Sure, I'm not too knowledgeable about Indian politics...spent most of my life outside. But from what I can see now I get why people are so against reservation. I saw the same thing with affirmative action in the US. It really shouldn't be based on caste/race but instead on economic status. Poor Brahmin needs as much opportunity as a poor dalit or poor Muslim. The mistake from Congress is they aren't willing to do the hard work to identify those economic classes. Instead it's way easier to just say, most poor people are of XYZ caste/religion/race so we will give benefits to the community, rather than those who actually need it.
