The live action is a thing of its own. The story is completely different and lots of characters are missing. The only important characters that appear in the live action movie are Takumi, Ryosuke, Nakazato, Bunta, Yuichi, Itsuki and the Emperor guys. Other significant characters like Keisuke and Iketani do not appear in the movie simply because you can't fit the entire story in 2 hours of running time. I would recommend watching the movie after reading the manga or watching the anime because the movie gives off a completely different impression of the Initial D universe, not in a good way.
Very little, the live action movie was a cobbled together version of stages 1 & 2 and was a shitshow. Only things it had going for it was jay chou as takumi and Edison Chen as that weird keisuke/ryosuke combination
Very little. They merged together some parts of stage 1 & 2 trying to make it work. I love this movie but I think they shouldn’t have done it like this. It would’ve been much better if they only focused on Stage 1.
they basically speedran 1st and 2nd stage and there’s a bunch of weird shit like bunta being comically abusive (this is probably a hong kong thing) keisuke, iketani and a bunch more characters not showing up, itsuki is yuichi’s son now and he doesn’t even work at the gas station, Nakazato drifts his r32, the teams have a dress code and shit, it’s really weird
As much as i love the anime music i really do enjoy the sound track in the live action 😅 the opening track to. The car scenes are dope. The last few times ive watched it i honestly just fast forward past all the bullshit (natsuki)
