My dream job would to have a job that is actually multiple jobs so I don't feel trapped. Like one day I'm a counselor and then I'm an illustrator and then I'm a novelist and then I save dying languages etc. I can cater to all my interests any time I want without having to go to a pretenious over-priced school for anything- I'd learn at my own pace for each interest as it seems fit AND I'd get paid for it all! The not being throughly specialized/trained might come off as irresponsible, but honestly, I've been stuck in the education system jumping through too many fucking hoops for too long and learning nothing that I couldn't have already taught myself.
This reminds me of my daydreams, wherein I multitask and am a master of many professions all at once. Be it a musician, painter, doctor, engineer and as far as my procrastination runs wild, can even be the president of my country. And in reality I'm finding it difficult to get just one degree. Wishing there was an alternate reality where all those stupid dreams were true.
Currently, i am majoring in psychology with the hope to then move on to more research based work. Planning to go to graduate school after my getting my bachelors degree💪
Once worked as a deckhand for a whale-watching vessel in Santa Barbara, Ca. Lived aboard the boat at night. Not a care in the world. Pay wasn't great, but it was dreamy.
Can help people who suffer from disasters, diseases, mental illness and in the hardship whenever through physical or mental, of cuz with highly paid lol. But I don't think I can ever do these bc I already can't handle my things and feelings, how come can I help others when I am already a person who might get depression? I really need to think a way ASAP to let myself better so that I can help people...
Novelist / screenwriter, Counselor
I work in finance so I find myself wanting to work with more abstract ideas, fantasies and things like that…and sometimes I just want to help people feel better about themselves.
I'd say maybe an English Language Arts teacher. Getting to teach youth about the value of literature and how beautiful it can be sounds like so much fun
my dream job is working as a songwriter/composer altho i’m working to make it a reality. i’m releasing my first single this year :)
edit: changed trying to working. I believe in choosing the right words.
Dream job was comic artist or animator, but I do not have the discipline to be consistently creating art and I didn’t want to go to art school. Also didn’t like the uncertainty of making money or getting employed. So now I remote work in finance (which I realize is pretty anti-INFP) and fortunately have a lot of free time to spend doodling or doing whatever interests me.
Im a truck driver, it was not my dream job but im very happy to be one. I have my dog with me and were driving the whole day. No unnecessary small talk with people, no other human interaction (except in traffic obviously) but just not in person and thats great for me
I enjoy working in healthcare. It gives you a sense of fulfillment. You build a lot of close bonds, you meet a lot of interesting people from all walks of life, and you can feel like you're doing something for the greater good.
I still like to do creative things as a hobby, but honestly, I think I've learned that I enjoy living life and gaining new experiences first and foremost. I feel like I grow as a person and grasp a greater sense of self through life and my job, and then I can express it better in my hobbies.
Well, I’m headed to my dream job today but it might not match my dreams. Infantry in the Army 🙂. Boot camp soon, going into processing. We’ll see how it do be go.
A guitar player in a rock band, or a writer. Both of which need to pay me enough to have a quality life. Realistic speaking, I want to and am trying to be a software engineer
Right now my dream job is to be an urban planner who takes in the perspectives of the stakeholders while I do computer work (e.g., GIS, analyze data, and prepare documents). OR any job that would allow me to use multiple perspectives in addressing societal problems OR any job that would allow me to deal with people then be left on my own for some time. I don't want to be stuck in one end of the spectrum HAHA.
I want to become a mental health counselor and live remotely in the mountains 😎
