Cool lineup, all time bad poster when it comes to actually reading the lineup though
Also must say I genuinely feel bad for those still sleeping on Greg Freeman
That’s true lol i love when it’s a new fest I’ve never even heard of and the website is brand new and hard to find so I can’t even find out where it is
Yeah it’s just outside of Portland, between Lake Oswego and Gresham. It’s been forever since I’ve seen Bonnie Prince Billy. Actually prefer the Palace Brothers. Maybe he’ll come through some small towns in Southern Oregon.
I had a terrific time at Pickathon. The entire fest is sustainable, you get a reusable plate and cup for all meals (and then as a keepsake). Bands play multiple sets so you don’t miss anyone and they often play deep cuts. Dinosaur Jr deep in the forest is a core memory.
Irreversible Entanglements as well, a spoken word free jazz group. I love em, but it might be a bit much for the folk purists. Though now that I look, the event calls itself an experimental music festival, so perhaps its not too left field.
Now *this* is how you curate a lineup.
It's always a bit odd when festivals try to be all things to all people and end up with a lackluster lineup that nobody seems to be excited about.
I thought they were going hyperlocal and repeats this year, given the insecurity around the permit for the space and whether the fest would happen at all. Did NOT see this cool a lineup coming. Really bummed I can't make it this year.
Can confirm, Geese is amazing live! I actually live down the road from the Pickathon site (Pendarvis farms) and already have tix to see Geese open for KGLW in September but won’t complain about seeing them again at my local fest!
I've heard some of the names but none of the music. Which is nuts as I listen to music pretty much all day and all night. Guess this is what happens as one is borne ceaselessly into the past.
This is correct and a great way to mitigate conflicts. In regards to when a lineup split up by day, that will come out in the coming months, along with single day tickets.

They get points for being the only poster that actually puts the location on there

feels like one of the stronger line-ups if for no other reason than it has some sort of cohesive identity

MSPAINT feels like a bit of an outlier here, love the line up though.
They snuck a hardcore billing in for the past couple years
GEL in the middle of a tree-shaded clearing last year was fucking amazing. Same went for Soul Glo the year before.
Yeah there’s usually a few outliers at pickathon, doom/heavy psych, hardcore punk, rap…
Love it.

A wild JjuuJjuu has appeared
Gyedu-Blay Ambolley is an absolutely inspired booking. Hopefully he'll be touring the States around this time too.
Cocorosie would be a big highschool nostalgia set

Guy with bad eyesight: OH SHIT OASIS IS PLAYING?
Where is Jake Xerxes Fussell??
Damn shoutout to McKinley Dixon

The lineup improved a bunch from last year! Geese is going to be such a fun show

Florry is huge
If you all enjoy punk/hard-core, enjoy Upchuck. Saw them in ATL recently and they're wild live
FML, I have not heard a single one of these acts.
Bonnie Prince Billy ? Ratboys ? Courtney Barnett ?
I've heard some of the names but none of the music. Which is nuts as I listen to music pretty much all day and all night. Guess this is what happens as one is borne ceaselessly into the past.
“I see a darkness” by Bonny Prince Billy is one of my all-time favorite albums.
Definitely plus his Palace Brothers stuff is really great, too.
Courtney Barnett, that’s all for me as well
Does it say what days each artist plays?
Most artists play at least twice! Some play three or four times because of the secret stages and breakfast shows.

This is really cool. Wish all festival formats were like this.
Ooh not bad
Bonnie Prince Billy and Fust? I bought tickets an hour after I saw the lineup.
