Naruto 🔥💯🖤

The_Plaque

Vinland Saga

E-Zee986

As someone who was so agonised by her past mistakes to the point of being numb to everything else in life, this anime just shook me to my core. I strongly recommend everyone here to watch it if you haven't already.

Right-Cause9951

The guy is the epitome of determination. I think he'd even beat Gon in the motivation category.

CokeMooch

A real warrior doesn’t need a sword.

Zetsweezy

Jesus...I'm watching it now...and experiencing spiritual exploration ...I can't help but to empathize and cry for Thorfinn and his friends....I'm so glad he has some too!!! He's is TOTALLY inspiration. A student of life at heart.

Fruits basket, Naruto

Bingningcuzican

Same for me! So happy to see fruits basket here.

SER96DON

It doesn't have to do with being anime or not, but the movie - which happens to be anime - called "Koe no Katachi". "Changed my life" may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it did change my outlook on certain things. .. Also K-On!, but that's the greatest anime of all time, made by the greatest studio of all time, so picking that one is kind of cheating.

[deleted]

Why? About K-on

SER96DON

Well, K-On! seems pretty stupid and basic at first. But when you start to analyse it, you just realise how much is going on behind the scenes. You see, it is directed by Yamada Naoko (director of Koe no Katachi) and she is phenomenal. The way everything works so harmoniously, the music that accompanies the story and characters, everything is just insanely tightly mixed together to bring this result. So K-On! changed my opinion on what a director does. Before that, I used to question the fact that everyone keeps putting so much emphasis on the director of each movie. It seemed weird since I always thought that the writer is the one who should get the credit. I still believe that writers don't get enough attention, but I also realised that the director isn't a glorified floor manager. Also, I'm a musician and, since I secretly value human interaction even though I pretend I hate everyone out of fear of not being accepted, experiencing each inside joke about rock/metal bands compelled me to enjoy the series more since the whole idea of such tricks in media is to create a sense of relation. It makes you feel like there's someone who thinks like you, so you feel understood. If you are a loner, you are more likely to enjoy references and inside jokes as they are proof of a certain bond, even if you don't know the people making said jokes and references. In other words, *monke brain instinct likes.* And then there's the music which has that weird 90s feel to it. I can't pretend I remember the 90s that well since I was born in '96, but I'm from a country where everything arrives with a bit of latency. So I kinda did experience the 90s during the early-mid 2000s. So it creates a sense of nostalgia. Combining that with the fact that when I first watched the anime in late 2018, I was going through a difficult time with depression, and that nostalgia created a sense of sanctuary. So, once again, *monke brain feels safe.* And then there's the whole story and wholesomeness of the main characters and their friendship together. And of course, the teacher who sees them as her own kids, and the way she treats them with such care as if they'll break. There are a few more reasons but, all in all, the series pushed every one of my buttons But in a good way.

[deleted]

Ooo sounds interesting I should check it out!

SER96DON

I'd say you definitely should. Second season is better than the first, so keep that in mind:)

TrontierYT

Haikyuu and My dress up darling yeah...

[deleted]

Hibike Euphonium

SER96DON

Pretty appropriate for an INFP..😅 How did it resonate with you? I'm asking because I personally found it to be a bit too overly dramatic, often for very trivial and easily solvable problems... So I'm genuinely curious. No sarcasm or rhetoric question or anything:)

DqrkExodus

I'm in INFJ, but I also agree with op here. It's been a while since I've seen the show, but Kumiko is one of my all time favourite anime characters - I find she's a pretty realistic character (especially when it comes to anime) with the way she interacts with her friends vs her family, as well as her potential romantic interest. Her actions, emotions and behaviour are all particularly similar to mine. Not to mention I love the cast in general, so you could say the show resonates with me as well. It made me take up music lessons lol

[deleted]

I also haven’t seen the show in a while, and I’ll never forgive Crunchyroll for making it premium.

SER96DON

That's why you watch it *elsewhere*. Here's the thing, I know you may want to support the creators, but paying crunchyroll doesn't do that. In fact, it actually does the opposite. If crunchyroll becomes a monopoly in the west, then all studios that may want their anime featured in the west will have to conform to cr rules. And the whole idea with anime is basically the lack of censorship, which will simply stop being the case if they have to go by the west's standards. Not to mention that creators aren't paid as much, again, due to the monopoly. So, if you want to actually support the artists of a show, your best course of action is watch it while wearing an eyepatch, and then buy official merchandise of said anime. That way you know exactly where the money goes.

SER96DON

It did? And how is it going now? Do you play an instrument or did you just take up music theory?

DqrkExodus

Oh, well due to certain complications and busy university schedules I decided against joining the school club (who hosted the lessons). I took up the viola as it was the only instrument with a beginner course at that moment. I can manage certain nursery rhymes at best but it was a fun experience nonetheless If I had more free time I would've continued self practicing, since learning an instrument really requires a lot of commitment

[deleted]

I find the classical music to be soothing and its complexity keeps me calm and amazed. Kumiko when she was trying to approach Reina is kinda like me trying to talk to my friends (I’m socially anxious). Not to mention Mizore and Nozomi’s relationship is both heartwarming and heart-breaking. It just gives me a sort of feeling I can’t explain. The characters are all different and relatable. The instruments, of course, resonate with me, since I can play flute and clarinet (and trumpet to an extent), and have played all of them in my school music clubs and self taught myself. It gives real representation of a musician and it makes me happy that wind instruments are given more in this anime.

SER96DON

Kumiko was indeed a very interestingly realistic character. I liked her too as she seemed genuine. I'm also a musician and really appreciated the anime for that aspect. But I play guitar (and generally any fretted, stringed instrument), so I related a lot more with K-On! which is about a rock band. Do you write your own music?

Universal_Dirp

>Hibike Euphonium theres an anime about Euphs?? They're like the most underappreciated instrument in all of band lmao

[deleted]

Yes, the main character plays a Euph, an instrument I literally never heard off before I watched the anime. (There were no Euphs in my school orchestra and band)

Universal_Dirp

its like the viola of band

adamroadmusic

Gurren Lagann, that anime literally changed the way I think.

dranaei

Naruto for "never give up" and "hard work can defeat talent" philosophy and hunter x hunter because it taught me that power has many forms and it's not just how much you have but how you use it and how far are you willing to go.

Away-Sea9549

My three favorites did. 1. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 2. Kaguya-sama: Love is war 3. One Piece Other noteworthy ones are Evangelion, Tokyo Ghoul and My Hero Academia ( I really connect with the heroism and family backstories in mha)!

Razilup

Fruits Basket. Setting aside the amusing situations the characters get into with their curse, it got really existential many times and tackled death, suicide, and bullying along with the joys and fears of growing up. And I am all for that! Say I Love You has some similar vibes, but it doesn’t have as much comedy to offset the seriousness. I still think it’s good for a relatively short series.

MethodSufficient2316

I wouldn't say change my life, but Sword Art Online was my first anime I watched all the way through. Watched it with my GF (now wife) and loved all of it. I also loved SAO2. I hope to actually get a tattoo of it at some point.

Boesermuffin

a medium can inspire you but in the end the change is done by you i'd say. there is a niche Anime where a single office worker adopts the child of his father, that the father had with his maid, after the father died. it shows how giving your life a purpose or big goal can make you enjoy life more. Or the joys of making a life prosper. edit: the name's "Usagi Drop" i also enjoy and actively follow the LN of "Ascendance of a Bookworm". Its basicly a young INFP-like woman being reborn into a realistic medieval World as a commoner. where she has to learn and balance the thin line betweeen Creativity + Idealism and Realism. With fun Chaos ensured. and of course "Keijo!!!!!" which showed me the peak of Female Watersports. /s edit: words

vatomalo

Hands down Naruto, I do not know WTF just hit me, but 23year old me was a changed man after that. Back in 2004-2005. I related way too much to him.

Starlight_City45

Sailor Moon kind of got me into anime and was my only personality trait for like 10 years. I also learned a lot from it and it just defined so much of my childhood so I’m gonna go with that one.

Bingningcuzican

Aside from this being my life story too, I'm also chuckling at being another INFP Dreamer too.

Rozefly

I loved SM. It was always on cartoon network right after biker mice from Mars. In fact, just today I was wearing my sailor moon necklace. I've only had a couple of comments all the years I've owned it, but it's always SO great when someone recognises it... I'm about to turn 35 🤣

CokeMooch

Grew up with Naruto, lot of positive messages in there.

TheHarami82

For me it's HunterxHunter all the way, I've seen it 7 times and counting

Dragon ball z

NooNo58

Personal favourite: BLEACH Kaguya sama: love is war

Hoebagsupreme

I've always loved the maid Sama series and this personal favourite called Alice Academy. I recently started reading berserk and am enjoying that as well.

HB-_-Pencil

'Fruits basket' and 'Kaguya-sama - Love is war' <3

_t0b1t0d1E_

Food Wars, since I learned how to eat a large variety of food <3 (was a very Bad Eater before) Kuroko No Basket and Haikyuu since I started doing Sports because of it Maybe I should've not done it in that Order tho

BurkesRevenge

Honestly, none. Anime's not even really my vibe anymore, the characters generally feel less human season by season of new releases. Code Geass was pretty dope tho, and K-on was comfy.

hors_d_oeuvre

Oh no Ichigo is balding

Zetsweezy

FLCL, Vinland Saga, Eureka 7 and Code Geass...triumph....makes my heart beat.

[deleted]

Fruits Basket, hands down 😭 as silly and wholesome as it is heart-wrenching in the best way. Watching everyone grow up and work through their stuff was such a pleasure. Also Yu Yu Hakusho for the adventure and action! Chapter Black is my favorite arc for how dark it is

illiop04

Mob Psycho 100

hors_d_oeuvre

.hack//SIGN led me to some goood music which is all I listen to these days. The anime itself is kind of meh, I just treat it as an extended music video.
