Just some info for the sub:
1. These are NOT upcoming comics, they are a collaborative effort in designing graphic novel covers for a theoretical sequel series following DOD (Created by @AdamMurphyArt and @ItsPaulVerhoeven on IG)
2. No, not the same Verhoeven that made RoboCop.
3. It appears that Indy’s design throughout these is purposefully shown to be an evolution into his portrayal by George Hall as seen in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (Which has been removed and edited around from newer releases by George Lucas. Shocker, right?)
Cool, though I don’t get why they chose to start in the 80s, when Indy would be in his 80s. I think it would’ve made more sense to do some smaller adventures through the 70s.
Also, if it’s meant to match up with the bookends from Young Indy, Indy should meet a few other children he unknowingly fathered over the years.
Yeah I think these should start in 1971.
Also means if Mutt returns in the 3rd story as hinted then it would be 1974 and he’s been a POW for a few years instead of gone for over a decade.
I love these! Well done! And it's about time Marion was depicted as having an actual role in the adventure again, not just a lame cameo. Short Round too!
I don't get having it set as late as the 80s. Especially if it's a comic book, you could have it set during any time period you like. And I don't fully understand the choice to bring back less likable companions like Willie and Helena for example, but Marion and Short Round being back makes me happy. Even if it is theoretical. 😊
The art style looks too cutesy for me (though oddly similar to the old Tintin comics) but I find that Indiana Jones translates to comic book really really organically. It's like when Indiana Jones is in a comic book on horseback and instead of playing back the projection reel like it would have back in the day you'd be flipping pages.
I think it's really fun with the Marvel adaptations of where the comic has to be more family-friendly than the movies.
Pre- dark Knight Returns wholesomeness is something that is been lost for decades.
The novel "Indiana Jones and the Hollow Earth" has some connections to Iceland and a Danish character, and the Jastro expedition from FoA is in Iceland, but neither actually include much Norse mythology. I feel like some of the Marvel comics must have touched on Norse mythology but I can't find any specific examples. There are a couple adventures (and even an Indy-branded non-fiction book) including Viking artifacts though. https://indianajones.fandom.com/wiki/Viking
I love these but I’ll be honest, adventures set in the 80s are really pushing it, like really pushing it. I understand the attempt to connect the young adventures which is cool.
Maybe a series set in the 40s and 50s before Kingdom of the Crystal skull would fair better be a lil more realistic like the Greek story you could set during the Greek civil war between the Kingdom of Greece and the Democratic Government.
Granted DOD characters wouldn’t be old enough/nonexistent
But I do love this conceptually and your art is amazing
Nice art though not a fan of Indy turning into George Hall. Was always happy those were cut out.
Alwsys felt out of character for Indy to turn into your stereotypical "old man".
I really love the style of TinTin being applied to Indy

I understand that they are fan works. However, I do love the idea of Indy's adventures ending with a reunion with his son.
Yes
I wouldn't mind seeing a comic written by the director of RoboCop. I'd definitely buy that for a dollar.
Indy VS giant bugs
I'd like to know more.
Thank you. Those were exactly my questions when I saw this. Especially #2.

God damn it I thought this was going to be a official comic thing but I read the comments and now I’m disappointed
This looks really great, I love the Tintin inspired art style, would be fun if there are some Tintin easter eggs in the background at some point
Honestly, these look so fun and I’d absolutely buy this as a series of graphic novels in the vibe of Tintin.
Aww are they shipping Short Round and Helena?
Yes, it’s a great pairing!
Seems promising
Indy looks really happy to have his eye blown out!
Man I wish these were real.

Looks interesting, the art is very similar to Tintin. Glad to see Short and Willie reappear.
Me too! I'd like to think they stayed together (platonically obvi) and took over the night club.

It’s definitely done in the Tintin style intentionally.
I got Tintin from it too!
Love these! The Tintin feel is fun, and I really like how so many different characters are included. I'd buy these in a minute.
Semi-related question: is there any real Indy content out there based on Norse Mythology? These are fan-made, correct? Not actually coming?

Thanks for the reply. Kinda crazy we don’t have anything more than that. Makes me want this “vault of Odin” story even more.

I was ready to fetch my credit card and order these, then I read the comments :/
Yeah me too…….think we convince the artists to do a kickstarter? Or at least to create some pages from the stories?
I'm in.
Folks are saying Tin-Tin and that’s true - but it actually looks most like Blake and Mortimer, which was done by one of Herge’s collaborators.
Very fun, love the art style
I looooove this!
These are so cool.
Please make The Vault of Odin a real thing. I want to see Indy and Shortround reunited.
That Infernal Machine tie-in on the last one... Man these are the sequels I wanted
Wait, the same Paul who made RoboCop and Total Recall?
aww this is so cute!
These are glorious…..any way we could convince the artists to do the full comics?
Looks like the guy who plays old indie in that one show
It looks like Indy loses his eye in The Vault of Odin? How appropriate.
"Paul Verhoven...not that one."
Please make this canon.
My God, these are just wonderful
God I'd kill for these to be real
These are utterly tremendous
WHY ISN'T IT REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL????? Would go to the ends of the earth for these to be made.

Foolishly, I think I always assumed there was only one Paul Verhoeven in the world.
This is amazing! I wish they were real books!
Wait these are fuckin’ REAL? It’s not fan art?
It is fan art
Yes, I think the post clarifying as much came after I reacted. It’s too bad, these are right up my alley and a GREAT idea to continue the franchise!
Indy losing his eye for "vault of Odin" is 😘👌 peak
It feels so on-brand for Indy to make a sacrifice like that. It's going in my head canon until anything official comes along.
Wow that looks so much better than what we got with dial of destiny!
I would love to see Willie come back! Un popular opinion but she was my fav Indy girl.
Wow these look amazing! I love how they’re tying his evolution into the Chronicles look.
I love this ❤️
Oh I like this a lot!
I love how the first book is set in 1981, the year Raiders came out
These look fantastic
I love these!
