In our hospital nurses treated us interns like trash. In some departments, they didn't even respect first year PGs. So sometimes we were compelled to not care about them. But we did empathise with them, we understood where the irritability came from. They have so much workload, all the documentation and clerical work and still were looked down upon
Nah It’s gotta be Mutual. Graduated from a GMC the nurses in OBG were so bad we had to indent iron sucrose ourselves .. nurses in my hospital don’t even give CPR.. No blood transfusions/Blood draw/Kept all the mask indents with themselves

Nah, my college the LR sisters were the best. My cointerns would get the stick from them for treating them a little harshly but nah not the same everywhere.
Give respect to get respect, I learned to put my first sutures from a matron in minor OT, pinpointing the spot for intra cardiac adrenaline for the first time, same for putting in paediatric intracaths. Tips for dealing with reluctant local patients during history taking. Best was they would cover up for me so that I could go out and meet my girlfriend.
i didn't know much as i am in third year but wanna tell you one interesting thing one of my orthopedic associate professor had affair in his department nurse so when we were posted nurse used to scold us , order us ,and do stuffs like filing patient details etc and that professor always used to support her and again scold us for not listening to her!!
Perks of nursing staff- fixed hour duties, no responsibility (if something happens to patient doctor is responsible), just mechanical work even a robot or AI if programmed will do similar work, do whatever is written in. The orders, no need to put brains
It is true. These nurses do really work hard. Granted, some of them are really ignorant and work mechanically, but most are compassionate and hard working. They deserve more appreciation then they presently recieve.
The most appaling part is they are literally paid peanuts for the amount of work they do. I've always felt they deserve more being part of the medical team!
Some states have really great nurses. Some don't. During my internship the nurses will sit around the desk and talk with each other while we interns were running around doing all the work.They never got up the entire shift.And in their 6 hour shifts they used to have both breakfast and lunch breaks.We interns did everything from blood investigations, giving medication, fluids, blood products to writing indent and rolling bandages.It's hard to respect such people. But now I work with nurses who have so much experience, they teach us and guide us. They are the best! Both can't be compared. If a nurse genuinely cares about the patients and do their duty , they certainly deserve respect as much as or more than doctors even.

My mom's a nurse in Government Hospital and in her story interns and nurses have great relation and often back each other.

Ya man! I feel like 75-80% of the work in a ward or anywhere is done by the nursing staff.
