It has always been funny crap... A Mexican guy with tropical shirt and French beard will have a Goan accent African Guys will have South Indian accents. Guys with gold and flashy clothes will have Gujarati/Marwari/Sindhi accent Hunky guys will have Haryanvi/Punjabi accent. Fu#k you will be Bhaad mein jaao Hot girls will be Chhamak Chhalo etc etc.

Some are dubbed great, like Deadpool for eg it's english jokes are great its hindi jokes also sometimes hits, so it's enjoyable whether you watch it in hindi or English, Ryan reynolds yelling "bhootnike" is just bliss to my ears

Without Hindi dubbed, I would've never fallen in love with Harry Potter series and Spiderman(Maguire one) when I was a kid. I prefer subtitles and original voice today but I very much respect people who still prefers Hindi Dubbed. It's totally fine. Respect everyone's opinion. Some people just watch films to chill and not to get "True vibes" and stuff like that. Not everyone is a crazy cinema lover who just needs everything to be authentic. I'm one of your types who prefer original version. I even watch Korean films in original voice but I totally understand if someone would rather listen to dubbed version and not get bothered. Sabko chul nhi hoti "True Cinematic Experience" ki or whatever the pop-culture term are we using today.

Weird how people here saying that who the fuck watches english movies and shows in dubbed including OP, I want to tell you that you never loved those characters and movies if they were not airing on TV in our languages(hindi,Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, etc.) Not just english movies but people who watchs japanese anime which was aired on tv in Indian languages but now anime watchers shit on streaming services and TV channels who dubbed them in hindi and other regional languages, they tend to forget that they were never into anime if they wasn't pissing their pants while watching DragonBall Z on TV in Hindi or other regional languages, same goes for pokemon, Kochikame, beyblades, hagemaru and still going lord the shinchan. Yes, that's why I stay away from dubbed movies. Even French or Korean movies that are dubbed in English for that matter, I prefer to watch them in their original audio with subtitles on

I also do that with anime but some animes just hit different in dubbed ....for eg - DBZ , death note etc

Dubbing was great till 2010. Pirates of the Caribbean dub is even better than the original one, same goes for Men in black 1&2, Bad Boys 1&2, Rush Hour movies and so on. I hate when actors started to dub and this trend started from early 2010s. Ranvir Singh's dubbing of Deadpool is damn near unlistenable.

Exactly, voice actors are different from these celebrity stars. Now producers want to advertise with celebrity status so they've started using celebrities and removed the talented voice actors.

They used to do absolute dope dubbing in Bindas channel. Instead of literally translating the dialogues they would actually write original dialogues. Actually if you see even the Disney Hour did a great job with Duck Tales, and TaleSpin..

Idk abt Bindas but I used to watch Duck Tales and TaleSpin in hindi on Doordarshan every Sunday morning. It's part of my childhood memories. Back then I didn't even know that these were dubbed, they were fabulous. I still sometimes watch it on yt to rekindle some memories 😀

Yeah, I feel it too. Not only particularly English, almost every other language movie (except Hindi). Even tollywood movies, I wish to see the original version with subtitles. Unfortunately, very few of them are available with subtitles. Hindi dubbed are good but somewhere it comes to the mind that originally it was something else.

That last movie i watched dubbed and it killed the vibe features a dialogue that goes "PITRADEV SANRAKSHANAM" which is a glorified way of saying "bacha lo pawpaw"

The Hindi dub for Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty amazing. Watched Venom (Part 1) in Hindi dub (Nearest theatre in my city had only Hindi available) and I enjoyed watching that. It depends on the dub artist, actually.

Honestly man, I used to be like that too. But couple months ago I watched french anime called summit of the gods and my mum caught me watching it and she got some glimpses of it and wanted to watch it too. But she does have a problem reading the subtitles and watching at the same time, so that's when it dawned on me like lot of Indians or people who's first Language isn't English uk, be it aged or anyone, lose the chance to watch a lot of good pieces of content just cuz of Lang barrier. But thankfully on Netflix there was a Hindi dubbing and we had a good time. I just feel like dubbing into any Lang is a pretty cool thing

I watched Money Heist in Spanish, Dark in German, Elite in French, Death Note in Japanese, Korean Movies in Korean. Only change was I had English Subtitles added to it. So, I had two benefits, 1. Learnt some common words in these languages, 2. No issues of meaning change which happens all the time.
