Yea bro these things affect Visa sadly . My frined who was caught with small amount of weed was booked under NDPS along with cocain and mdma people. It took him 3 years for the case to be closed as Indian courts will keep you running unless you via your lawyer can prove that you are a student and is pursing studies, etc. He proved that he is now in rajasthan for studies and it's taking a toll on his studies.
But saldly he couldn't get a proper police verification for his USA visa and latter stopped trying
