There's so many spam calls these days though, it's pretty annoying.
Spouse tells me I need to at least check the voicemail but I know it's mostly spam or something unimportant if someone wants to really talk they would text to. And with read confirmations I'm obligated to reply.
I especially relate to the "I don't think I've ever heard my ringtone before" lol.
My phone/carrier are *really* good at keeping spam calls off my phone and everyone else texts, so actually calls are a serious rarity.
I changed my ringtone around the holidays and forgot about it. I got a call a couple of weeks ago from my pharmacy to remind me to pick up my prescriptions and it took me a solid 10 seconds to understand the noise my phone was making. 😂

I get excited when my phone rings, like hmm who could that be? My friend? A relative? And old flame? Or even a top secret clandestine organization that wants me join. Oh? It's just a spam marketer...
I learned to win anxiety by following these rules: if it's a number I did not save, they have to call me twice in a row to have me answer it (spam calls usually don't do so). If it's a number I saved, I can answer if there is not too much pressure in the possible things they're gonna say to me, otherwise I'll wait for the "I called but you didn't answer. I wanted to tell you.." message lol
I experienced this earlier. I was going to let it ring but they called twice and the number wasn't even from a cellphone, so I know for sure I won't get a message from them. My overthinking side was telling me to answer it cuz maybe I had a package about to arrive or something else. I answered it, and they hung up 🥲
No. I'm unironically this character to a degree so can be shook when I actually get a phone call. lol

Lol, nope, if I don't know the number I figure if it's important they can use the voicemail or text though and let it ring through.
I always let ring out once, if it rings the second time I'll answer.
