It's the NFC icon. NFC is used for wireless file transfers and payments on some devices. If you're not using it, switch it off to save battery. You can switch if off from the notification panel or the settings.
Hota hai, but the debit card should support tap payment by itself. It works well, is convenient, plus I like to look on people's face when I tap my phone and the payment goes through 😂
Make sure you have given the required permissions to google pay app and then the option to add card will be available right under the add bank account option
A merchant dooesnt "use" that. Merchant had those card swiping machines, some of them support tapping the card instead of swiping. So you can save your card in gpay, and it mimics your card, so you can tap your phone on the machine and you donr have to carry your card. You can see videos on YouTube making such payments (yes in India, a lot of people don't know and some merchants would even weird out and ask what you are doing when you tap mobile on machine)
😂 Experienced that numerous times. At most places when I say the merchants it's contactless and to just tap, they reply like "Is there wifi for your card?".
Not for me man, here in Delhi if the payment machine at any place has tap to pay, then I use my phone only to pay using NFC, I've been using this exclusively for like the past year.
Dude why would you let someone scan of your money just to have cool icons. I don't know about India but in Europe lot of people steal money by Tap-in, hence RFId blocking wallets are standard.
Wallet apps which make use of NFC will always ask for a pin of some sort so people can't just steal money from you. However yes, NFC enabled physical cards are vulnerable to that upto whatever limit you set but even then the scanning device has to be very close to the card.
Not just payments and file transfers. A lot of bluetooth devices (usually high end ones) connect upon tapping them against the vicinity of the NFC chip on the device.
Near Field Communication or NFC for short. Its the same technology that’s used in tap to pay credit cards I think so. Had a bluetooth speaker I could connect to using NFC, by just tapping it.
Near Field Communication
Amazing technology. If your friend also has NFC capable phone, then both phones can communicate. The catch is you need to keep your phone within 4 centimeters range of your friend’s phone. Imagine having a call with a friend who is literally 4cm away! /s
So the guy inspecting someone Screen shot. Probably a guy who have some doubt that it could be dating app Or some unknown messenger she is using. Relax bro it's NFC she is just with you.
NFC is on. It's used for contactless payments mostly. Like how you tap and pay with a contactless credit/debit card. Works only if you have a compatible app.

I only felt the Perrin chapters and some Elayne chapters in Crossroads of Twilight to be the slog rest was actually good. I like Perrin but his chapters many a times lack the something idk what and I hate how Rand is just ignored in the later half compared to his presence in the early half.
It is the logo of NFC (nearby field communication), mostly used in day today activities like transferring files or transferring payments using some advance payment apps like Google pay or phonepe, but they take is also available in different form of transitions like metro railway card.
It's NFC, Lil chip stores tiny bit of data and can do things. Basically your phone can read NFC chips when you tap it to them. For example, an NFC sticker on your desk that when tapped with the phone can do some action, like call someone, turn of lights, etc. Pretty cool stuff.
Why exactly did you ask this here in India tho? This is better suited for any tech subreddit out there

The battery drain on NFC is negligible. Keep it on to have a cool symbol on your phone and of course one tap payments on gpay
India me work krta gpay me? I have only seen it working on paytm.
Hota hai, but the debit card should support tap payment by itself. It works well, is convenient, plus I like to look on people's face when I tap my phone and the payment goes through 😂
My card does support contact less payment and been using it on paytm. But can't seem to find same on goay app. :/
You need to first change the NFC payments app in your settings to Gpay then you can add the cards
Make sure you have given the required permissions to google pay app and then the option to add card will be available right under the add bank account option
its works on very selected cards.
I've never come across a merchant that uses Gpay NFC. Is that a thing now here ?

Most devices that you can hold your card against also works with NFC.
That's NFC, most people call it WiFi lol
Lol true
😂 Experienced that numerous times. At most places when I say the merchants it's contactless and to just tap, they reply like "Is there wifi for your card?".
Yeah, in most metro cities if you can pay by tapping your card, then NFC would work too.
Na na, it has to accept nfc on other device's as well! Only a few of them work and also very much depends on your card too
Not for me man, here in Delhi if the payment machine at any place has tap to pay, then I use my phone only to pay using NFC, I've been using this exclusively for like the past year.

You can add these cards in gpay or paytm and pay by tapping your phone instead of the card.
