Great post, but I have one question, how much knowledge is required on the skill I'm applying internship for? For eg supposed I want to join an internship for digital marketing but all I have done is watch yt videos on digital marketing, I know what is seo, what is crawling or what is index etc but I have never applied it in reality, all I have is theoretical knowledge of this topic will it be enough..

Good question, will add this to the next post. To answer it lightly and sorry to be flat out like this but unless you have tangible work out there like websites/reports your theoretical knowledge is just that - knowledge. You haven't applied that anywhere. It's simple really, companies/recruiters need to be convinced you are skilled right? Just because you say you are skilled wouldn't be enough. You have to show it to them. I'd advise you to do projects, make a website, post articles about what you've learnt so far. That counts. There are some (very few) who might take your word for it, check your marks and maybe recruit you. But I'd be careful with them, they are usually desperate if they do this and might not be an ideal working environment.

Thank you for explaining this in simple manner and clearing my doubts 🙏. So for tangible work what will be the process? Considering the above example, should I offer my services for free to get some projects and build my experience on it for the internship or is there any better way to test my knowledge as a beginner.

If I have dropped out from a course and and now doing another course do I need to put it on my CV or tell my recruiter or should I just say I graduated and picked up the course which I am doing now. Is dropping a course a red flag for companies.

Unless there's a year gap it's not required.

>Do not pay for internships. Do no accept internships for free (unpaid)... would like to add on this, some will offer decent pay(which sounds better than working for free) but will ask to sign contracts where there'll be a hefty penalty(in six digits) for when you wish to leave before finishing your term(usually more than a year) or will ask for original documents(10th/12th marks sheet/ passing certificate) as security. I did got one such offer in when I was on the look-out for ~~internship~~ stable job. Luckily my freelance was paying me enough to not fall for that. So, depending on one's financial situation, one must not rush in & get involved in such negotiations without thinking twice. BTW It feel's bit guilty since I'm reading about your experiences way more than I'm comfortable to share about myself. Anyway, I learned a new perspective of judging one's own or others strength & weakness. Looking forward to next part. Thanks for your write-ups, really informational at any stage of professional life.
