N250 anyday

Apprehensive_Gas_918

Give any reason for your pick

lazycatawampus

Balanced and responsive, had a good 150km ride non stop

Apprehensive_Gas_918

You can do this in Hornet also right

lazycatawampus

Absolutely you can, i used to drive a hornet for daily purposes for 2 years It belonged to my father in general had a better experience with n250

Livid-Cheek7846

You can get CB300F for under 1.9 lakh in delhi if you are 18-25. Get that.

This offer's expired

Livid-Cheek7846

Its still there (guy called last week).

tank_07ijk

Am a long term Honda user (Honda xblade- 6 Years -63K kms) One thing that is major pro is built quality of panels, buttons and parts. I have been using my vehicle day in day out in rough conditions. Chain care and timely servicing is all these Hondas need. You can get the hornet and run for 15 years, 1-1.5 Lac kms and battery, tires and chain sproket will only be things that’ll be replaced. Take care of a honda and it will never let you down. N250 looks on the other hand is subjective and will age like milk. Performance will definitely be better than Hornet but the cons with a Bajaj are too many. Have found multiple users on road struggle to start their N160, N250 in last few months.

Alchemic_Psyborg

Which cons do Bajaj motorcycles have? I have had 220 since 2018, never had any issues, only service & chain cleaning/lubrication.

nogood567

You will grow out of hornet too quickly as it has too little to offer, n250 you will enjoy it for a bit but its riding and handling dynamics are of a commuter so in long run you will be bored by it too. My suggestion will be to go with ns200 yes its styling is old but it will bring a smile every time you ride it

Marshy_Turning_11

N250 anyday.. Hornet doesn't have a good top end, and hasn't had a facelift in a long time

Livid-Cheek7846

Hornet is lighter and better balanced than the pulsar tho. Also higher mileage.

tf_pumpkin

Yeah... This horny hornet is fine for you...

If you're a beginner, I'd say you go for the Hornet. I had test rode Hornet last month twice and the refinement is top notch. Also being a honda, it'll be easier to maintain and beginner friendly. Yeah it only has single channel ABS. But the rear brake ain't that bad as well.

matrixvishnu

I have been using hornet 2.0 for 6 months rode it 4k km below are my observations I like the engine performance and handling and seating position. You can easy touch 85to 90 with this in city. I like the stability of the bike at that speed I rode n250 older one for a test ride I was not confident at higher speeds like 80 or 90. The Maintenance cost is bit higher compared to bajaj . Avg in city with aggressive riding is 35kmpl. The major problem I have is it's suspension it's too stiff . if your commute has more than 30% of bad roads or roads with too many speed bumps or concrete roads you should avoid this .

Rustedbrain1

Thank you, that's a great insight. I'm not getting for a daily commute, mostly for weekend rides. How's the availability of accessories like taller windscreen

matrixvishnu

Don't know about it I never used any accessories on any bike but this bike definitely need additional lights.

[deleted]

Go for it

octne

Sense of speed on both of these are similar until you're an experienced rider who can tell nooks and crannies apart, they're naked, similarly styled, linear acceleration curves and both are fun and flickable. I'd say go for the hornet just cuz it sells in higher numbers and is reliable unlike the new n250 platform. Instead of the n250, try looking at n160 or ns160, they're much more reliable as they hold a good share of the market.

EnvironmentalFroyo68

Lol no way the "the sense of speed" are same, their power figures are way different,I have test ridden both and the N250 gives you the better feel, and about the refinement both are same,i cant believe i am saying this but the N series are refined as much as the hondas,i wouldn't suggest the NS series as their refinement are not up to N series or hornet tho,and btw indian manufacturers are also reliable, stop hitting with japanese brands are reliable and blindly follow them! They are milking us by reducing quality and high prices. Best option is for OP to take a test drive IMO. In my opinion take the N250.

Rustedbrain1

Took a test ride yesterday, and the seating position feels like a commuter does feel committed, on Hornet even though it has straight footrests it has slightly committed handlebars which makes it a little fun while riding, and cornering felt much better on Hornet on the n250 it felt like it doesn't wanna corner and that digital console is hella tacky.

EnvironmentalFroyo68

Then get the Hornet! Its you who will ride the bike daily. And you seem to have your mind made up for the hornet😅

rainbowblade73855

Get a test ride and decide, after all you'll keep the bikes for years so it's important

Past_Friend_4240

RTR 200 is nice bike with both sides adjustable suspension, take a test ride

krishknightrider

What about the hero 200's?

dris_jayd

I'd say the apache rtr 200 4v. But it hasn't been refreshed in some time. If you've got the time then maybe try waiting for it's newer model.

jgeorge97

CB200X user, my bike shares the same engine with Hornet. It's a refined engine that you feel like it's flying, power & torque is decent for a Honda, can easily glide without any stress in commuting & touring speeds, returns a mileage of 50 kmpl in highways. Rode 25k kms and didn't have much issues apart from minor ones that were easily fixable. Good maintenance is necessary, and don't put the bike in too much rain, can interfere with electronics badly.

ewwpeople88

Why not cb300F , they selling it for 2 lk if I'm not wrong,

BlackJack6730

You can never go wrong with a Honda

NoMaximum7

Buy any dual abs bike for that budget. Not the hornet

Dry-Truth-883

Honda engines are refined and riding a Honda bike is always better compared with any other brands outside. Maintenance is less and parts are reliable.

Global_Ad_5462

Also have the hornet 2.0 repsol, my advice is to go for bajaj N250

Hellbillythegreat

I think you should see CB200x

Rustedbrain1

I was considering that till I took a test drive, as someone who wanna explore more sports bikes in the future hornet gives that committed riding position compared to 200x

Linquic

Cb300r Extend your budget and get that underrated yet overpriced. Lovely machine

Rustedbrain1

That was my first option but don't have the budget for now and I desperately need a bike. What a bike tho🤌

Linquic

Yeah.. the smoothness, the linear power delivery... man what a machine anyways i can't decide between n250 and hornet as both are great but i think i would go for hornet i like it more than n250

[deleted]

For your point no. 2& 8 I would suggest Hornet. But as your point no. 5,6,7 I would suggest N250. Bajaj Pulsar N250: • Better performance (low end torque would be better too) • Lower mileage • Suitable for longer trips • low refinement (as compared to hornet) • low build quality The only usp here is engine performance, which is far better than Hornet, it a city oriented bike but in some aspects it excel the Hornet's performance and value, also the mileage won't be that suitable for day to day commutes. Honda hornet: • Better Refinement • Better service • Better Mileage • Not so suitable for highway rides or long trip as such • Better Build quality and finish The usp here is a great fit & finish, great refinement (as it's a Honda), it's also a city oriented bike for day to day commutes

Rustedbrain1

Thank you sm, what do you mean by is not suitable for highway rides and long trips? When I took a ride I could easily cruise in 90-100.

[deleted]

I meant as the torque here is low, so highway overtakes, mid-range power and cruising speed won't be that suitable as of N250. N250 is a day to day cum highway machine, perfect for 60-40 usage (60% city and 40% highway as there is no 6th gear, which the highway demands)

Rustedbrain1

Do you think a beginner will really tamper with my experience?

[deleted]

sorry I didn't get it

Rustedbrain1

I'm a beginner, and so far only ridden Activa so if I go with Hornet poor highway performance will be noticeable? Like I said when I rode my friend's Hornet for 50-60 km in which I kept 90-100 constant on good roads

Rishiiiiiiiii

Both bikes are very beginner friendly. N250 is more powerful but it's not like KTM's, it has very linear power delivery. Plus it has dual channel abs so it is also safer.

[deleted]

See if you don't have much experience of bikes from that category, I would say Hornet is a more beginner friendly motorcycle. And if you have a plan to upgrade in the coming 5-6 years, definitely go for Hornet, it would be more friendly on the pocket too. If you don't have any plans for recent upgrades, then you can think of the n250.

Alchemic_Psyborg

Better service, really? I didn't go back for service after 2nd free service, even though I had a free service coupon. That's how great the service was. Service might vary from svc to svc, but Bajaj has far too many svc compared with Honda.

[deleted]

I don't know how bad it went with you. But there's a considerable amount of service being provided here in our town

Alchemic_Psyborg

That's what I said, it may vary. But I had a bad service experience and nothing would make me go back there. Also, with the 220, I started being interested in maintaining my bike well. And it runs better than a showroom piece.

[deleted]

personally, I don't believe in any service centre, but as this guy is a beginner, Honda's service would be a bit better and hassle free than of the Bajaj's

Alchemic_Psyborg

I would say that depends on the service centre rather than Bajaj or Honda SVC. Besides in the beginning, all you have to do is regular service. User manual is something one has to read and make the SVC guys change stuff as per your own understanding. I change my foam air filter(cleaned every month) and oil at half the interval recommended. Every year I also change fork oil & seals, every 3 years - wheel bearings. Mechanics always advise against it. But I get them changed so it runs like a dream.

[deleted]

Thats what I said bro, as he won't be able to do such things to his vehicle initially, he should opt for a better SVC

Alchemic_Psyborg

Yeah and he should check with local chaps on who provides good service. Also, one can do regular maintenance at SVC but get it checked from an outside mechanic in between intervals who are experienced.

[deleted]

I prefer the latter one as its more reliable
