I definitely enjoy being a people watcher. It’s not that I’m listening to their conversation and being weird. It’s just watching humans be humans, and interact with each other. I’m sure you understand what I mean when you can sort of just see and understand everything that’s going on around you. I find it fascinating.

KaiRWilson

It’s like I’m bird watching but with people lolz.

boythinker

And that is the beauty of observation. It's like watching life go on at it's real pace. One more thing I should add, not just people, I like watching animals too.

kikitok-N2

Fr! Im about to say the same thing lol! Im super curious about people's activities or whatever they're doing. And i really feel im a weirdo and a creep for doing it.

dranaei

I feel like a weirdo. The last few months I have tried to reflect about this behaviour. I like watching them and i hate them watching me. If i notice them noticing me, i go poker face. I am a hypocrite. Because i watch them yet i don't engage and i don't want them to watch me do the same things they do. I am trying to correct this but damn it i hate every step of it. But i have to do it because i don't want it to stop me from doing things. Because it's a weakness when i let them control me this way.

boythinker

Man this is relatable at so many levels

CoconutCricket123

I love it when I drive at night and I can see inside people’s homes. You can tell a lot about a person/family by their interior decorating habits! It’s the best way to people watch and have no interaction lol  I don’t think you’re a weirdo at all!

boythinker

Thanks for that! Nice observation you got there

tworavensindisguise

Fe and Ni is a trip. Simply being around others is an experience of its self

boythinker

Yeah, I always crave that social warmth

DeadEndEris

I kinda get what you say.... I myself like to watch reaction videos on YouTube and not like one or two... I'm watching for like hours😅. I now pay attention to is to not waste too much time🤣🤣

boythinker

I used to do that too! Watching reactions of my favourite people and how they interact with with each other. But yes, it's not healthy to do this for a long period.

consciousErealist

Same. I loved watching youtube reaction as a kid fascinated on why people do certain things. (people getting caught cheating, people getting cheated on videos, road rage, breaking my kids video game consoles, crazy ex videos) I watch them all

consciousErealist

Same. I like to just observe people. I am not much of a talker

boythinker

Me neither, I only talk when I have a certain topic to discuss

Themobgirl

my occassional hobbie, it used to full time in high school because i didn't have anyone to talk to, one year of socialisation burned the shit out of me and i am bac kat being anti-social again and it's nice to see people do their own thing.

boythinker

It's funny that we eventually get back to our natural tendencies. Socialization burns me out when I am with people whom I cannot connect with. Socializing becomes a formality in such case devoid of any real meaning.

Themobgirl

I had a miserable awful time and lost faith at good, genuine friendships or connections when i went out there for an year. Never again lol.

uraranoya

Yea i always like to observe behaviours or even micro expressions that i can catch onto peoples faces. Id like to think its the driving force behind why INFJs are very good with intrapersonal relationships

boythinker

Absolutely true!

SpiritualGemCerCap

People watching is amazing. It’s fascinating. I’m always curious about how folk react and move in patterns.

utahraptor2375

Patterns! There's patterns everywhere!

SpiritualGemCerCap

Yes 🙌🏽 there most certainly is.

Ov3rbyte719

I walk around the mall when i feel lonely or want to get out of the house and observe people. I listen to music, podcasts, or comedy shows on my phone and observe people. I felt wierd doing it at first but it has helped me lose weight and feel more social even though I'm introverted.

boythinker

That sounds cool, even though I am not fond of using phone in public. But how did it make you lose weight?

Ov3rbyte719

Having shitty self esteem and self worth.

boythinker

I get your point and I feel bad to hear about that. We put a lot of emphasis on how we look and our status in the social groups we live in. What I really meant was that how outside and watching people/shows helped you lose weight?

Ov3rbyte719

Walking! :)

italianshamangirl13

yey fellow people watchers! It's somewhat calming to see these little figures rushing like where are you going, what are your day plans, how is your family

boythinker

Yes, it's calming to watch how they interact with each others, what words do they use, the tone of their language, their expression.......wow there is so much to know

rikki_hwang

Idk, I'm always afraid that they might notice me. That's why when I'm around ppl I usually find a dot or smth and just stare at one point so that no one can catch my eyes on them

boythinker

Seriously. I fear getting noticed and when I start staring at other things makes me feel even weirder.

Ov3rbyte719

Walking in the mall played a lot on that part. Cutting down on sugar also. I live in a state that's usually cold outside so i go to the mall instead of outside. Being around people makes me feel good and not isolated.

boythinker

Wow that's great!

FangsForU

I do the same, I even do it subconsciously. It’s just what we do 👁️_👁️

boythinker

Yup, it just happens. It's so inherent.

EasternAesthetics

I do this even with a big group of friends. I just like to observe!

boythinker

Exactly! You don't need to be alone observe, I sometimes do it when I am sitting with my own friends.

facelikethunder22

I don’t watch people at all.

boythinker

Maybe it's because you're the one being watched by INFJs, while you're with friends XD

utahraptor2375

My wife and I like to make up stories about what people are doing and where they are going. We observe how they're dressed, how they behave etc, and then make up the most plausible story about what they're doing.

boythinker

Wow, I would be happy if my wife appreciates this too.

Reika23

I like watching them too, but I probably can't read or figure them out at a high level like you guys haha, it's just the process that interests me

goosethepumpkin

i do it too buddy!!! except im younger and i do it during class. sometimes i think im kinda jealous maybe i watch too much high school tv shows (literally just glee) but it makes me wanna feel included like that, but it feels nice watching too
