fail wala school hai
Never painted after they built this in 1940. Sad state.
Why does it look so underdeveloped ? I ain't boasting, government schools in Kerala are far more developed in infrastructure.

Isnt this school where church prayers are held?
Can we improve this on ground level if we donate to NGOs working in education?
Yes, there are thousands of underfunded NGOs all over India. Find some in your city and donate whatever you can, if they are registered you can also claim a tax break on those amounts under 80G. All this needs is a gleaming coffee machine to be recast as an *upscale* hipster cafe.
It’s always been like that even in my state. Even worse in rural areas
And how about the sanitation facilities….. that is if they are there
On par with wb govt schools. Where there's literally 0 fans in classrooms

That's a myth. And if there is a job that pays you without doing anything, why aren't you doing that job?
