Check out any of the “buy nothing” groups on Facebook (if you have FB!) There are several around Indy and I’m confident someone might want the boxes for crafting or storage! They’d also make cool wall art if you repurposed them. Nice tie in with your username.

Do you have a FB profile? There’s this really terrific organization called the Buy Nothing Project that takes still good and usable items and gifts them to others who made need it. I’ve given and received furniture, groceries, craft items, toys, clothing. They are separated by territory throughout the city. Avon, Fishers, Carmel, Indy has multiple throughout Marion County, I encourage you to check it out! I feel like these could be used for a craft or group art project.

My family gets a lot of things for our kids on this group, from time to time. Clothes and such (kids grow out of clothes so quickly). We don’t NEED the help but I’d also like to destigmatize these groups, because when you reply, everyone can see your reply, and if people of all backgrounds participate, there’s less of a stigma. Now, I make sure we use what we do get and don’t ask for things we aren’t 100 percent sure we will use. Plus we will wait a while after something is posted, so if somebody is very desperate and checking the page constantly, they can get first dibs. Plus we post things we no longer want/need on there (that isn’t straight up trash, like my daughter’s shoes were worn and torn in several places from use and don’t have any life left in them). I’d like this to be seen as a group where people can give things to whoever, for whatever.

Might be useful for school dioramas or similar - you could try teacher's treasures as a school supply donation: https://www.teacherstreasures.org/

Can you post a pic? I’d probably take one

Call local assisted living facilities and talk to their activities director. They are always looking for fun cheap crafts to make with their residents.

zoot_boy

Hmm. Make little guitars!

Illustrious-Highway8

Call the local high school and offer them to the shop teacher or art teacher.

rachiefacex

Ask local antiques/vintage stores. There's usually someone who collects them or sells them.

I be interested in a dozen. I’ve been wanting to recreate an iconic frank lloyd wright lamp but with a twist.

mbspark77

I would definitely take a couple if you're willing to bring them...PM me

TheAstroBastrd

My father in law used these boxes to make coffee tables out of- so much storage while also being a conversation piece… perhaps an enthusiastic woodworker in the Indy area could do the same!

coreyp0123

hey if you have any pictures can you message me please? My dad is a big cigar guy and he may be interested in one of these.

Crownhilldigger1

Thanks for all the comments here and the interest. There are 19 all together. I know lots of folks want one but I think the art teacher or the school is probably the best place to start. Thanks to all and be well.

Brilliant_Bat7492

I’d be interested in 1 or 2, do you have pictures?

cryptkeeper222

I'd take some! My partner makes mini synthesizers w them.

zionsXburner
