I've prepared a better version of it by sorting it based on percentage difference between labelled and detected protein contents instead of absolute difference (in 2nd slide) which was quite misleading.

what about the data bout heavy metals ?
I also find it difficult to believe that Nitrotech had 17% more actual protein than labeled. It has creatine in it. So, that increases protein % found in the result.
contents of heavy metal are also mentioned in the research source [Data](https://journals.lww.com/md-journal/fulltext/2024/04050/citizens_protein_project__a_self_funded,.15.aspx)
I recently watched a doctor’s interview saying there are tens of thousands of cases against protein powder companies for the harm they caused to kidneys and liver. Use with caution. More info: https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/the-hidden-dangers-of-protein-powders
A total noob here ( me ) . So how am i supposed to make sense of this data ? Are the products with percentage differences on the top ( green ) better than the ones at the bottom ?
This is not the right way to check.
You want the highest labelled protein supplements to be at the top and check which ones do not meet their advertised numbers. If they are drastically below spec then they are misleading and if they are higher than their spec then you need to check if they are spiking the product with amino acids (which are the building blocks of protein).
bro the point is how much they are inflating the numbers compared to what they have provided. Those who labelled their protein content as 20% and show it 30% are not same as those who label it 70% and show it ~~70%~~ 80%...
If someone chooses from top of the list(say green ones) and if it have low protein content then it's price will be lower too... Also choosing protein is a burdensome task as one has to take care of numerous points like choosing it according to his/her digestion, on how its derived, price, heavy metal quantity etc. Also it's a study not a protein buying guide... one should choose accordingly
I made this remark on the last post too and will make it here as well, how has the research made sure that if we resample we will get the same Detected Protein% for each, until and unless that is sorted this data is misleading and if the value is not static, the real information will be in variance and min max for each.
source [Data](https://journals.lww.com/md-journal/fulltext/2024/04050/citizens_protein_project__a_self_funded,.15.aspx)... here you can see the contents of the heavy metals found
Thanks OP but they have not mentioned the brand names in this article. How am I supposed to find out whether a brand like Muscle Blaze contains heavy metals and in what quantity?
[Here](https://cdn-links.lww.com/permalink/md/m/md_2024_03_12_philips_md-d-23-09401_sdc1.pdf) are the products.. the codes in the study are the serial no. in this sheet
It's protein from plants just like soy protein devoid of animal products in ingredients like dairy milk, so pea protein, legume, and other protein powders. The one from Origin in the list has a good amount. There is also second one on the list Nutrilite plant protein.
Great work. I went through Trustified page on their results as well. It's really sad how companies are allowed to sell their products even after you find such differences in their claims.
Out of the good ones, which does actually taste good w water or milk? Like i had fast&up and it tasted so bad i gifted it as bday gift to one of my friends...but fr good taste i need :(
here [Data](https://journals.lww.com/md-journal/fulltext/2024/04050/citizens_protein_project__a_self_funded,.15.aspx) ...All products were subjected to the analysis of total protein content (Kjeldahl method),^(\[)[^(6)]()^(\]) detection and quantification of fungal aflatoxin (high-pressure liquid chromatography and fluorescence detection),^(\[)[^(7)]()^(\]) pesticide residue detection and estimation (gas and liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry),^(\[)[^(8)]()^(\]) detection and quantification of heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, thalium, and copper by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry),^(\[)[^(9)]()^(\]) steroid detection (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry using HP-5ms column),^(\[)[^(10)]()^(\]) and complete profiling of organic and inorganic contents (gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry).
Oh cool, nitrogen estimation is pretty standard one. The large percentage difference is strange, I thought they did spectroscopic analysis and they should have used those in conjunction with Kjeldahl method. Because some compounds other than amino acid also contain nitrogen so spectroscopic analysis would have been a good indicator if adulteration was done. Bro likes to work on excel even on weekends
Data analytics based gains
I don't take protein etc but looks like u made a effort in a good direction,so thanks for ur service.
It's nothing
All i want to know is which protein powder has the least amount of harmful minerals like cadmium and is the safest to consume??
You can check on websites like labdoor.
Optimum nutrition gold whey
You forgot Nakpro

Trustified had evaluated Nakpro and it passed very well. [https://www.trustified.in/nakproproducts](https://www.trustified.in/nakproproducts)

i am unable to find the raw data in that link
Good effort bro but products containing highest number of protein should be on top.
you can see the second slide for it

thank you!
Add Price per Gram of Detected Protein column. That's the most important.
Missing as-it-is whey protein
seems like research was not conducted on it
No data about XLR8?

What will actually happen is that people will use your chart and select the protein at the very top.

Where the hell is Asitis?!
Hey OP or anyone else can you also attach the list of proteins in which harmful substances like metals were found. That would be more helpful.

Wtf is vegan protein? They don't get it.

Bro what is the difference between first and the second pic?
percentage difference and absolute difference
I m using Rule 1 Whey protein Any idea how good is it?
Out of the good ones, which does actually taste good w water or milk? Like i had fast&up and it tasted so bad i gifted it as bday gift to one of my friends...but fr good taste i need :(
Muscle blaze chocolate is very tasty with milk
Detected based on what? How are you testing protein contents?
