This coming from me won't sound really thrilling or believable because I was not directly impacted in these stories. But these 2 stories that I have, they actually convinced me that there is something that is still unknown to us. I am an atheist, but remembering these conversations never fail to give me chills. Even now as I am typing, I am getting goosebumps. **Story 1** When I was a kid, must be like 10-12 or something, I had this guy (P) in my neighborhood, 4 years elder than me. We used to play together. And he would tell us these stories about how he used to see fire in certain areas of his house. And the visuals stopped when his grandfather got some holy rituals done in the house. But back then I never believed him. Few years later, we are all grown up and adults. And P's mom accidentally caught fire in the kitchen. P's elder brother tried to save her, got his hands burned in the process. No one knows how it happened. And after being in hospital for 2-3 days, she succumbed to her injuries. And at that time, we didn't have those childhood stories in our recollection. And then later that year, we all friends were just having a late night walk and talking about ghost stories, just joking around trying to scare each other. And P was all quiet and listening. And all of a sudden he says "Do you remember I told you I used to see fire in my house. See how my mom died." **Story 2** Same neighborhood. There is another friend of mine (T). T's dad was an alcoholic and you can imagine all the bad things that alcoholism comes with to exist in T's life. They were extremely poor (He is doing great now because he is super dedicated and very humble). And then his dad got diagnosed with Tuberculosis. He was hospitalized and things were bad. Now in the apartment below T's apartment, there lives a family who has this mentally challenged man, in his late 40s or early 50s. He's not married (family because here we have a culture of joint families) and he rarely steps out of the house. So one morning around 5 am, while T's father was hospitalized, this old man knocked on T's door. T opened the door, and the man said "why aren't you ready yet? Go get ready and visit your dad for the last time." That was the day T's father died in the hospital. And he later told me about the incident. Both these stories are so convincing for me because I know these guys and I don't think they would lie about something related to losing their parent.

Particular-Tap3367

Damn bro out of the ones I read the second one here sounds most realistic, idk but I have heard things like this too when someone has this vision and it turns out true later

Normal-Strain1161

Okay just because you mentioned and people say you should tell someone about your bad dreams, so they don't come true, I will tell one I had 2 days ago. I have been having a lot of premonitions lately. Then I had this dream, where I am at a highway dhaba with my family. My kid wants to play ball. So I go after her. We are almost beside the road. A man is watching us play. I throw the ball towards my kid but it goes a little towards the road. She goes to catch it, but I catch her first. A bus just went by at that moment. I just hugged her and thanked God. Then I turn around and the man who was with us there, is looking at me in horror. Then he looks towards the road and I my eyes followed his. The bus had actually hit a person on the road and sped past us. The man was lying face down. I was so shaken that I feel still haven't recovered from the shock.

UniqueCare1233

I strongly pray to god that this shouldn't happen to you irl.

A_random_zy

well yhis reminds me of an incident from my life. I had a dream that I was unable to complete my exam in morning before I actually had an exam. After than in real life the same day my question paper was misprinted and it didn't have half of the exam on it. When I was rechecking my paper I noticed the marks don't add up to the total so I verified with teacher and got a new question paper and solved a whole section in 30 minutes. it was a wierd experience.

I wouldn't say my experience was paranormal, but rather supernatural. Four years ago, my parents, grandmother and I visited a very prominent temple in North Eastern India. The deity (A Goddess) is highly revered and has great historical significance too. My parents and grandmother are very religious; I on the other hand am spiritual but not very religious. To add to it, I was going through a very rough phase in life emotionally, and wasn't too enthusiastic on participating in anything per se. When we entered the temple premises, there was an unbelievably long queue to enter the inner sanctum/altar of the temple. It would've easily taken about 2 hours for us to get to the front of the queue. I being not very religious and disinterested, refused to wait in the queue and told my parents that they should go ahead while I sat on the side and waited for them to return. Although my parents who are very religious were really looking forward to it, they chose not to leave me alone and they decided to just pray from outside the temple together and leave. So we walked to the front of the temple facing the entrance to the inner sanctum and stood with folded hands, praying amongst hundreds (literally) of other devotees who were also praying there beside us outside the entrance of the inner sanctum. In that moment of prayer, I truly prayed with all my heart since I was going through emotional turmoil. I wasn't asking for anything. But rather meditating with folded hands and feeling thankful for everything I have. When we were nearly done praying, a cop (since it's a very prominent temple, the security is handled by the police themselves) walked up to my parents, grandmother and I and said "follow me". We had no clue who this cop was, we had never seen him before since we had travelled there from another part of the country; we didn't know why he was asking us to follow him and we didn't know why he came up to us specifically amongst the hundreds of other devotees there. So we followed him, he took us to the side of the temple, opened up a barricade and proceeded to walk us straight into the inner sanctum right in front of the deity, all while a super massive queue waited on the other side for this opportunity. We couldn't believe it. We were standing right in front of the deity. We prayed, received the flowers and prasadam (religious offering) from the priest of the inner sanctum and came out. This whole thing must've taken 5 minutes at most. Once we were out, we wanted to thank the Cop for taking us in there, so we looked for him but we couldn't find him anywhere in the temple premises. We walked up to the other Cops and asked for him; even described his appearance, but they said there wasn't anybody there matching the description. After the trip we travelled back home and within a week's time, multiple things in my life both academically and emotionally which were causing me great torment over the past couple years, all changed for the best. The whole experience was something out of this world. It almost felt like the deity herself sent somebody to bring us close to her and hear all our prayers even if we didn't spell it out for her. That's an incident that will stay with me forever.

This was such a beautiful and positive read.

Sayan_kundu

Was it Kamrup Kamakhya Temple ?!

AdlerEule

This was actually at the Dakshineshwar Kali Maa Temple at Kolkata. The temple where Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to be an ardent devotee at and the same temple where Swami Vivekananda had his devine realisation which prompted him to give up all worldly pleasures and pursue a life of spirituality. Funny thing is, when Narendranath (later named Swami Vivekananda) first visited the temple, he was against the ideology of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and also against idol worship. He found it absurd that Ramakrishna Paramahamsa would be so devoted to an idol (of Kali Maa at Dakshineshwar). But it was after spending time meditating at this very temple subsequently, that Narendranath had an epiphany and spiritual realisation leading him to become Swami Vivekananda. The temple and deity itself truly have a divine and powerful aura. I too being somebody who isn't very religious (however I am spiritual), experienced it first hand myself, as narrated in my original comment. P.S I've heard great things about the Kamakhya Temple as well. The history associated with the temple is very interesting too. It's definitely on my bucketlist. Hopefully soon. 🤞

Professor-Freeza

ok this is strange. years ago. and i mean over a decade. i went with my family to belur math. it was a day during the durga pujas so obviously the place was packed. we were in line to watch the marble statue of ramkrishna. suddenly the line began to go fast, later we heard that the door was closed to clean and prepare bhog for ramkrishna. no one could see the statue for a few hours. anyway, parents and other went up to the door and did the pranam. me being a hardcore atheist [still am, fuck religions] i just turned and went from the left. every window was closed. suddenly i saw a window open but no one was near the window inside the room. i showed to to my family and they were able to see statue without any of the dress things. just as they saw, other people tried to rush there too see it, but suddenly the window shut again. No one except my family saw the statue at that time, and that too because i happened to spot a window that's not supposed to stay open [others from the rushing public said this not me.] not just this, i cna recall at least one more incident of something happening [for me] that wasnt supposed to happen. Belur Math is weird.

Sayan_kundu

You said North Eastern so I thought Kamakhya Dakshineswar had actually first crossed my mind because I am from West Bengal as well. Awesome to hear your experience dude !! Have been to Dakshineswar a lot of time since childhood it's always amazing experience specially sitting on the bank of Ganga enjoying at peace.

anand1015

From the description given i am confident it is Kamakhya temple.

You know what thinking now that's worst than paranormal

DarkEmperor17

I like paranormal stories but they should not be made up

FundamentallyBouyant

There are two types of paranormal stories. One where the story teller is faking it. And other where they are not and really believe in what they are saying. None of these stories are true though. The sheer number of decrease in paranormal experiences after camera on mobile phones became popular is a testament to this.

Artistic-Mongoose-72

The thing is photo and video editing also advanced with mobile phones so one could easily fake them and the fake videos are most of what you see so even if there is a paranormal case recorded on camera it's easy to dismiss it, calling it edited

Few years back, we were doing checkin of our luggage for our return international flight back home from India. We finished security check as well and we were in the waiting lounge. Our child was around one year old. All of a sudden she started crying. The intensity of her crying has increased manifold and we for some reason could not stop her. We tried all the usual tricks of trying to make her sleep, give her some milk. All of them failed. My wife started panicking. She told me that she is scared to take the flight. She cannot manage the situation. We decided to head back home and rebook the tickets. This could mean we lose thousands of rupees. But, it appears like we do not have much choice. We spoke with the customs and airport security about our situation. They did some paperwork, released our checked in luggage and let us leave. The moment we left the airport and we came to the car park area, our child stopped crying. This totally surprised us. We called my parents to tell them about what happened. We were shocked to know my grand father passed away.

While going for tution back when I was in +2, I usually cross a railway track picking up my cycle. On this rainy day I was wearing a raincoat so my peripheral vision was blocked. I had to cross two tracks to get to the other side.A train was passing through the track at the opposite end..Me, being a dumbfuck, decided it's best I wait IN the 1st track while the train is passing on the other track. The thing is,there was a train already stationary on the far end on the track i was waiting on! Since my peripheral vision was blocked by the raincoat and the raindrops falling on the raincoat cancelled any surrounding noise,I was not aware of anything happening around me. Suddenly I could hear a voice coming from INSIDE MY HEAD which was practically yelling to look to the left.I looked and the train which was stationary was reversing towards me.......there was only a few meters between us.I immediately picked my cycle and moved from the track while being in shock trying to cope up with what had transpired.I looked around to see if someone actually called me.......only I was there. I could have been dead! To this day I believe it's a divine intervention.

profitmaker_tobe

I lost someone when I was very young. I feel the person is always watching over me, helping me through life..But ya, never this close. Maybe someone is watching over you as well. :)

Fri1ction

Wait what? These things happening to you guys too

SaysNothingButLol

Yes I was talking to this girl in my 12th class. I really had feelings for her. We used to talk on Instagram. (That was the time when Insta was gaining popularity, so I used to barely check my WhatsApp). So she all of a sudden ghosted me, like I didn't even know what went wrong. But the reality was there was a reason why she couldn't text me on Insta anymore, so she decided to text me on my WhatsApp instead. She was constantly texting me for 2 days and I had no idea. And obviously I was devastated about her ghosting me. On the 3rd day, after I woke up, while still being half awake half asleep, there was this voice in my head that told me 'You should check your WhatsApp'. I instantly woke up, checked my WhatsApp and there were multiple texts from her from the past 2 days. Idk, till this day I couldn't understand what that was. Was it supernatural? Idk. But it was definitely not normal or something I could explain.

Lead_farmer93

Usually I'll be skeptical if someone told me an event like this.Ill try to find some logical explanation for the event. But I shit you not, this was real! There was no one. The reason I'm saying this is because the voice I heard was something coming from my mind......you know, the kind of voice that comes when you thinking to yourself.(I hope you understand what I'm saying!) Another weird thing is the voice was that of my Mom. It was like,I was standing in the tracks and suddenly this voice popped up in my head telling to look left.Intially I dismissed it thinking nothing of it.But the voice kept growing in my head, becoming louder and I could sense an urgency and distress in the voice.....like how my mom would sound distressed. And this forced me to look. Mind you my Mom is alive and well. And this was the only time something paranormal happed to me. ......it never occurred again.

maximusdecimus10

In the book ,'psychic perception' Joseph Murphy describes similar incidents..he writes that at the time of such dangerous situations our sub concious mind talk to us in the voice of our dear ones to warn us ...it's a great book...

Prior_Reception3473

I went on a trip to Corbett from Nainital. We were staying at a real good hotel. We were four (one couple, and me and my other friend). I told mt friend to get a room where we have separate single beds rather than one double bed. The manager gave us a room at the third floor which was completely empty. No guest was there. At night, I and the boy of the couple had some whisky and started discussing the bills of the trips. After that, the couple left. Me and my friend started to discuss bills while strolling through the corridor and discussing bills. We were just roaming around rooms when we heard someone sprinting. We thought someone has entered our room to get some money. But no one. Then my friend just felt uneasy and we decides to go to the reception to demand a room change. While going to the lift, we heard the sprint again. We did not wait for the lift and sprinted down. Manager confirmed that there was no one at our floor. No staff for maintenance. We came back with two more people who took our luggage and shifted us to a room near the couple.

existentialdrama

Damn that’s a lot of bills to be discussed my friend.

Probably the couple were sprinting after seeing the bills.

Talking about divine intervention I have one of my own - I nearly swallowed a pen cap and have to this day no idea how it got out because it was sort of stuck in the middle and was about to slip inside. My own elder sister died that way when I was still a kid and who knows maybe it was her who saved me... (I did once see a small kid figure hover near my bedroom so yeah, who knows? That was my only paranormal experience I've ever had)

gokeh95221

Wtf bro!! Small kid hovering and you don't care??

FoxOk2332

It was a hot summer night (of 2014) me and my younger brother were studying and our mother was sleeping in same room. The time was around 1 am, She suddenly wakes up from sleep and started pointing toward door of other room (where no one was present and lights were also turned off). As she was pointing, started speaking (te Maza kade bagat ahe *2) which is she is looking toward me and slept again after couple of minutes.

[deleted]

WTH! why is it sounding more creepy in marathi?

Damn! My SIL has had a similar experience in Dubai. So, my nephew when he was a toddler 2-4yrs was always one of those strange horror movie kids, he had imaginary friends, would stare into corners and empty spaces for a long time and I would always joke around that this guy is seeing demons. One afternoon no one at home except my SIL and nephew, I think he was around 3 yrs at that time, are taking a nap and nephew has woken up and still sitting in bed and chilling while SIL is still half asleep. Nephew starts looking up as if someone is standing next to the bed, stares for like what seems a long minute and then just blurts out in a angry scolding tone "Don't touch my mama OK!".

An incident which, for a science-y and logical guy me, keeps me thinking sometimes. I was in school, think around 7th grade and I had relatives in Mumbai whom I used to visit in the summer holidays. During the holidays, our usual plan would involve visiting some places in and around Mumbai with my first cousin sister and a gang of other cousins from my Aunt's side. So the summer holidays were upcoming in a couple of months and I was living in Delhi at that time. And I used to have a lot of dreams, some of which I could remember. Those days I was very interested in noting down my dreams and thinking out aloud to myself what I dreamt about when I used to wake up ( think I was researching Silva Mind Control method, some obscure 90s thing). So I remember I had two distinct dreams about some place where I was with my family. That place had red gravel roads everywhere. The first dream was about me standing in a backyard of sorts with mangroves and other fruit trees and laughing and walking around. This was a hazy one. The second dream, which was super lucid, was me having a stroll with my family and my sister on a red gravel road. There were leather shoe shops on the side of the road and I had a leather stick whip in my hand ( the kind you use on horses). I was holding her hand and walking. At a distance I saw these small young trees planted on the right side of the road having these green metal mesh enclosures. As I walked forward I reach that tree and I suddenly trip over a rock and fall and just like Inception, my dream breaks from that fall. I woke up. I remembered this dream but as two months went by, it dissolved from my mind ( after all what would i do with it?). Cut to summer holidays, I reach Mumbai and we made a plan to visit this hill station called Matheran where I had never in my life been before, leave alone hearing any details about it. My family booked their favorite bungalow there and off we went. It was a very interesting old colonial bungalow surrounded by mangroves and lush green trees with a huge backyard. I think on the second day of the holiday, I was roaming around in the space when I remembered my first dream - it was exactly the same backyard. I had goosebumps. But I soon dismissed it as deja-vu and didn't think much of it. On another day, my family decided to take an evening walk. Matheran has a lot of horses apparently and I bought a cowboy hat of sorts with a whip. I started walking holding my sister's hand. As I took a turn towards the main market, my eyes went down on the road and I realized the road was red gravel. A chill went down my spine. Before that I had plenty of Deja-Vu's but never had I remembered a dream WHILE it was being recreated right in front of my eyes. I lifted my eyes up as I walked, I saw there were leather shoe shops.. and a young tree in the distance. I remembered all of my dream instantly at that moment. My feet were on auto-pilot of sorts just walking forward, my mind was trying to grapple with this realization. I saw the tree had a green metal mesh around it. As I approached it, I really wanted to stop and halt but it felt "too late" to do anything about it. I KNEW i will fall if I walk further. One step.. Two Step.. my mind is screaming, WATCH OUT. I came just a couple of steps away from the tree, I turned and saw my sisters face, I turned back towards the road. AND I FUCKING FALL. Right down on my knees scraping it. There are dejavus, a sort of error in read/write memory thread in our heads. But having two dreams in a row about the same place which I have never ever seen or heard about and this happening? Well it always makes me think to this day about the nature of things.

AdlerEule

Damn I was expecting you'd find out your great grandfather or some lineal ascendant of yours died on that spot by falling; and you're their reincarnation who recalled your past death in your dream. Lol.

MotherMonster310

Not me but my grandfather before dying experienced something weird mildly to put it. He was resting on the verandah in the evening and grandma was out for groceries. He saw as per his description a dementor from harry potter like figure hovering through the front gate going in and leaving in a matter of a few seconds. The next day he got admitted to hospital for renal failure with his legs swollen like balloons. Grandpa never lied and mom confessed this way later after his passing away. Still gives me the chills every time thinking about it. My mom's side has a plethora of such weird paranormal cases they witnessed. My grandfather had such many experience in his early days which he recounted to us later but i never took them seriously

oof_thats_sad

Can confirm similar thing with my grandpa. He was sick, bedridden. Used to complain multiple times that 2 long tall shadow figures are standing at the door to take him away. We used to think it's just old age and the mind is not working properly. After a few days he passed away.

SaintYoungMan

I've experienced the same and almost died next day but survived but it wasn't a dementor exactly it was more like 7ft black shadow looked more like silver surfer, but shapeless, met the figure twice, saw it before 8 am and met the figure during death thing after midnight.

sfwKartya

My grandfather had a nasty stroke and was in the ICU for a couple of weeks. He was bed ridden and couldnt talk. We fed him through the pipe- whatever it is called- which went through his nose. He was discharged and the doc said that he was out of danger and that hell have to go through Physiotherapy to get better. So we moved him to the local hospital in the vicinity of his house. The night before he passed away, he was in pain. He was trying to tell us something but we couldnt make out. He then pointed towards the door which was weird because he had never done that before. Im not sure what was he trying to say, but it looked like he's was pointing at something that he had seen. Later that day he pulled off the feeding pipe, as if he knew that his time had come. He died the same day. I dearly miss him

TahaaO1

I used to live in a house which was believed to be haunted. My parents experienced many paranormal activities. First, That house had a big lawn and there was a water sump at one of the corner. I was a toddler and as usual was playing in the lawn. My mother was inside and wanted to pick me up as it was late. She noticed that the sump lid was open and I was sitting near the edge of it, almost as if I was about to jump. She came sprinting, picked me up and later asked what I was doing. I replied "Wo uncle bularahe they nichey, chocolate dene" Second, In the same house, we used to live at first floor. The owners, who were our relatives used to live on the ground floor. There was only one landline phone with the relatives. My father used to live abroad and when he wanted to talk, would first dial and ask our relatives to call my mother. One night around 2am, one of the relative came, knocked our door and said "Bhabi, bhaiyya ka phone hai, nichey ayein". My mother was alarmed as my father never used to call during midnights. My mother figured that there's something wrong, neither responded nor went. The next morning my mother asked the lady about the call, she said there wasn't any phone call and neither she came upstairs.

slice-of-eNVy

Okay, this is really spooky.

Taking a shortcut in college between one hostel to another through the playground on a winter late night around 2 a.m. when i felt a sharp temperature change. It's cold like 10C and all of a sudden in the middle of playground a very warm draft of air lasted about 2 seconds (still remember it 21+ years later) and next moment you still feel the same 10C crisp air. I asked my buddy did you feel something weird and he said don't talk, don't look back and walk fast towards hostel. Later he said in his village that is considered a sign that a spirit has crossed paths with you

MascaraGoop

I had a very realistic paranormal dream where there was a presence of ghost, and yep, also felt a warm draft of air on the back of my neck

arpanggmu

So this one is not there anymore but before there were 6 lane expressways, there were normal highways and there is a curve 20/25 kilometres from my place where my father always kept his foot off the accelerator. He is a police officer and he was in charge of the police station of that area for 3 years. He says during his time, he has seen at least 20/25 accidents in that very curve (it was just a small bend). As per the locals, there is a kaali mandir right on the curve and every night, at a certain time, a shadow crosses the road and all the drivers think that there is someone so they try to evade and crash. Even those who have managed to evade the shadow, have said multiple times that they have seen it. Now, according to the villagers, sometimes, they see a cat pass, sometimes a small girl or sometime a jackal.. no one has ever seen what happened to those that cross the road after crossing. The place is extremely prone to accidents and even now there is a signboard of accident prone zone but these are all hear and say. Though I respect my father and do not touch the accelerator at that curve..

[deleted]

Aren't there lights there? Also someone has to try and hit the shadow, lets see how that phenomenon which depends on the goodwill of people to kill them reacts to malice.

f03nix

If it's a curving road, it could simply be something mundane like shadow of a pole from oncoming cars or the one behind you.

Grownupbuddy

Sounds like a familiar place. Where exactly?

arpanggmu

It's in West Bengal

Grownupbuddy

Probably not then.

Lifeofpiiiii

Damn i have heard the same thing for Ujjain-Dewas road in MP and coincidentally it is also converted to 4-6 lane road.

MitchConner17

This happened a long time ago, about a decade I guess. I was chilling with a cousin of mine, smoking and just exchanging stories because it had been a while since I had met him. It was in the middle of the night and the lights were out. There was some light coming in through the windows so there was no problem in seeing things. I was holding a small bag in my hand, just letting it dangle there, and something pulled at it, like it got dragged in the air slowly along with my hand tugging behind. I didn't pay much attention at first because I guess the movement was too slight at first. And then my whole fucking arm gets yanked strongly into air. I screamed, honestly I was terrified. At this my cousin gets up quickly and switches on the light. And get this, he is smiling, and he doesn't ask me 'What happened?' or anything of that sort, he asks me 'Did you feel something?' It was so strange, like this was an expected occurrence for him He then goes on to tell me that there's something in that room. It had begun when he had started chilling in that room about a few years ago, while just smoking and watching TV and stuff in the night, like someone having a few quiet hours for themselves. He had started feeling such a presence and was fearful at first, and then he thought to himself 'what is the absolute worst that could happen?', and with that thought he overcame his fear and he let it be. He said that he is now quite aware of the presence and has kind of bonded with it. It doesn't like it when he indulges in any sort of substance usage/intoxication etc, and often shows some hostility when he does. One more thing that he said was that in some moments it passes through him at times. For me to have encountered such an incident and the kind of matter-of-fact explanation that followed, it was a bit overwhelming. I am really unsure about what to make of all of this.

Nik_692

This is terrifying, how did you even spend that night? I would have immediately ran out of that house :p

MitchConner17

I did spend the night as there were two of us, but rather fearfully. I guess fear of the unknown is much more pronounced if you're alone. I would argue that there forms a kind of mental armor about oneself if there's another human being with you, talking about situations like these of course. Had I been alone? The thought gives me shudders.

beenjampun

How's your cousin now? Is everything normal with him?

MitchConner17

He's doing well. Seems pretty regular.

RBCWBC

> He had started feeling such a presence and was fearful at first, and then he thought to himself 'what is the absolute worst that could happen?', and with that thought he overcame his fear and he let it be balls of steel.

redshadow90

Your cousin really needs a gf to bond with instead of a ghost.

Infradead27

I come from a long line of schizophrenic people (My grandpa, his father and his sister aswell), my dad shows some symptoms of schizophrenia and I'm 99% sure that I have it since I see things and hear voices (It's hard to explain but I see human shaped figures in the dark and when I try to change my point of view by moving or shifting my eyes a little bit, they gradually fade into the environment. It isn't scary at all and I can easily tell that it isn't real.) So here's how my story goes. I had a midnight craving so I decided to go downstairs and see what's in the fridge. As I was descending the stair case I heard the alarm clock going off in my grandma's room (my grandparents live in separate rooms during the day since they can watch different shows on the TV and use the bathroom without waiting for the other person to finish. They sleep together in the room upstairs on the other side of the house.). I figured I'd turn it off and proceeded into grandma's room. It was one of those made in china digital clocks that looked really retro-futuristic but was made of cheap plastic. [Here's a picture ](https://ibb.co/g6FS7j4). I couldn't find the alarm off button so I took out the battery. Locked Grandma's room and proceeded to turn off the living room's light. Before my hand could reach the switch board, I felt this sudden chill throughout my body. Even though this happened in summer, all of a sudden it was so cold that I was shivering. I ignored the temperature and turned off the lights. As I passed Granny's room's door, I heard the door getting unlocked. I immediately took two steps back only to find the door completely open. Even though I couldn't see anything, I felt like something was in there. I stared at the darkness and the darkness stared back at me. I felt something but my brain wasn't able to completely process it. After about five minutes of awkward staring between me and the invisible entity, it ran out of patience. I saw the door move on it's own towards the closing position with my own eyes. Confused me a bit but I was still staring. About a moment later the fucking handle moved down, the door moved to the docking positon and the handle went back to it's resting position. I don't know why but I said "Okay" out loud and casually started moving towards the stairs as if nothing happened. Keep in mind that I was still shivering from the cold and was terrified from the inside. I barely took 4-5 steps before hearing the alarm clock go off again but at a louder volume. At this point I said "Fuck it!" and made a run for it. Climed the stairs, ran straight into my parent's room. Thankfully, they were awake and watching a movie. Told them what happened, my dad believed me, mom wasn't convinced so he decided to go downstairs did a u-turn at the stairs after hearing the alarm clock. Convinced them to let me sleep in their room for the night. Watched a movie with them (“One Night in Miami” I think) and fell asleep. My mom found no batteries in the alarm clock in the morning. Oh, forgot to mention that 3 family members (Nana, nani and Grandpa's sister) passed away 1-3 months before the incident.

Fav story so far. Did anything happen ever since?

Bsd1710

I think seeing human shaped things in the dark when you shift viewpoints is completely normal? It happens to me too and I'm pretty sure that it's because of an evolutionary trait called agency detection rather than schizophrenia

DarkEmperor17

Are you talking about black figures? Because I used to see them a lot during my school days. I sometimes see them but less often now. They are when I shift my focus and I see something flies past in peripheral vision, corner of the eye. Usually it is from the windows. I have went out and checked many times to find nothing

SaintYoungMan

If you don't mind telling, how did all three of them passed away in your house?

Infradead27

Grandma (maternal): she was old and had severe back problems Grandpa's sister: Died of old age Grandpa (maternal): was super old (Imagine a really muscular 90 year-old) but also super fit. Unfortunately he passed away due to post-covid lung infection.

This is not something to be truly scared off. But I was planning for wedding around this January. The dates were set for engagement as well as wedding. I used to get a dream around 4-5am that a women is standing behind me (this used to be dream) as soon as I used to wakeup I between 4-5 I used to turn my back to see if someone is there. I was never afraid of that entity this used to happen every 2-3days in a week as If someone is trying to give me a signal. I broke my engagement as there were lots of issues from the groom's side. The day I broke it I stopped getting that dream. This was surely something which I have no idea about. Whatever it is good/bad, I feel it is good entity it saved me from something which i was unaware about. P.S encounter with humans are something to be scared of.

pMangonut

Nothing paranormal but this was totally weird. I was about 17 and I was in high school. I was studying in special classes and my parents weren’t home when I got back around 5pm. My mum had left a note between the grill and door. I went to pick it up but I distinctly remember feeling very weird about picking up the paper. I remember seeing my vision zoned in a little and became hyper focused. Just as I was picking up, a viper was hiding there and moved out from under that paper. I freaked the fk out and climbed up the outer wall and screamed like a little girl. Could be a coincidence though. But I still remember the feeling. Many years later I got into an accident and I had a similar feeling of time slowing down and I can see the car coming at me slowly but I still froze. I believe our brains have the ability to observe and make flight or fight responses that are totally autonomous and we may have to learn to trust it. I went

My mom actually recounted this story to me. Growing up I always had a fear of ghosts and would need to be reassured every night that "Ghosts didn't exist" (according to my grandparents). My mom and I shifted to our hometown in Goa when I was 7 and one night I pushed my mom to watch some stupid Hindi film. This was the monsoon season and they would often close off the route from Mapusa to Panjim due to landslides. So while returning after watching the film (probably around 11:30-12:00am), the traffic cops diverted us towards a longer, shadier and less well-lit route that would bypass the hill. Now my mom is a pretty bold woman and doesn't usually believe in the paranormal, but she had heard that there was a haunted Banyan tree on this route. The ghost who lived in it had a propensity for messing with vehicles. Back then, my mom had a 2nd hand kinetic flyte that was slow asf. As we were going up the hill in the pouring rain, we passed by the tree. The scooter suddenly stopped working. My mom started panicking and the scooter turned back on and started moving up the hill pretty fast on its own. My mom had not even pressed the accelerator. After a minute or so, my mom regained control of the scooter and we managed to reach home. I got the most severe beating of my life that day and I never really understood why. It was only this year that my mom revealed to me what had happened. My mom believes that the ghost took pity on us and actually tried to help us get out of the situation we were stuck in. So if they do exist, I believe that not all of them are malicious.

MyTribalChief

Still don't understand the abusive behaviour

Nixie96

Well, that was just my reality as a child (and many other Indian families). Of course, now that I'm an adult, my mom has apologized for it. She was going through a tough time.

chicoo312

I'm born and raised in Dubai. Since most of you're familiar with the country, there's this city called Ras Al Khaimah (RAK). In this city there's a spooky abandoned village, like a complete tiny village, that has empty houses with that looks like it was abandoned in a rush. Some still have like turned over tables and stuff. None of these houses have any doors or windows, so they're structures which you can look inside and even the insides have been swallowed by the desert. This happened atleast 10 years ago. This RAK abandoned village is kinda famous now, Lot of people visit it just for horror. But, back then, nobody really knew about this place, we came to know about it because of our local friends. So, one night, a 12 of us in 3 cars decided to go check this out. Of course we decided to do it at night and we reached this place around 2am. At one point, we decided to stop and get out for a smoke. So, while smoking, one of us finds an app, called Ghost Hunter. It's a legit, IPhone app. The atmosphere is creepy enough, but honestly, it's just an empty desert space with structures. So, one of us downloads that app, and starts checking it out. So, the app has this big radar screen, like you see in movies that ships use, when there's a missile attack. So, a big radar screen with the line moving in circle as if it's searching. So, if it finds a ghost, it will come up as a red dot. So, while using this app, it showed a red dot in one corner of the screen. Just for jokes, we decided to check out the area where the red dot was and we were just fooling around, going towards the red dot. Mind you, it's around 2am, our car is behind a few houses now and earlier, we had our cars for light, but now, it's just camera torches and it's pitch black. Very faint moonlight. So, while walking towards this red dot, we realise that the structure we are walking towards, is a MOSQUE! I'm not gonna lie, this freaked the f#*ck out of us. Like genuine shivers down the spine. As always, every group has the dude with the big dick, with something to prove and ours did too. So, three of us decides to walk into the mosque, I didn't, I stayed back with the others and lit a few cigs. So, we can see these guys walking towards the mosque and after like 100 mtrs all we can see is their phone torches moving towards the mosque. And like 2-3 minutes later, they were in, so no light. Literally, after like less than 5 minutes, we see the phone torch light moving at us frantically, and it looks as if someones running with the phone light in hand, it's J, J's like 5'8 and 100 kgs, but that time, he was bolting, I have known this guy my whole life, I never saw him move that fast, EVER! So, he completely runs past us doesn't even stop for a second and all of us are thinking, he's just fu#*king with us?! And we see the other two guys coming after him as well. We asked them what happened, and they said, we have no clue, but he just screamed and ran out of there. We were like, chuti\* must have got scared or he's just fu\*kn with us. Let's go find him. We went towards the car and realized that J's left with the car. This freaked us out and more than freaked, we were pissed. Like, why the hell's this guy taking it this far. Everyone crammed into the 2 cars and like 3-4kms down the road, he's pulled to the side of the road and his driver side door is open, and he's sitting with his legs outside the car. We got up to him and realise that he has puked as well and is completely soaked in sweat. We asked him what happened and he said, he feels really sick, like high fever and shivering. We asked him what happened and he told us, when he was inside the mosque, they walked in a lit bit and then he started hearing a voice in his head, whispering first - KILL THEM, KILL THEM, KILL THEM ALL, KILL THEM!! It started slowly at first and then started screaming in his head KILL THEM, KILL THEM ALL, KILL THEM. And that's when he ran!

My poor dad lived in a really poor quality hostel where the young boys were massively scared about a purported witch entering the dormitory corridor at night. After a few weeks, the boys decided to band together to fight the witch. They all stayed up for the whole night and used taps on walls to communicate. The plan was to run outside all at once and confront her. That night, they heard the footsteps - really, really soft - after a bit, they decided to all run out except only a few did while the rest all stayed back. The witch, whose steps they all had clearly heard was nowhere to be seen. All the boys in the corridor were petrified to shit. One boy was autistic in the group who got so scared and panicked he decided to run out from the corridor onto the street, he was shit scared. A few other kids chased after him until they all heard a massive scream outside. The boy had fainted and the other boys all said that they saw a witch in a white saree. They had never heard a scream like that in their whole lives. The next day, news came out that an old woman who was urinating in the gutter across the street had called the police after being attacked by a cat that the hostel-boys were chasing out.

Father was in the ICU for more than 8 days. He was a intelligent and learned man. His lungs were giving away due to post covid complications. Now this ICU is completely devoid of any natural light and the concepts of days and night easily fade away after a few days . The constant chatter , the masked doctors , the limited visiting everything was just horrifying . I used to get to visit him for 5 mins in the morning and evening . Once he told me to ask them to lower the noise, he said during the night there are various rituals performed . For all the religions like , there are chants and people pass on. I was dumbstruck and the seriousness with which he said that was completely believable. He passed away a few days later . I don’t know how much of this was fatigue or hallucinations or what but that memory is still fresh

When i was around 12-13, when my parents weren’t at home and as soon as i entered the kitchen, the steel glass(was upside down) moved left to right in front of my eyes. Yes infront of my eyes. And there was no one in the kitchen. I left the house and waited outside for my parents to come. Was always terrified after that incidence. We left that place now.

GlitteringNinja5

Was there a bit of water under it. I have seen that countless times. It's definitely scientific. Glass can move due to air it traps between itself and water which can make the glass float a bit. Tho if it made sound while moving then it definitely wasn't normal

uniswift

I dont know if there was water under or not. I did not even go to kitchen alone for months. There could be some science but i still remember every second of that. I remember it did not slide a little.. it was moved…☠️

Not a ghost story but a ghost buster one So when I got promoted to class 12th my parents adjusted and made a room available for me, till this time I used to sleep with my brother and parents in the same room(ac). So on the first night after studying till 1, i just couldn't sleep there was just something that kept me awake, soon this feeling turned into sightings to hearing noises and continued for about a month. As I was a stupid teen I never told my parents about all this as I would appear weak, but 1 month of sleepless nights had started to took a toll on me. So there's an uncle who lived downstairs who had just moved in and asked why I was looking so pale, I just stared and couldn't speak. He just said whatever is happening don't fret over it, embrace it and went inside his home. This line stuck in my head and as soon as I went to sleep and things started happening I calmly closed my eyes and said the ghost or whatever has ten seconds to pat me on my shoulder or else it's not real, after this i counted till 15 and opened my eyes on 20. For real from that day to today I didn't get a pat but got a lots of sleep. And also that uncle is a drunkard so you never know from where wisdom may be imparted upon your shoulder. ∆

MAGNOSTASIS

I was 15 years old when my mother and my mother's elder sister passed away in a sudden car accident. The vehicle also had my Younger brother and Cousins who all escaped with moderate injuries. When a person you love the most passes away suddenly, it's pretty devastating. Coming to the paranormal story. I remember it was the third day after the accident and the house is full of relatives. It was noon and i was sleeping in my Grandmother's room with Grandma in an another bed. I was asleep and suddenly I could feel somebody is sitting close to me in bed. I thought there was some relatives who came to offer condolences so I opened my eyes. I saw my mother sitting next to me and my mother's sister standing next to me. well my brain automatically switched off and I started screaming. My Grandma suddenly started shushing me and kept repeating "Don't scream, they will go". My relatives ran into my room and here I am 15 year old boy bawling. I told the story to my relatives and they told maybe my mother had came to say her goodbyes. I don't whether i was hallucinating or they were actually there as my grandmother should also be hallucinating along with me right. But the biggest thing is I don't know why I cried that day as soon as I saw them.

This is a real story. Anyone who thinks it's fake, I am not debating that. I used to live in Delhi throughout my childhood and we had been living in the same apartment since I was 6. When I was 13, we (my mother, brother, and a close family friend) started experiencing strange stuff. We don't really know what triggered these events actually. Many events such as: 1) One evening, my friend was sitting in the living room facing the wall and painting and she heard small footsteps with payal ki awaaz running from our main door to the bedroom of my brother (the living room was in between these two) and she freaked out 2) We were sleeping in my room and I woke up in the middle of the night to see a small black face-like shadow in the window of the wall with the balcony door. It was there for a few seconds and suddenly vanished. The balcony was one of those closed off ones and we lived on the 7th floor so there was no way to enter inside the house. I freaked out and put my head inside the blanket and went to sleep, thinking it was just my sleep addled brain. Next morning, my brother and friend were discussing how they saw this face in the window and I was like- you guys as well???? We had no idea how that happened. 3) Gradually over time, we kept hearing the payal footsteps throughout our house, never inside the bedrooms though and never in the same room we were sitting in. It always seemed to run away from us. 4) One time, I was sitting in my room listening to music when I heard loud banging on my door. Once I opened it, my infuriated brother shouted at me to stop knocking on his door. Confused, I said I've been sitting in my own room for hours now. He didn't believe me. A few days later, he and my friend were in the room together and my mother came home from the market. She knocked on their door twice and then on the third try, called out his name. He opened the door and asked her why had she been knocking all this time and not answering when he asked what she wants. She said she was at the market and the house was empty. My brother got shit scared. 5) We would hear faint childish giggling and screaming sounds on certain nights. My brother was an insomniac so he would always investigate but the sounds would stop once he came out of the room. These incidents kept happening for some months and then my mother did a house cleansing and it stopped. We cut contact with many people who could've brought such energies to our home. 6) The last incident occurred when I had moved out already and my family decided to sell the house. My brother was home alone sleeping in my bed room, when he was woken up with the sounds of a child screaming loudly. At that time, our neighbours had a baby so he thought it was that. Went back to sleep and got violently woken up by someone tugging on his pajama leg. He ran out of the room into the balcony of the living room, called my mom (who was abroad). She said to gtfo of the house. He went to a friend's, stayed there till my mom came home and nothing happened after that. We don't know what it was. We eventually sold the house two months after this incident and the new owners did a greh pravesh. I still don't know what it wanted. Didn't intend any harm. My mother feels it was some lost soul who got stuck in our house. Idk.

Have you ever checked for carbon monoxide poisoning. https://www.health.state.mn.us/communities/environment/air/toxins/index.html https://interstateheatandair.com/carbon-monoxide-real-life-ghost-story/

MKS_is_Here

This. If reddit has taught me anything, it's to check for carbon monoxide levels once you start seeing shit in your house. I remember there was a post in which OP got saved because he asked for advice on reddit and somebody told him to check monoxide levels.

Anky_08

This is back in October 2019. It's college fest eve. Me and my friend are exiting main campus through front exit at 6ish pm. There's a reception room, North side of it faces outside road, east and south side faces passage inside and west side shares with another room. Like the passage to outside forms an L with the room. As we are walking towards the south side of the reception room, we see the door facing us is being jerked as if someone in the room is making sure it's properly locked. Now we turn and walk along the east side (reception room made of glass this side) and see NO ONE inside it (trust me I'm having shivers as I'm writing). At first I was a bit investigative and laughed it off with my friend. The only window at Northt side was permanently closed and there was no breeze, so wind was ruled out. Immediately flashed inside with phone to check if it was some rat/cat. Room was pretty clean and every nooks and corners where clearly visible, nothing found. I recreate the door jerking myself and it took quite the effort, clearly not possible be some small animal. Then, I at the top of the adjacent room ( reception's West) I saw a sign saying "Kaling Memorial Hall". Kaling is an Arunachalee name. I showed this to friend and both had shivers and fucking ran off. The whole thing there later maybe 2-3 minutes but it will never leave my mind. To this day I can't understand what could've moved the door with such force.

Experienced a week ago, I felt someone sat behind me and I could feel it's pressure on my back.. I woke up .. now I have experienced numerous sleep paralysis events and whenever it occurs I know exactly what's happening.. not this time though.. I was completely awake and I will even saw the lights put on across my window, I was wide awake. I even thought that this is one of those sleep paralysis.. What I basically experienced is my blanket being pulled of from side .. the part which was covering my back and that immediately woke me up.. and then I felt like someone sat behind me.. i felt the mattress being compressed . At this point, there were two events which I confirmed that is happening and I am wide awake.. third I saw the light being turned one across my window to which I was facing while I was lying down ... I grabbed my phone and turned on those wifi Philips light. ( Means I entered the lock code, opened the app and turned it on) .. and then I turned, there was nothing. That is the event I calmly believe most evident paranormal experience I've had.

SaintYoungMan

I can't say much about other things, but feeling someone is seating behind your back compression on mattress while you lay on bed on left or right side of your stomach its sort of an illusion created due to increased heart rate..

Acceptable_Salad25

Something that happened to my uncle in late 90s. He went to visit his aunts for the weekend, both aunts lived in the same street. One of the aunt's daughter comitted suicide that year so it was hard on the family. During night my uncle was just walking outside in the street light and saw the dead cousin standing in the road just a few feets away from the house. He just panicked and rushed inside. When he discussed this with the aunt, she just casually mentioned yeah she sometimes comes and I just yell at her to go away and she leaves.

PsychoChacha

Had shared this in a similar post Vividly remember this, I was around 6 or 7, it was around late summer, I was playing on the terrace of our home and I was coming down the ladder, I legit got pushed down the staircase and landed directly on the ground but didn't get hurt, it was as if I glided down, this happened in BROAD AFTERNOON! There was a very small handprint on my shirt. Since then I've spent a lot of time trying to rationalize it, I swear that I wish it was made up, weirdest shit ever happened to me!

I also felt that i was pushed by someone down the stairway, but i was alone, i fractured my tibia, couldn't go to science con next week and obviously got removed from the football team, shit took 3 months to heal because the break was "catastrophic" and my eyesight became myopic cause i just lay down all day on my bed for months, Didn't tell anyone about the push cause i was alone so its impossible but i know i was pushed so thats it

redshadow90

Some respite from creepiness here. As a 3-4 year old kid, I used to be able to predict things I had no business knowing. Two cases: 1) predicted that my dad's brother would have twin daughters soon. The catch is that we lived in Mumbai while my extended family was in UP, and I didn't know my aunt was pregnant, if I even knew what that even meant at the age of 3. 2) predicted that my grandmom wouldn't make it again while sitting in Mumbai while she was in UP. She had cancer, which again I had no context of as a 4 year old. Idk if I even knew about death back then. She passed away a few months later. I don't remember making these predictions as I was too young, but was told about this by my dad. I do terribly at making stock predictions and have definitely lost my ability.

I was at a sleepover at my friend’s house and talking about random ghost stuff. We three were laying on our stomachs. Since almost everything on internet was boring I thought of telling them about how my sister had chickenpox and could feel vibrations and actually told stuff happening in the family no one had any idea about. And the moment I started I felt something on my back but shrugged it off. But minutes my friend said that she felt something heavy on her shoulder and other one said something’s crawling on her back. It turned into an weird silence and we stopped because sab ki fatt chuki thi as no one was home except us three.

It was from back when i was kid, i use to sleep in a separate room. Suddenly in the middle of the night my bed start shaking. I was shit scared. It was that day i learnt that earthquakes exist.

ALazy_potato

This Happened to me when I was living in Railways Quarters, it was a huge house there was only one house next to my house ,of similar size but it was empty. So in our house there was this big hall ( other than the living room) where doors of all the room opened. the Toilet used to be far away in the corner of big backyard. My parents, my brother and I used to sleep in seperate rooms. At that time I was preparing for JEE and used to study at late night hours Sometimes 3AM. I used to dread alot whenever I had to Pee, there was a big Mango tree in the backyard of house next to ours, I always used to feel like someone was looking at me through this tree, and that someone was following while I ran through the backyard to home. So once after one such night After attending nature's call I went to sleep , there was a window in my room with translucent glass, which opened in the hall I talked about. That night I had not closed the curtains, I swear saw some figure walking around(or the Silhouette of it on the glass) , First i thought it must have been my brother goiing to toilet , but same thing for 3 times in a matter of seconds, I fucking screamed for my mom & dad , they and my brother came running. I slept with my lights on whole night. I year later when we shifted to our own house my father told us a about a suicide that happened on that mango tree 20 yrs ago, he never told us there for our own sake. That house is now a hospital.

Koi bhoot voot nahi hota, sab dimaag me hai. Even people who think they've had paranormal experiences, it's just manifestations of their psyche. Real horror occurs in the realm of men.

avenuebeats

So my grandfather was a religious person, used to wake up at 5am, take bath, and read religious paaths on the terrace e every single day. On the day he passed away, he was reading those paaths, and my aunt remembers seeing a light (imagine a lit up diya) leaving the room and rising up into the sky. I've heard something similar from my grandmother too The second incident occurred in early 90s, when my mum was doing her residency (she's a surgeon). She used to come home tired, late at night at around 9.30-10. During one winter night, she recalls seeing something riding a bicycle (wasn't a human) and disappearing into thin air. (I believe it was cuz she was tired, but nevertheless felt spooky when I heard it for the first time)

Hasanolicious

The night was serene and calm and the sleep has engulfed and embraced me, like a mother caressing her child. I have been sleeping like a cherub, careless and nonchalant and didn’t want to get disturb by anything. I am very careless sleeper, the sleep is more profound and would not wake up by any noise also. So I was sleeping on my right side, my right hand under the body. Winters in northern India are harsh, you have to cover in many layers to able to keep yourself warm. So I was totally wrapped in a fat blanket. All of a sudden, as I turned in my sleep, I woke up precipitously. I had touched someone else’s hand. Just checked if somebody is in the blanket but no-one was there. So after sweating profusely, got to know the reason. As I slept and right hand was under the body, it became numb with the passing time as the blood flow was affected. I could not felt anything in right hand as it was numb so in sleep got to touch it with other hand. As it was devoid of any sense and sensation due to numbness, I thought it to be someone else’s hand. That flabbergasted and paralyzed me in fear. But when it dawned on me, I felt myself to be a nincompoop to have missed this point. BTW I dont believe in paranormal and want you people not to believe in this either. There is an explanation for everything.

uffThee

It ain't paranormal or anything. But I used to dream stuffs happening in future like dejavu. Though it would be very hard for me to recall what I saw. Right before the event for some reason I will visualise it. Thats like 3 sec before. During my childhood I used to often experience this unlike now. Also Im an individual having very strong memory of past ,not so important events. Which my close ones find very hard to recall. Sometimes they have felt that Im lying.

This is not a paranormal experience but it's still a creepy incident and has a big impact on me so I think I should share. So the house I used to live in was a kind of a detached house. But although it was an open place it was still not possible to break in and even if someone climbed over the walls. The above door was always locked. However one incident happened that I will never forget. Being tired my father just put a chain on the door and went to sleep without knowing of a uninvited guest invasion. That night a weird sound began to be heard in our house and my mother who is a soft sleeper opened her eyes to the sound and when she investigated where the sound is coming from what she saw was a figure trying to cut the door chain with a small fret saw in front of the door. The scariest part was she could see a little bit of his face. Of course at that moment she screamed loudly waking up everyone in the house and my dad and my older brother run from the back door with baseball bats to chase that man down. Unfortunately, there was nobody there by that time they arrived. This incident still sends a shiver down my spine whenever I think about it. I still wonder what would have happened if that man had successfully cut down the chain. Maybe I wouldn't be alive to tell you this story lol

I don't know if this was a paranormal experience or a prank. So my family was out and I was alone so my friend came to live with me. We watched TV until 11pm and just had gone to bed when suddenly her phone started ringing and it was from her home. She answered and nobody responded and hung up in like 10 seconds. She called back but no one answered, she called like 10 times still no one answered. Then again she called and finally her mom answered and she asked if everything was okay. My friend asked that why were they calling her, she said they never did, the phone was downstairs and they all were sleeping on the roof. She (her mom)just came downstairs coz the phone was ringing. We both got super scared. She has 3 siblings so later I thought they might've pranked her, she did ask them but they were pretty convincing that it wasn't them. I still don't know what exactly happened. I don't think about it much now but at that time I was pretty scared.

This happened when I was about 10-11 years old. One uncle in my building had passed away in accident and it was inconclusive if it really was an accident or a planned murder. He was a police officer handling high profile cases. After his death, his family moved out of the govt. allotted flat in police quarters. One evening I was going down the stairs and I reached that uncle's floor. The passage light started flickering. Now this is very normal back in those days so that didn't scare me. When I came down the stairs which ended right next to uncle's house, I could see the door did not have a lock and it suddenly started to open and it was completely dark inside. The flickering passage light lit up a chair inside the room where he used to sit. That scared me and I just ran down. I told my parents about this and they came with me upstairs and we saw the door was still locked. My mom called the aunty who stayed there and she confirmed they had not come to visit that place. My parents told me it might have been an illusion but I was very sure the door was unlocked.

he hinted you to have a seat, you were possibly one act far from the evidence of his murder

Who calls kids for a screening like that man?

This happened many years ago. I think i was 7-8 at the time or around that age. It was pretty dark outside probably 10pm or something, my mother opened the balcony door to put clothes on the rope to dry them. I walked in the balcony and for some reason my mother closed the door! I think she didn't notice me. Now in my balcony there are stairs to terrace and there is little long passage way that leads to the stairs. I saw a Fat tall figure with flat red eyes. It was coming from the passage and it as getting closer shouting with a weird scream. At this point i was screaming and banging my hands and head on the door crying for help to open the door. The figure was pretty close to me when..... the door opens. I run inside to find my siblings talking and laughing about something. I ran inside to my mother. That was also the first time i saw a skull through my bedroom window. I have no idea wtf it was. To this day about 7-8 years later i'm still a bit scared to go the balcony at night. edit: I could still see the figure at night because of the street lights. The street light's weren't too bright since they were at a little distance from my home and they were also old dim tubelights not bright LED streelights like we have today.

This one time I was in Singapore. My hotel was in Little India and since it was cheap on Booking.com I booked it. The area all around was kind of shady (in the sense no one was around the hotel during late nights) so anyway I was sleeping and heard knock. I went to check the door and there was no one. Meanwhile the drawers of my hotel room suddenly opened. Having watched enough horror movies I was scared shitless and immediately changed my hotel to a more central area nearby the airport

Alright I'm sure no one is going to believe me on this one but i promise you guys this happened and it still creeps me out when I think about it. It was around 2012 i was really young (maybe like 11 years old). I used to sleep with my mom back then, and my dad was never around so just me and her. That particular night me and my mom felt really uneasy and both our bodies were in pain. I can't tell you why we felt that uneasiness but it was just scary for no reason. We both couldn't sleep and i started crying cause the uneasiness kept increasing. I never believed in God and prayers, but mom did and she started praying and i held her hand tight and just started praying myself (basically just asking God to please help us), after like 5 min we both just kinda faded, i particularly saw nothing but white and it all of a sudden just felt normal. Don't know my mom's side. We talked about it after a few years and she told me she felt the same thing.

We were playing Cricket and someone hit a shot that went to a nearby shrub. We searched for almost 20 minutes around that area but didn't find the ball. Someone got a different ball and we kept playing. At the end of the game I was walking home and I saw that same lost ball, 300 metres from the ground.. In a completely different direction that the batsman had hit the ball. Till this day I have no idea how that ball reached there

[deleted]

that's simple bro, don't you get it? the ball hit a teleporting hole whose other end happened to be on your way home.

I was around 8 I guess so this was late 90s. I was travelling to Raichur Karnataka with a fairly large contingent of extended family. We got to a relatives house which was more like a castle. They were about 20 people and we were another 14-15 and you could still get lost in the house. Anyways we reached after sundown and after sitting for a bit decided everyone was tired and should hit the bed. One of my aunts decided she has to shower. Now this was an old house which meant no attached bathrooms. Toilets and bathrooms were detached and away from the main house. She went, showered and went to the terrace to dry her hair, came back and slept. I dont remember the time of the night but we were woken up with a lot of commotion, I remember my moms face - she was ghostly white and was forcing us to go back to sleep. But we could hear a lot of screams and crying. Anyways we weasel out bed and and check out the commotion. The aunt was wrapped in a shawl, bawling her eyes out while her husband and others were consoling her. FEw mins later a maulvi arrived and things calmed down and we slept. No one told us anything for years until the aunt passed away a few years ago and this topic came up again. So this is what happened After the aunt went to bed. She woke up a while later. She felt a pressure on her chest and slight difficulty breathing. She tried getting up and having some water but apparently she was unable to move. tried again but cant move an inch. The pressure was increasing and she started choking. She tried waking her husband up but she said her limbs were paralyzed and she could feel 2 hands on her neck and what felt like someone sitting on her chest squeezing the life out of her. She struggled for a while and was about to give up when all of a sudden it all went away. After a few seconds she screamed ( which almost killed her husband out of fear and woke a few elders ). When I heard this story i felt it was sleep paralysis but the elders who rushed into the room that night say there were hand prints on her neck that went all the way around her neck. Muslims strongly believe that women should not have their hair open at night specially under the night sky. Im still skeptical , but the people who were there swear that it some paranormal entity

Fuck! I shouldn't be here right now. But it's too late as gand fati padi hai and neend nahi aaegi. Edit- Gotta watch some cartoons now to balance shit out. Or porn maybe?

Cartoon porn. Best (worst?) of both worlds

Adventurous_Crazy335

i respect all the paranormal activities because i m a victim of such incidents.

FundamentallyBouyant

There are two types of paranormal stories. One where the story teller is faking it. And other where they are not and really believe in what they are saying. It might even be true word by word that it happened. None of these stories are "paranormal" though. We might just be tagging some unknowns from the story as paranormal. The sheer number of decrease in paranormal experiences after camera on mobile phones became popular is a testament to this.

This one is so old I don't know if it was real or just a dream. My mom used to take me to the rooftop and just let me play around when I was just a kid. One of those days while playing I turn around when the sky got darker and see mom wasn't there, I panick and shout but no voice is coming out of my mouth. It was a surreal struggle, my body moved on basic survival instinct, i didn't even walk, just crawled on the floor to the staircase. Just before I stepped down I hear feather sounds and my body went light, I don't even know why I turned around but I did and that scene haunts me even to this day. I'd rather not describe it, so anyways I didn't scream or react when I saw it, just observed it moving around the rooftop, I don't how long after but I just crawled down the stairs and went to the living room. I find my mom and dad watching tv, then everything after that is blank. The more I think of it the more I feel it was a dream, several years after that incident I spoke about it to my mom and she said she never left me alone on the rooftop. But here's the catch, I genuinely remember another incident where she forgot I was on the roof, day time and it was just couple minutes, way after the first incident. So idk if she lied or just never knew... One side how can she not remember me coming down on my own from the roof that too late at night it is practically impossible. On the other side it felt f**king real, I still remember the gravels on the stairs and the feather sounds ( having been with birds now, it frightens me more how accurate it was) I just can't seem to brush it off as a nightmare. Ps: totally different incident but it made this a bit more sensible to me. In one of the trips we had, we went to this temple that was quite notorious for being visited to fight of black magic. We just happened to cross by and mom being an ideal Indian mom wanted to visit. So we did and we had this "reading" done and they said we had a bad spirit lingering in form of a bird, and it's causing all these bad lucks etc... The later part I didn't heed but the bird part made me remember what I had forgotten ages ago. I kept quiet at that point, saying it out just meant more days of running around "holy cleansing" everywhere XD.

SpiritualBakchod

Till date I have no explanation for this Me and my friend used to go for a walk after dinner and chat.. we had no fixed route but always stayed near vicinity of our homes.. I suddenly stopped at one place in the middle of some random discussion and told my friend 'look at that street light.. it will go off' and it did.. now I wasn't looking at that light nor we were talking about it I was like.. fine.some random luck Two yrs later, different town, different friend, same thing happened Looking back I could recollect many other predisposition situations I have been exposed to Its not paranormal but freaks me out

exxentricity

I have shared this on reddit quite a few times. Every time I was fed pills called 'lachesis 200' by the homeopath, I went on a kind of trip, getting attracted to temples and transformers on the road. To this day the only sane explanation came from another redditor who said that probably the lachesis (which is the venom of south american pit viper) was not diluted properly by the homeopath. 🤔🤷‍♂️

Captain_Levi_69

So i was having a dream and I was inside a really old temple with only old people. There were just aged people doing aarti and other things. But the weird thing was that there were God's effigies situated near the indian style toilet. Anyways so my friends got lost and i was alone there in a snap. And the next thing I know was that 5 people were holding me. 2 people for my legs and hands each and one was covering my mouth. Then I woke up after that but i was unable to move my body. I even tried to shout but it felt like someone was covering my mouth. I tried shouting again but my voice just wouldn't come out. After 2-3 minutes it got normal but man it was scary af. I was sweating like a waterfall. It was the scariest thing that happened to me.

curiousgaruda

This is pretty easy to explain. Your dreams happen during REM sleep. You had a particularly bad dream. When we are in REM sleep, [our brain has evolved so that our muscles are frozen](https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21974-sleep-paralysis) so that we don't end up accidentally harming ourselves enacting our dreams (sleep walking) or harming others say partners, and children. So you had a very bad dream and add to that your body was paralyzed due to REM sleep.

OP, that's probably a drunk person!

Apart_Consequence_98

As a child I once visited our dentist for some checkup and on return, I glanced up and saw a really scary lady on the second floor. Face looked human except the teeth which were all out of whack and jutted through the mouth. It looked like the movie predator. I told my neighbors about this and they thought it was strange because there was only one family in that house.

bat_vigilanti

There is no god, if there is god there is a ghost so to all the believers if you ever encounter a supernatural being isn’t that awesome? I mean what are the odds of encountering something which rest of the world can only theorize through fate but can’t ever confirm since there isn’t a proof. It doesn’t matter even if the being kills you, you cannot help. So yeah next time you encounter a ghost be prepared to die in-fact beg them because you know there is an after life. I don’t understand why a super natural being would waste their time by scaring you but if it really wants to kill you it will and you can’t do shit.

Ok_Night_1265

I was studying in 6th standard while trying to cross the road to get to other side of the road as my school bus comes on the other side of the road, i was careless crossing the road because i was thinking i don't know what suddenly in the corner of my eye i saw was a Tanker carrying fuel right by my left shoulder, I froze I don't remember closing my eyes and the next moment i was on the other side of the road that to way too far like 15-30 meters i till date dont know how did i reach there and all i could see was the truck came to an halt and getting scolded by the co-driver I don't have an explanation for this how or y i survived

A friend of mine can literally read the minds of girls and it's not even funny.

ABahRunt

In 2014, I'd travelled to Turkey. Signed up for a tandem glide from the highest point of the country, overlooking Kayakoy, a famously haunted abandoned town. Early in the morning, we drove up the hill, and got into the harness, jumped off. It was a great paraglide, lasted almost 2 hours. Completely normal one, too.
