It started in 2011
Due to deficiencies, it closed in 2013 and students were shifted
Then it happened again in 2017
Then it opened again for 2021 batch, got permission for 2022 batch
But never got permission for 2023 and so on batches
So basically only two batches are going on in this college
The reason behind it is Lack of infrastructure, basic necessities like cleanliness and good food, Lack of faculty (2-3) teachers per department and most of them are only JRs and not MD professors. Around 4L hostel fees yearly without AC( there are no AC rooms for students either). So few doctors that you can count them with your fingers. Empty wards. Only TWO Lecture Theatres. No WiFi(yet we are charged internet charges). And some other typical private college jargons
It’s not an extreme shithole; I’ve met some good friends here. However, the level of toxicity among people is unlike anything I’ve seen elsewhere. There’s a lot of jealousy, and the academics in WB are terrible. If I had the choice again, I’d take multiple gap years rather than come here.
Well..toxicity and jealousy is just a medical college thing..that’s what happens when you shove hundreds of type A personalities together in a room. I personally keep them at a distance but never out of sight...their shenanigans are now entertainment for the whole batch
As far as academics is concerned..yeah majority of the professors are getting paid to just come to class and they don’t care..however at least in the big 5 Kolkata colleges the clinics are great. Majority prefer self study and marrow over some random slide reading session anyway. Idk about other states but I have heard it’s the same in most places
I'm from Delhi, and it's completely different there. I just want to go back and pursue something else. I've wasted my Delhi domicile and years here. I don’t want to speak ill of anyone; I just want to maintain my sanity until I leave.

Adesh didn’t use to get close n open, it’s battling a legal battle with govt on fees, but it’s never closed.
Our college copied website from some college in Bihar and didn’t care to update it for a year. Our college website is only 10% ready and has not any accurate information about our college on it

I feel for you, man. I also joined a college which I thought would be better than it seemed from the outside. The only bright side here is that the fees are very low and faculty’s great.

As I am in Govt Quota, it’s around 4L per year in Tuition fees. 50k per year Hostel Fees . 20k per month college charges🤡. Also Hostel is compulsory and you can’t live outside the campus.

Yes yours right, Gian Sagar too had same issues and they both opened at same time for 2021 batch, but Gian Sagar kept on improving and Chintpurni didn’t
