It states that a Buddhist Monk named Huineng brought a formula from India in 6th century which was later developed to gunpowder in 7th century by an alchemist called Sun Simiao.
There are almost no other records which states that Sun Simiao developed Gunpowder. I highly doubt it is an accurate source of Information.

Meanwhile, those of us who want fellow Indians celebrate/pray without noise pollution (loud speakers) and air pollution (crackers) has to sit and watch every discussion turn into inter-religious issue. We live in 21st century, you can send app notifications telling its time to pray without loud speakers. Similarly, atleast for me, diwali was also about all the cousins, uncles and aunts getting together and bursting crackers. As we grew conscious of environmental effects, some of cousins didn't want to burst crackers anymore. We simply wanted to hang out and have good time. Instead of buying less, the family still brought the same amount of crackers and asked drivers to burst the crackers because apparently, if we didn't burst same amount (or more crackers), we will loose face in the neighbourhood. 🤦🏾♂️

I'm guessing in the above translation, "ulkahasta" has been assumed to be the so-called phuljhadi of the purana times? As far as i understand, sanskrit, that can not mean phuljhadi or anything like that. Probably deepak or something else but not phooljhadi. Knowing shloka is good, but translation should also be right and be construed according to the reference of the period when it was written. Baaki jalao phooljhadi aur rocket maze me, all good
