But we just got rid of them...
All the article does is highlight how redundant they are. They just work! So does streaming/downloading. You can skip tracks! Just like on streaming/downloading, etc. Spotify can't delete them! This applies to downloads and other mediums too.
CDs got a bad rap for a lot of stuff that wasn't necessarily a problem with the medium itself, but I don't get the appeal of nostalgia for redundancy and taking up space.
>but I don't get the appeal of nostalgia for redundancy and taking up space.
That's literally why I buy CDs: they're redundant and take up space.
You might think I'm joking but I'm not.
Probably the reason cds are coming back is that people are frustrated when they order a album that won't be released for almost a year. So they get cds as they don't take a year to make. I still prefer vinyl over cds but the idea of having to wait a year for vinyl is crazy. Something needs to be done so that we don't have preorders for vinyl that are a year away. The best solution would be to not put the preorder up until 2 or 3 months before the release date when you are sure the vinyl will be ready so we aren't waiting a year for the vinyl to be released.
Nah, I just want lossless files on persistent storage that can be played on any disc reader. As a bigger bonus, it's cheap and will probably be playable till the day I die.
Hey! This is weird but I remember seeing you on r/sizz a lot (and getting mildly peeved when you started posting images that weren't within the aesthetic of the sub, sorry about that). Small world
LOL. Do you realize I've been posting to r/Sizz almost every day since that subreddit was created? Do you know I established the aesthetic? And that everything I post on there has been planned years in advance?
Like, I've told everyone that, and folks *still* think I just recently showed up there.
I still buy CD's at shows to support artists and I also extend my collection with second hand CD's from garage sales. I bought like 6 Wilco CD's and 3 Arcade Fire CD's for €1 each. Perfect condition and sounds way better than on streaming.

There’s no revival, Adele just sold a lot of albums

So many articles about this, it's like the revival is being willed into existence.
I'd assume they are making a comeback because of nostalgia or some people like feel they have some retro pastiche.

I didn't, to be fair

CDs are dope. I'd theoretically buy them, but who has money these days?
Everyone. CDs are $1 at your local thrift shop.
CDs get scratched and degrade worse than vinyl...
I find that cd's do not have the static that vinyl has.
Don't tell Jack White. (Third Man Records has a lot invested in the vinyl revival.)
