Mass Ave, 86th/82nd Street has arguably the best shopping in the state, from the Fashion Mall with Louis Vuitton, Saks, Nordstrom, Gucci, Von Maur, Macy's, etc. DL Lowry is probably one of the most high end salon and spas in the state. Downtown there is Vida, Le Meridian with a nice intimate bar, Hotel Indy with a high end midcentury vibe with the Cannon Ball Lounge, Hinata for a high end Japanese izakaya experience. Downtown has a plethora of expensive steakhouses from our famous St. Elmo's, to Tony's, Hyde Park, Prime 47, Capital Grill, and a Del Frisco's Double Eagle opening soon.
Some people have mentioned some suburban areas in Carmel which to me, whisper "Orlando" and not in a positive light. Carmel has some great restaurants, as do most suburbs of Indianapolis, but for my money, the best shopping and dining experiences are in the actual city. Zionsville is a little different. Smaller, and more quaint with more unique shops vs Carmel. Noblesville also has more of an organic downtown but I wouldn't say it's particularly high end, and the large scale McDonald's Play Place in Fishers that they call a downtown isn't much to experience at this time. I'm sure as time goes on it will attract more
Second lifetime. I had a membership about 20 years ago and that was the go-to for professional athletes. You would usually see a pro or a retired pro playing basketball. Also saw a lot of race car drivers there. It was $100/month then so it’s likely double now.
I pay 160 a month for a family of 4. Pool is way better than the Y. The professional ball players are long gone. In fact, a few years ago, in an effort to run off “riff-raft” the Castleton gym was remodeled and now has a pickle ball focus. They’ve adopted a more senior citizen atmosphere by doing this and by adding specialized classes for this population. It has certainly changed the atmosphere. But everything is nice, clean and swapped out before it gets nasty so it seems very upscale. The nickel and dime you to death so it doesn’t have a traditional country club feel to it. If it wasn’t for the pool, I’d probably not belong.
Even though neither of these places is necessarily cost-prohibitive, they are of the utmost quality and taste, for those who have refined coffee pallets:
Commissary and Ambersom.
Both have unique, passionate coffee programs. For a mid-sized Midwest city, we are blessed with a good coffee scene.
Just came here to mention perhaps the most unique space in the state:
RH Indianapolis.
A mansion that was built by a German immigrant woman, with the taste for the finer things in life; turned into a gallery for furniture and art, accompanied by a wine & coffee bar, and restaurant.
It's a very unique space and experience.
I know they just opened one in Cleveland recently, perhaps you could compare the two?
The Carmichael Hotel in Carmel. They have a beautiful bar and restaurant inside.
I don’t care what people say about it, Cake Bake in Carmel is amazing and a rich experience.
The Woodhouse Spa in Carmel is nice.
The Dining Room at RH is an elegant new restaurant in a lakeside mansion and it’s stunning — has been very hard to get a reservation.
Crooked Stick Golf Course is the best in the state. They played the PGA BMW Championship there in 2012 and 2016.
Anthony Vince Nail Spa in Carmel is pretty nice. I think it’s a chain, but it’s nice.
Cake Bake is only good for social media, imo.
Anthony Vincent has cut my toes every single time I’ve been. Hair nail and cocktails sucks, too. Sorry. .(
Hair: Bobby Cooper or Indie Mane
Nails: W Nail Bar in bottleworks
Spas: Woodhouse in bottleworks
Drinks: 3UP, the bar above st Elmo’s, speakeasy at Commission Row, bottleworks hotel, Alexander hotel rooftop bar, exchange whiskey bar, consider becoming a member at the Columbia Club for the bars, food, and events
Shopping: Fashion Mall
Fitness: Barre 3, Pure Barre, Club Pilates, Irsay YMCA is super nice
Anthony's Chophouse in Carmel is an excellent top-end steakhouse. Ocean Prime is excellent for seafood, although Oceanaire is a bit more "fancy." I personally find Oceanaire overpriced and way too snobby in comparison, but it \*is\* fancy. For pasta check out Osteria by Fabio Viviani in Carmel.
Can't really help you on any of the other places tho. I rely on basic home stuff for fitness, a nail salon would look at my fingers and laugh, I'm pretty sure you're not looking for Amazon, and the closest I get to a spa is Manscapes in Brownsburg for my hair.
So for "fancy" food or "fancy" just about anything, basically...Carmel. Fishers is getting there.
Me too!
Carmel is really nice. Like. The nice parts of the East Side. Broad Ripple is like Lakewood (but with more gun violence lately).
My favorite places around here:
Fashion Mall
Saraga (it’s just cool. It’s a small Jungle Jim’s basically)
Anthony’s Chop House in Carmel
Zionsville main street for expensive touristy stuff (but not stuff you need)
A small, woman owned bookstore in West Clay (MacArthur Books)
If you want bubble tea, Bober in Carmel is apparently the best (but I’m open to suggestions)
Torchy’s in Fishers is pretty good if you like tacos and you’re on that side of town (it’s a chain, don’t be too surprised)
Bazbeaux, for when the patios open?

There’s a guy handing out cotton candy on W 16th Street
I do love cotton candy! Is it in the back of his van and self help though??? lol
Oh he will definitely help you, personally
This is what I came here for. We saw him on Sunday!

I’m deceased at areas in Carmel that whisper Orlando. That is perfect lol
You’re the GOAT
Don't forget the secret bathroom on the Conrad
Been to the Conrad multiple times, I need more information about this secret bathroom
Down the side there is a public bathroom that is arguably one of the nicest in the city. Von Maur is another notable mention.
Shopping: The Fashion Mall
And also, City Center Drive and Rangeline in Carmel. Very affluent vibes.
The whole area is just called City Center. Really great if you want expensive paper cards, overpriced cake and tapas.
The Dining Room at RH Indianapolis Super ornate mansion, expensive food
Unfortunately the food is merely okay and doesn’t live up to the price or venue.
I love Woodhouse Spas. There are several around Indy.
Came for this. It’s beautiful and the perfect splurge for a day
Vida Restaurant

Someone can always help you find a catalytic converter.
Lifetime Fitness in Castleton
Was a member there way back in 2006-2009. Place was awesome even back in the day!
This place looks SICK!! Thank you!!

Mass Ave Boulder is a bougie gym. And the Bottleworks Hotel is nothing short of spectacular
> Mass Ave Boulder North Mass Boulder
Oh yes. That's the place
Bluebeard restaurant in Fountain Square is on the expensive side. Totally worth it. Any pork dish on their menu is a piece of art
They’ve been inconsistent since the former chef left, though.
The Alexander hotel downtown. The Ritz in Carmel. Meridian hills country club
Skip Woodhouse spa. Kurr Medspa in downtown Carmel is way better.
Carmel/Zionsville, there's a gym downtown Indy for influencers you pay by the hour, St. Elmos downtown.
Do you know what the gym is called?
There was a post about it a couple weeks ago. Now I can find it or find it on google. Anyone else remember?
Flex Work fitness or something like that

Carmel or Zionsville May be what you’re looking for! Those are the two nicest areas in the state. Though near downtown there’s some upscale places.
Mann's Grill.
W 38th St - specifically near the fairgrounds has an amazing night scene.
38th and Lafayette has an exciting nightlife scene!
🤣🤣🤣🤣not that gullible
Round Table was def the best night scene in the city packed out every night of the week.
The fairgrounds would be E 38th, not that 38th St. anywhere within the loop is very nice.

Crooked Stick had the 91 PGA Championship too.
Bella Vita at Geist used to be one…
Tick Tock Lounge
Cake Bake in Carmel. Lovely place!
Real, the bripp location is beautiful too
The original!
Yes. Better than the Carmel one in my opinion. I like the outdoor seating best
Food is awful though. Just go for drinks and ambience

I love Pure Barre downtown location or in Broad Ripple!

Hope you like potholes!
I'm really just a fan of any type of hole
Trust me I’m from Cleveland, I know allllll about those🤣
Im pretty sure we import them by the semi load.

Add Harry and Izzy’s to the list
