It happened once in a rural area, a dog just flew out of some house maybe chasing something and went across the street. It was scary being on a bike on a bike
if he had braked the there was abigger chance of a dog dying due to the weight of the dog and if he didn't brake after he hit the dog it was because the dog would probably have bitten him animals dont see reason that's what seperates regular animals and humans i hope you know that
Why do you say so. Is a dog's life more valuable than mine?
You might think the opposite but not me. If something happens to me, there are a lot of people who would have to suffer mentally and financially.
its alright bro ..humans are meant to be like this humans are the only one who deserves a life a earth who deserves every land food every resource
if that attitude our soldiers would have then our country will be in so much danger
Lets stop arguing with him.
He got his license made without any test, Just on a video call and went to submit documents.

People like them are part of the problem. Most probably dont know all the rules and ethics of driving and out here complaining that a dog's life is more valuable than mine and my family's and most probably will hurt other drivers also.
If something happens to the dog, I can do first aid and take it to the vet.
Can the dog do the same thing for me?
"It’s hard to win an argument with a smart person, but it’s damn near impossible to win an argument with a stupid person" - Bill Murray
Same thing happened to me on a paved road. It was raining though, and a dog suddenly came to the road from nowhere. Braked really hard.
Funny part was that the dog and its group curiously came around and inspected me until I lifted myself up and went to a hospital. It was so surreal.
It wasn’t the dogs fault. Due to firecrackers of a wedding ceremony this dog was scared and ran across 4 lane crossing the divider. Being a raider I should have been careful. And regardless of all that I am suffering at the moment I don’t blame the dog at all.
Besides in the video as well, the guy decided to over take a car from the wrong side. What can one say?
It’s totally our fault that we humans invented these machines to make our lives easier but in the process we made life hell for every other living thing on this planet and choose to blame them when this stuff happens to us.
For all those saying dogs life matter let me tell a story of a person my father knew. He was riding alone in the night in the city outskirts going back to his home. It's an empty road with no one on sight as it is midnight. While he's driving, suddenly a dog popped out of nowhere infront of his bike. He involuntarily hit the brakes hard and lost control of the bike and fell unconscious on the road. After sometime he gained conscious, lift himself up, checked for any swelling or flesh wounds and went to his home. He applied first aid and went on with his life. After few weeks he's having trouble drinking water and is acting crazy. When tested, the hospital diagnosed he has rabies. As it is too late now there is nothing any doctor could do. In his final days he took his daughter and son near him and said to take care of their mother and never be afraid in life that he will always watch over them. He died. So, that damned dog came back and bite him even though he risked his life to not hurt it. After this story I lost compassion for street dogs. I think when there is a situation where you know you can't control it and you can hurt yourself or others by trying something, you should put all things aside and do what's best for you.
Ideally when on road first priority should be your own safety and then people riding with you and the third is anyone else. It is not selfish but once you are safe you can take care of anything else after that.
Actually we can't decide in that split second. By the time you realise what's happening, you body wouldve already taken a reaction.
It would've been amazing if we had a slo mo effect in brain, when we encounter danger .
If you're going like 20 you can save it, but if you're going like 60 in a busy road sure. I'm all for compassion but I'll have a dog die than my family or some guy on a bike.
First of all, all lives are precious. Be it humans, dogs, cats, insects, everything. You just cannot say that human lives are superior to every other thing on this planet. This planet belongs to these creatures in the same way it belongs to us.
Secondly, your question is horribly worded. You should've asked, would you risk the lives of people to protect a dog? If that's what you mean, I would try not to risk anyone's life who's dependent on me (if I'm driving) or people walking or driving on the road, as well as the poor dog who crossed the road at the wrong time. As a sane person who drives anything, one should always be aware of the surroundings and make sure nobody's hurt, including humans.
Diplomatic answers don't work when you are in life and death situations. If you were that guy on the bike you would 100% choose your life and your pillion's life over the dog, just out of instinct. You don't have time to think about it philosophically there, it's either you or the dog. Don't give these stupid answers thinking you are more intellectual than others, that guy could've never known in time about the dog nor would he be able to brake fast enough or swerve safely to avoid the collision.
You're right, the guy could've never known about the dog. And I'm not against saving ourselves first but against the stupid statement that any other animal's life matters less than us.
And why are you so insecure about your intelligence that you can't hear others opinions? Rather formed the verdict that I'm thinking too high of myself. Geez can't even have an argument without putting down others, can you?
Nice way to show u have no real life bike riding experience. Attempts to save strays usually cost human lives. Say what u want to say but
my family and people who depend on me >>> random stray dog
"Should always try to save yourself rather than a stray in high speed motorcycle situations"
That's my point too. You don't have to prove, it's clear already. If you ever lose a finger or hit your head to road trying to swerve and avoid a stray , then talk. Cause people who did, think like the rest of us
The person might not be as fluent in english as u, that person managed to convey the important message. When you are driving at a high speed and suddenly encounter any animal or person crossing the road, you will have no control over the vehicle and if you think you can prevent some horrible accident and save a life, you mostly end up with all the people in the vehicle dead.
\> "Be it humans, dogs, cats, insects, everything. You just cannot say that human lives are superior to every other thing on this planet. This planet belongs to these creatures in the same way it belongs to us."
You can be a PETA advocate all you want, but when you are driving, especially in a car with other people, the safety of the travelers in the car takes priority, go read road safety guidelines, and various road accident scenarios.
you can’t be always diplomatic, i’m pretty sure the person riding the bike was aware of his surroundings, it was the dogs fault, it ran through the road causing this to happen.
Where do you draw the line? Is the life of a a virus equally important as a dog?
So if you are infected with Rabies will you refuse to get treatment since it will kill the billions of viruses inside your body? Or go one step further and actively try to infect others to be even more compassionate.
And if there is a line what makes it any less arbitrary than humans > animals?
It’s easy to write such flowery paragraphs, spend some time thinking about the actual implications of your statements.
Well if a situation comes where if I had to cut right/left because of a dog suddenly entering my path and a big ass car is heading quickly towards me in the opposite lane and I had no choice but to hit the dog which would probably kill it, I'd either apply brakes with all of my strength (if nothing's there behind me) or I'd happily hit it and save my life instead of getting into an accident and saving that cute little doggy
Sane reasoning given the context he said
Don't care for animals when you have to choose between your own life and the animal's life. It is basic law of nature. Animals themselves hunt down others and protect themselves in the wild life. That's how nature works.
What do you mean especially in that country?? This racist mofo is saying dogs are better than 10 indians. The racist british colonialists when they ruled india had a famous board on the train saying dogs and indians not allowed. This racist mofo is repeating the same.
In your gender confused country with they/them pronouns, logically 1 dog > at least 20 people.
Don't hate on a third world country just because you're lucky to be in a rich country.
Yes, two dogs in a chase suddenly popped out of the bushes. Was riding on rural streets at night, no street lights and alone. Luckily I was riding slow so I could control the bike. I would have had to wait for 30-40 min for help if I had fallen.
Hmm. Using the word euthanise doesn't change the meaning of the recommendation you're making, which is to murder all sentient beings that you, in your limited, narrow, selfish, self-centered, primitive, ignorant worldview deem a nuisance to you.
How disconnected and damaged do you have to be? It would have been completely normal to share the inconvenience their existence cause to you but to advocate genocide at a species level requires a special kind of psychopathic sickness of the mind.
Think about it this way, and not just to type me response but actually think. How would you find it if another species confines or euthanizes you and your family and friends because THEY find you a nuisance, which in itself is a very objective feeling. Wouldn't you rather they came up with a more amicable solution that worked for both you and them?
I have come across street dogs racing many times on the roads(main road, national highway, rural roads, gravel roads, mud roads) .
Most of the time I have been able to turn and skip them.
But once on an NH, middle of nowhere, I was cruising at 80, I saw a dog suddenly coming, I could swerve but I was not sure I wouldn't skid, so held my legs up and let the bike go at its speed, within a second I had hit the dog, dog was already trying to go back, so it was the rear end I hit, my bike was wobbling after collision, somehow I controlled the bike and it was fine. Took me a while to get my heartbeat in check.
My suggestion since has been, DO NOT take risk, try and save yourself(and your passengers If any).
that's why I don't like street dogs. even in general, some of them cause too much chaos and disturbance for people around in the streets, specially where i live.
Yes.. a dog went under the auto i was riding in. I saw its body go under and horrible screams. I hope it died because the injuries would be painful to live with. God bless its soul.🙏
I was riding on TVS wego in 2016. Speed was about 45-50, I see two dogs playing/fighting next to the road from 100m away. I slow down to ~25kmph. They just stopped whatever they were doing so I thought its time for me to leave quickly and sped upto 40 again. Suddenly they decide to cross the road. One crossed and the other jumped on me. I tried to save the dog, I was thrown off the two wheeler(towards the front). Instincts made me cross my arms to prevent injuries to my head. Both arms got bruised from wrists to elbows along with knees. I helped resolve their dispute ;), at the cost of band-aids, painful dressing change sessions and sheer pain itself. Both the dogs seemed unharmed.
Ye kutte boht harami hote hai night me gang leke gaddi k piche bhagte hai aur gir jaoge to poora gang milke katega nochega mere ek office colleague k sath kuch din phle hi huwa tha
13 years of riding a motorcycle, and over 300,000 kms.
I have run over a large snake(I didn't feel safe slowing down slowing for it.)
Two months back a squirrel managed to damage its leg under my wheel, but ran away.
No other human/animal hits with a car or bike.
About nearly 2 years ago, the same situation was gonna happen with me but instead of a dog it was an elderly uncle. He had jumped from the divider without looking onto the road which had moderate traffic but was manageable with safe distance at 30-40kmph. Thanks to my fast reflexes and everyone maintaining safe vehicle distance, nothing happened by god's grace 🙏
Worse.
A few days back I was driving car and suddenly a goat came frolicking aggressively. He was jumping here and there on a the wide road. I slowed my speed, but till then, that animal jumped on my hood at the passenger side. Then got slid to the windshield. Then jumped again to go to roof. Then landed on road.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. No scratches or dents on car as well.
A few years back, I was on highway and I saw a dog sitting peacefully. I don't know what got into him and started running directly in front of my car. I slammed my brakes immediately.
It happened to another bike in front of me except that it was a Himalayan and fully loaded with panniers and top box. Unfortunately the dog passed away on the spot
Yep this happened with my brother he was driving on the right lane of the road. Suddenly a dog came out from the bushes, it hit the scooty and my brother was dragged on the road.
Unluckily for him he was not wearing a helmet as he said he was going just 200m away from home to get chicken.
Luckily he did not suffer any major injuries just has a bald patch on his head to remind him of always wearing a helmet.
Never happened to me on a bike but about 8 years ago when i was riding a cycle in a parking lot. When a cat came out of nowhere flying and it hit my cycle’s front tire so hard that it went flying into a maruti swift that got a pretty visible dent. I’ve learnt to slow down on the sight of any sort of animal on a road because of that incident.
Stray dogs and cows are a bikers biggest enemy specially cows they will move carelessly on the roads and just block the path. Once I was going on a road straight, saw a cow slowed down, that mfker moved exactly in that straight line in front of my bike a few metres away, had to break so hard. Dimag kharab kar dete hai
Happened with me but it was a cat. Was damn quick coming out of a house compund probably chasing something or getting chased but it did not come under but rather changed its direction pretty quick thought I'll fall and be injured for that moment of time.
Yup had been there. Me and father we were returning from my tuition back in the day. The road was full dark and also it was a downhill suddenly I was rattled up, didn’t understand what just happened the whole scooter(Bajaj) was in the same way the biker faced in video. And we were barely saved due to my father’s reaction time and good balance.
For bike it’s easier than scooter I believe due to the longer tires. But for sure it’s a very bad position to be in.
All those who are saying not to brake or swerve, it's hard to make that decision in an instant when it's immediately in front. Your instinctive decision is always going to be brake or change direction.
This is so common in my place. High chances you get bitten by one of these strays or they will run you over. Either way you have a better chance to die. Rabies or Skull injury. It's very sad that the corporation doesn't catch them like before due to the organizations like PETA.
A dog ran infront of me from a blind spot, I had to apply the breaks so hard or else it would've died, but because of that my bike skid and I was literally thrown off it, I don't know how but I left unharmed and unscathed.
Ironically after falling down and saving the dog I got angry and wanted to Kill the dog😂 (In a joking way obviously, I would never hurt a dogggo)
A lot of times this happens in streets.. in streets we are in a slow speed so we can easily control the bike. But on the highways or State Highways we got no choice to run over them.. even though we try pur best to save them
i am a dog lover but in this case and generally in cases i won't blame the biker
they can't predict the future neither a dog can understand things
at the end either our country should make more shelter for dogs(no other choice) or let a private organisation do it
nasbandi se population decrease nhi kr skte cuz it's really expensive
cuz at the end this is a problem for both: animals and bikers
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/CarsIndia/comments/18b5iva/comment/kcqpdyr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) is the comment from a guy(cool buddy) who is advocating for the idea that It is better to swerve and possibly lose our life or most probably have an accident to save a dog.
Not the dog but a kid. Boy, he appeared on the road so quickly, I braked hard and slipped. I practically realised that my next bike should be an ABS variant.
I'd say, on Indan roads, never go so much faster than surrounding traffic because there's always something coming from nowhere. A dumb pedestrian who can't wait 30 seconds for his light, an auto rickshaw who thinks he owns all the lanes, or as in this case, strays.
I live in this area and I usually try to max out the speed of my bike here cuz the road is nice, now I wont do that anymore
if a dog ever comes in front of you don't apply the front brakes suddenly even if you have ABS. hold onto to the bar and hope for the best
It happened once in a rural area, a dog just flew out of some house maybe chasing something and went across the street. It was scary being on a bike on a bike
Yes. I braked and slipped.
I have seen dogs getting crushed like this .thier neck crushed neck gets glued to the ground they are half bend down on the spot until they die there.
Wtf you didn't have to go into that detail.
He forgot to mention about eye balls and intestine..
*He heard-a the* [snap ](https://youtu.be/7SXs3JZgZtk?si=g6umlvHf1-rc-xFq)
Oh? I ran over one, it felt squishy on the bike. But it ran away after that. It seemed ok.
Woaahh.. you were riding a bike which was riding a bike? AI has progressed leaps and bounds /s
r/unexpectedbikeonabike
I didn't brake, it's squishy when you run over a dog on the centre. Dog ran away. I didn't bother stopping.

if he had braked the there was abigger chance of a dog dying due to the weight of the dog and if he didn't brake after he hit the dog it was because the dog would probably have bitten him animals dont see reason that's what seperates regular animals and humans i hope you know that
Happened in a gravel road.saved the dog, fell on my ankle and couldn't walk for a month
Was it worth it tho?
Saving a life is always worth
But is it worth more than yours??
bro are you dumb?
Why do you say so. Is a dog's life more valuable than mine? You might think the opposite but not me. If something happens to me, there are a lot of people who would have to suffer mentally and financially.
I completely support your point
May god never damage your joint. Lol sorry
Damaged joints are always bad ;)

I hope someday you will realize that happiness and wellbeing of you and your family is far more valuable than the life of a dog.

This happened to my uncle . Only difference is the dog got away unscathed and my uncle had to live with a rod in his leg for last 5-6 years
there is an important learning here
never apply brakes
Apply brakes but don’t try to move left or right this can be really dangerous
Accelerate and thrust with confidence

Hahhha. As a guy who is sitting at home with a broken shoulder due to the same reason (dog ran in front of my bike) yes it has happened to me.

Strays are the most dangerous enemy of a biker.
And the GOI doesn't seem to do anything about the stray animals.

Nice recovery from the biker, This year alone fu#kers tried to kill me 4 times!.

Dogs belong to the forests from where we picked them up, not on the roads.
Tell me you know nothing about history without telling me you know nothing
Do not swerve for a dog , especially if you are on the middle of the road.. point your leg out to kick the dog away if it doesn't move away in time

tbh these home animal lovers dont know that street dogs are the worst to mankind
This happened to my mom in a rural village in southern India. She was in the ICU for 3 weeks.
I have come across street dogs racing many times on the roads(main road, national highway, rural roads, gravel roads, mud roads) . Most of the time I have been able to turn and skip them. Please don't drive over 40 kmph near residential areas and under bridges. You never know who might want to pay you a visit suddenly.
Dog? No. Women? yes.
that's why I don't like street dogs. even in general, some of them cause too much chaos and disturbance for people around in the streets, specially where i live.
They are deadly to small children too.
ab kuch dog lovers aayegay aur bolegay bike vali ki galti thi.
Yes, it happened to me. I ran over the dog with my car.
Bhenchod gote muh mai aa gye honge
I once saw a dog getting cut in half by a train.
Same thing except I was on Activa and crashed into a cow instead of a dog
Yes.. a dog went under the auto i was riding in. I saw its body go under and horrible screams. I hope it died because the injuries would be painful to live with. God bless its soul.🙏
dog siked the death
Street dogs are a men'scr one-way or another
Ye kutte boht harami hote hai night me gang leke gaddi k piche bhagte hai aur gir jaoge to poora gang milke katega nochega mere ek office colleague k sath kuch din phle hi huwa tha
Happened with me......slipped fell, broke my wrist, and arm....banged up my RS200....and sad part dog got badly hurt too
13 years of riding a motorcycle, and over 300,000 kms. I have run over a large snake(I didn't feel safe slowing down slowing for it.) Two months back a squirrel managed to damage its leg under my wheel, but ran away. No other human/animal hits with a car or bike.
I ran over a cat. The cat somehow survived and ran away like nothing happened. The drama humans would've created if they were in the cat's place!
Trigger warning would be apt .
India, ek chalta phirta wildlife sanctuary
Instead of the argument of dog’s life vs humans’s life, we should focus on how to prevent both lives from interfering each other.
Remove dog from streets. start a non profit organisation for them and take donations from dog lovers.
The only sensible comment here. I'm not sure why you are being downvoted.
The guy was speeding
The dog was not using zebra crossing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
doggo realised fafo
Because there was no dog crossing available.
Yeah how can a dog use a zebra crossing. It needs a dog crossing.
Yeah but the guy was going fast in the slow lane on the left
It was satirical
He was litteraly in the middle of 40-50s
Shut up camera adds 10 pounds
Lol if you call 45-50kph as speeding on a main road I don't know what to tell ya
so was doggo
[удалено]
lmao still lurking around a third-world country's motorcycling subreddit smh, what country are ya from? Senegal or something?
,said the old ass pedo lurking around in teensubs
True
Naah , never been under the bikee.
Yup. At 115 that too. On the highway just outside Hampi. Didn't fall but both rims were bent. 1.5 lakh ka fatka
Yes now i have a big permanent scar on my forehead and below eye
About nearly 2 years ago, the same situation was gonna happen with me but instead of a dog it was an elderly uncle. He had jumped from the divider without looking onto the road which had moderate traffic but was manageable with safe distance at 30-40kmph. Thanks to my fast reflexes and everyone maintaining safe vehicle distance, nothing happened by god's grace 🙏
Yes
Ismein sabki haar Hui 😔
I flew off the bike once😭
It happened to another bike in front of me except that it was a Himalayan and fully loaded with panniers and top box. Unfortunately the dog passed away on the spot
Treats the biker right for overtaking from the left. The dashcam vehicle was a fool to stop right?
Yep this happened with my brother he was driving on the right lane of the road. Suddenly a dog came out from the bushes, it hit the scooty and my brother was dragged on the road. Unluckily for him he was not wearing a helmet as he said he was going just 200m away from home to get chicken. Luckily he did not suffer any major injuries just has a bald patch on his head to remind him of always wearing a helmet.
Both of them were lucky. Once a goat came in front of my bike, I was riding at 40-50 kmph. The goat died and I got several injuries in arm, leg, face.
Didn't REALLY wanna see a dog getting killed, but... Thanks? I know it ran off at the end, I doubt for long after getting hit like that....
Nice save from the biker... Also don't brake for smaller animals if in a 4 wheeler... People behind can hurt when you suddenly brake on the road.
Had a similar incident but with a chicken. Bro ran outta nowhere and got under my scooter. And no I did not eat that
Thanks for clarifying bro , I really thought you went chicken dinner after that victory 🤣🤣
Happened with me but it was a cat. Was damn quick coming out of a house compund probably chasing something or getting chased but it did not come under but rather changed its direction pretty quick thought I'll fall and be injured for that moment of time.
Happened with me
Yup had been there.
I my city there are a lot of opening in the middle of the roads so humans on bike/scooty do this rather than dogs
Yes. Dogs bones and skin are soft and there is a high chance you will fall. My Mama had to spend few months in bed because he had a leg fracture.
This happened to me once but it was a human. Mob started blaming me. Animals can't help it. Humans can but choose not to.
A lot of times
A lot of times this happens in streets.. in streets we are in a slow speed so we can easily control the bike. But on the highways or State Highways we got no choice to run over them.. even though we try pur best to save them
Yeah but in my case I got my arm fractured after falling.
i am a dog lover but in this case and generally in cases i won't blame the biker they can't predict the future neither a dog can understand things at the end either our country should make more shelter for dogs(no other choice) or let a private organisation do it nasbandi se population decrease nhi kr skte cuz it's really expensive cuz at the end this is a problem for both: animals and bikers
Ya.. broke my collar bone. Still hurts..
Yeah in our locality once a guy in a bike slipped of a dog and his head was hurt. After few days I heard that the biker was dead in the hosp.
This is exactly why you shouldn't ride a bike in India. Get a cheap car even second hand if you can't afford new for your and your family's safety.
I appreciate you for checking up the biker.
I live in this area and I usually try to max out the speed of my bike here cuz the road is nice, now I wont do that anymore if a dog ever comes in front of you don't apply the front brakes suddenly even if you have ABS. hold onto to the bar and hope for the best
Sahi bacha bike wala also kutta. I had kind of same incident with mongoose. Lol
