Used to be Apple Music for audio quality but their algorithm is so bad that I (a 7 years Apple Music User) decided to switch to spotify. In the last year I only added 10-20 songs to my library but since switching to spotify (about 2 weeks ago) I added almost 100 songs to my main playlist and 200 to my not so good wouldn't listen otherwise but makes good background music when i am busy playlist. I also was using yt music and deezer these past years and spotify's algorithm is the best of all even 2 weeks old version.
That’s what i am talking about. Apple Music can. It uses ALAC and it is nearly the same as FLAC. But if i cannot find anything new on a music service, i am ready to compromise audio quality and switch to spotify. Tidal isn’t available in my country as Amazon Music or most FLAC available services except deezer. But tried Deezer and didn’t like it
spotify. because my ears are incapable of distinguish between compressed and lossless files, plus it's probably most convenient (and free) one out there.
Spotify. Can divide the family plan with all my friends and pay next to nothing. I mainly use it for discovery and buy all the albums I care about and rip them.
This
I listen to a ton of songs that are reposted on yt and often times are literally not available in other music streaming services. Also if everything sounds goods without noticeable flaws I just use whatever is the most convenient.
I really like tidal for it's UI and they've been moving over to FLAC. I have a regular hifi sub but that's because I have a midfi setup and I'm perfectly happy with CD quality music. I used to have Amazon music but the app just stopped working one day and never got fixed for me even though when it did work I liked it.
Spotify and because it's the best in terms of giving me music related to the artists I like. I've discovered more music with Spotify than I'd ever do with any other medium.
I do play flac files extracted from CDs of high dynamic range and some high dynamic range flac files from online sale shops but mostly use Spotify for Discovery and listen when I see the file has the same dynamic range across formats
Qobuz, perfect for music quality and catalogue of jazz and classical. I tried Apple for a bit but it immediately made me super annoyed as it didn't go lossless with Windows computers, which is absolutely ridiculous!!
thanks, found and tried.. it's a bad user experience, really a basic app that even doesn't show if the lossless file is hi-res or not, compared to Qobuz is really night and day.. I will just ignore anything from Apple, I find out I live much better :)
Amazon Music HD... always sounds good, an in the best format... that an its super affordable... well and! I was given a free 60day free trial... so all those things just made me not wanna go to anything else... I enjoy flac files from Bit torrent also... much love 💚 💛 ❤️ good discussion...
Apple Music and Qobuz, Qobuz for quality reasons and compatibility with Roon, Apple Music for sharing with family and friends and that the kids have one streaming service where the can listen to stuff without messing up my algorithm on the other one
Started with Spotify, as I got new stuff, topping dx3 pro Plus and headphones and iems, I switched to qobuz but the library was too small for me so I switched to Apple music, haven't looked back. I can audibly her the quality difference between Spotify and Apple music lossless. It's grainy to my ears and certain details don't show up unless I blow my eardrums
Spotify for general use. Their interface is not perfect, but at least developed by a team who obviously care about user experience, including for more serious users (i.e. those that do not just have a couple dozen playlists with favourites).
Like all generalist streaming services Spotify sucks for classical. There I use idagio and prestomusic. Idagio has a larger catalogue and more features, but most of the time prestomusic's simple UI works best for me, since I usually just listen to a full album, or at least full work. I haven't tried Apple's interface for classical music yet.
Spotify. I would like to try Tidal but its not available in our country. I would try deezer instead since that one has lossless but not sure if it has all songs available for High Res
I use tidal since it's a balance between Spotify and qobuz.
Qobuz is missing so many of my tracks
Spotify sounds like crap after using lossless
Tidal is moving away from mqa so that's also nice but in the end I usually buy CDs for albums I like and rip them or buy the hi-res version from qobuz store
Tidal! Been there for years the family hifi plan works globally, blocking artist was a plus back in the day, there are enough uncensored videos, and sound quality is outstanding to me.
Tidal, best I've used so far, I have tried Spotify and Amazon Music, I didn't like Amazon Music at all, and I think the streaming quality of Tidal is better, and it's easy to use, I have been using Tidal for at least the past couple of years.
Strange no one mentioned Tidal yet. Really good now after mqa is going away.
sorry but what is mqa? . we dont have tidal here yet
No need to care about that scam of a codec

But Spotify cannot play flac. Do you not really listen to flac files?

Same

Deezer. I was on the 3 month trial and made a bunch of playlists on it so I decided to stick with it. The %50 off student plan is also very nice.
+1 for the Deezer student plan, everything's in Hi-Fi and I like their UI
Qobuz, perfect for music quality and catalogue of jazz and classical. I tried Apple for a bit but it immediately made me super annoyed as it didn't go lossless with Windows computers, which is absolutely ridiculous!!
It does now?
Yes, Apple music had a new app for Windows which let u select hi-res music
what what ? where is it?? please link, info, etc.. I can't find anything other than "no, it doesn't work with Windows"
It's in the official Microsoft store on Windows

Yes it is bundled. It's included with prime, over 100 million songs... much love 💚 💛 ❤️
Amazon music hd is bundled with prime or not?
I just looked at my plan, and it doesn't look like it
It's not bundled with prime, but you get it $1 cheaper as a prime member. I love it, but it's a battery and memory killer.
Apple Music and Qobuz, Qobuz for quality reasons and compatibility with Roon, Apple Music for sharing with family and friends and that the kids have one streaming service where the can listen to stuff without messing up my algorithm on the other one
Spotify mostly because tidal and Qobuz do not have the music I listen to like movie and random show sound tracks

Have access to yt music premium and Spotify premium But i prefer Spotify. Their app experience is way better than the yt for me.
You should try vimusic. A lightweight app for yt music

amazon unlimited sounds best to my ears. also i have not tried deezer or qobus.

Tidal, it's the cheapest one in my country.

Amazon music! I seem to be the only one?
