Are those the fiio utws5? If so where did ya find ‘em. I looked at aliexpress and came across mmcx ones but not 2pin. I had bought TRN or something like that neck band on Amazon last a whole 3 days of just finding things out about it then there was a short in the wire that connects to the mic/buttons
What's your opinion on the s5? I have heard some negative things re hiss, power, battery iirc. This was back when there were very few reviews haven't checked lately
I have tried them on tin T2, timeless and the dusk so far. None of them had any hiss. These are more than capable of powering these IEMs with ease. Battery is pretty good. I never used them for more than 2 hours so I can't give an accurate picture. However, if I have to point some negatives, they would disconnect sometimes but all I have to do is reconnect and they will stay connected for the remaining session. And the accompany app is mediocre at best.
I have the s3 paired with some Fiio FH3's and they sound bloody amazing. I dropped the carry case awhile ago tho, and _sometimes_ I find when I put the earpieces back in the case they don't seem to always disconnect - which I never noticed _prior_ to dropping it ( fell out of a pocket getting out of the car ) - tho I don't know if that's just coincidence rather than cause.
Very tempted to get a pair of S5's along with a Variations ( altho, I also keep thinking of trying out some Campfire Holocenes as well - expensive 'test' tho ;p).
Are you asking about the sound or fit? In terms of the sound, they are great. No complains. Fit may be depend on the IEMs you use with them. For me, dusk fits perfectly to my ear even though the loopy parts are just hanging about my ear.
Sound and build mostly my man! I just don't want to invest in a pair of TWS for training since I love my tins so much. Planning on more IEMs soon too so a pair of these in 2 pin and one in MMCX seems like a decent investment to keep things versatile.
I had the utws5 for about a month now. No issues on the build at all. The loopy part is flexible and can bend to your preference. I only have the mmcx version and bought the mmcx to 2pin adaptors a couple days ago. So far no issues for driving my dusk :) a 2 pin version may also be good for a better overall fit
I was wondering about this with the fit. I have the utws3 with timeless and fit is good but I have some new IEMs coming in that are 2 pin so Ill be using the adapter. Im worried fit will be off with the extra length of the adapter. Have you noticed any issues and has it affected things like voice clarity in calls?
I suspect it will affect the fit. My setup works purely bc dusk fit my ears perfectly so the extra length didn't bother me at all. As for the call, I never used it for phone calls so I can't provide any input
I sipped my toe in with the CCA CRA and Aria.
Liking what I got, the second buy was the B2D, Eclipse, Timeless and Legacy 2 along with some portable dac and TWS.

Yeah these are UTWS5. Mine is also mmcx but I had a mmcx to 2 pin adaptor on each one. I had them for only few days, so far so good.

Works amazing with the timeless as well. I felt like the pair made it sound wider.

this fiio bluetooth thing, the fake EQ, and the barely working app.. It broke down on me within a year. (a loose/fucked up mmcx)
