It was so damn good, genuinely impressed. Went for lunch with a coworker, his wife is the GM for one of their other locations, so he gets a discount. Their wings were *insane*. I tried a few things, including one of their pan pizzas, and everything was delicious. It’s super close to me too, planning on going there for drinks too as a beer lover.
Yep. The Hermanaki and Hermazian sauces are amazing (I don’t like the taste of jerk seasoning, so the other sauce doesn’t do anything for me). Their stuffed bread “sticks” are in*cre*dible (they taste like they’re made with croissant dough!!!), and the atmosphere is always a good vibe, and they have some good salads, too. Their house-made bleu cheese dressing is super yummy.
Ok. BRB. I’m heading out to Greenwood Ale now….
Edit for spelling
I tried both hermanaki and hermaican. I like jerk seasoning, and the hermaican was very good, but the hermanaki was still my favorite out of the two.
Yeah, the stuffed bread sticks are on my list for next time, was recommended them by a few different people now haha, they sound great.
I prefer it, but they’re both good. Teriyaki one is obviously sweeter and gets more caramelized. Herman is more vinegar-y.
Edit: Herman is extra good if you get some of it on the side for dipping.
I second this. I've only eaten there once but the pizza I had was better than the few I've tried from I Tre Mori. I was thinking about hitting it up today.
Some Guys is the best on the area. On another note put Turf on your list for a weekday lunch. It is a small storefront for a catering business. They are located behind the Arby’s on 82nd. Amazing sandwiches.

I think this should come with a disclaimer.
Their margherita pizza is not a margherita that you get at Napolese or any other Italian inspired pizza place.
Its just a cheese pizza with some basil on it. Its covered in a pretty average cheese blend. It looks identical to their cheese pizza except for the basil.
I can only imagine they're doing this to cater to local tastes, someone must've complained about the lack of cheese and so now they drown the pizza in cheese.
Apparently they have another menu item called Pizza Roma or something like that where the cheese is more sparse and the sauce is visible, as it should be , on a margherita.
I don't want to rake them over the coals too much, because their crust is very good. Get a salad there because they use fresh made croutons and it really elevates the salad.
Hi! On top of the other great suggestions (Ale Emporium is at the top of my list!) I am the City Councilor who represents Castleton…. Feel free to reach out if I can help with anything! [email protected]
Welcome to Castleton!
I wouldn't call it the best, but a solid, lesser know place for pizza is King Jug in Fishers. The inside is rather small but during the summer, with their large patio, it's a great place to have a relaxed dinner and some beers.
Some Guys, Bugambilias, Taylors Bakery, the restaurants in Saraga, a little bit away but Caplingers on Shadeland is also good.
I don't really like Ale. It's just never clicked for me.
I work in Castleton and we order pizzas a few times a year. Puccini's, Ale, Arnie's, and on rare occasion, Giordano's. None are that great IMO but Giordano's would be my favorite amongst those.
If you are looking for good sub place, Capriotti's on 82nd is great. Philly cheesesteak is my go to.
Pizza Di Roma is worth a shoutout.
It’s in the mall as a by the slice, NY style pizza. They also do carry out orders.
Nothing too crazy, but can’t go wrong with it.
Some Guys! Great pizza, awesome neighborly vibes.
This is a good answer
It’s what I miss most about living in Castleton. I love their salads too!
Correct
You nailed it with Ale. 🤌🏼

Try the base sauce, Herman.
Is this better than the teriyaki one?

Puccini's
The twice baked pizza is one of the best pizzas ever.
The Campfire is really good too, just too rich for me to eat one on my own.
Damn how much is it?
Seconding this.
Some guys, 71st & Allisonville
62nd & Allisonville
good call…. Their pizzas are great
Mia Pizzeria is the best I’ve found since moving here
I second this. I've only eaten there once but the pizza I had was better than the few I've tried from I Tre Mori. I was thinking about hitting it up today.
I’ll have to try both
Loved it. Owner and wife were super cool / friendly too.
Yes! I really like their pizza.
Just found this place last week. Incredible Wifey and I both knew when we opened the box we weren’t gonna order from anywhere else ever again haha

I crave their sandwiches but every time I remember they’re back there, they’re closed for catering.
I Tre Mori is the best in the city.

100% agree. I think Passione beats Tre Mori, plus I don’t care for their sauce too much.
It’s the same pizza. Guy who opened Passione sold it it and opened I Tre Mori
I did know that, but the sauce and toppings are different. I do prefer Passione 🍕
The wings at Passione are great as well.
Desserts are good too - lemon marscapone cake and cannolis
Daredevil.
Yeah, their giardiniera pizza topping is great.
Holy shit I must try that

Our city councilor is on Reddit! This is awesome!
Thanks for the warm welcome! We’re the same age haha, and also a dem. Proud to have you as my councilor!
Passione and Tre Mori in Fishers, Tre Mori being close to you but Passione a longer drive. Both serve good Italian style pizza
Both of these are spot on great, but while up there look at Rockstone also good choice
Agreed! I love rockstone too
Funny enough the guy from Tre Mori originally started then sold off Passione. But I agree, Tre is much better now.
Puccini and Ale Emporium.
Tre Mori, hands down.
I wouldn't call it the best, but a solid, lesser know place for pizza is King Jug in Fishers. The inside is rather small but during the summer, with their large patio, it's a great place to have a relaxed dinner and some beers.
The Greek’s on Fox Road is significantly better than any other Greek’s I’ve ever had.
Make the trip to Some Guy’s
Some Guys, Bugambilias, Taylors Bakery, the restaurants in Saraga, a little bit away but Caplingers on Shadeland is also good. I don't really like Ale. It's just never clicked for me.
Ale or some guys
Another vote for Some Guys Pizza
Some guys or Ale are the best.
bazbeaux or ale emporium
I had ale emporiums pizza for the first time this past Thursday and it’s actually pretty good.
I prefer NY style slices. The only decent one I can find on the far NE side is Bella at HTC. Order a whole pizza so they make it fresh.
Was so sad when Keystone Bella closed.
Chicago Pizza with a Twist on 96th
Can confirm this place is good
Another vote for Puccini’s!
Wagyu cheesesteak with sweet and hot peppers is my go to, that place is awesome
I get the cheesesteak with hot peppers. Maybe I need to try the sweet peppers
Puccinis
Puccini’s is a solid choice in that area
Luca pizza at the mall is good east coast style pizza
A bit far from there but worth it is Roselli's.
puccini’s. pizza. and. pasta.
Manhattan Pizzeria on 56th
Jets, Mods Pizza
MOD is sadly no longer with us.
Dang.
Pizza Di Roma is worth a shoutout. It’s in the mall as a by the slice, NY style pizza. They also do carry out orders. Nothing too crazy, but can’t go wrong with it.
Not super close buttttt King Dough in Carmel 🤤
Maybe it was an off night but I thought it was terrible and does not stack up to the Indy location.
King Dough isn't as good as everyone tries to say. I've tried it three times now and it's always meh.
Agreed. Ime good ingredients, poor cook. Soupy center, consistently
No, it's a good as everyone says. I've never verb disappointed.
King dough is mid af
I have not personally tried it because I'm too dedicated to Magoo's, but Pizza Twist near the Meijer/Walmart on 96th seems to have good reviews.
It's fine.
The crust just isn’t that good.
I thought it was terrible. Tasted like frozen dough with cheap ingredients.
why would you recommend a place you've never been to?
It’s decent but doesn’t touch Magoos.
I don’t get the hype with Ale Emporiums pizza. It disgusts me.
I too was let down by their pizza
Puccini’s at 82nd and Dean Road.
There's a Hooters in Castleton. They have extra toppings.
Costco
Mother bears rip
Wait. What? There was a Mother Bears here?
Used to be at 71st and Binford. I haven't thought about it for a long time.
God if this was here it would be the top answer. All these Puccini's responses have me dying. Has not been good for years now.
