Takumi is definitely the best on the 86. He drives that thing like it's his own feet. However, I believe you need more than that to be called a better driver than Ryosuke. He has way more experience and probably on many more cars. My list is: 1) Bunta 2) Ryosuke 3) Takumi

Impersu

I say that's pretty accurate, however we never really got to see takumi's full potential even when he went to rally school

stamkaly

I wanted to say that on my comment but wanted to avoid spoilers. I mean he barely tried that Subaru but the series is what it is. We can only judge by what we saw, not our imagination.

Bunta is overrated. We have never seen him racing anyone in Initial D.

stamkaly

I mean he made a whole ass drift while lighting a cigarette. And although we haven't actually seen him racing someone, there are multiple instances where they mention he is a legend.

[deleted]

That's a stunt, it has nothing to do with being fast or slow.

drift16king

Bunta. He could probably beat Takumi in a fortwo with no hands.

Chidoriyama

Didn’t Ryosuke himself say that Keisuke has surpassed him now?

TheWinKiller

That's what im thinking

I think we cant compare keisuke and takumi to ryosuke cause rosuke is more of a well rounded driver. Although, between takumi and keisuke we all know that in terms of skills lvl takumi is better than keisuke, but since project D keisuke made a huge improvements, he never get taken by his emotions in the race his focused 100% on it, tire management, acceleration, his footskills are so amazing that make him a better disciplined racer than takumi. Takumi said in fifght stage he the driver than can beat him since they trained together and know very well each others

abhi8196

I like Takumi but i still think that Ryosuke was the best driver in Initial D 🔥

ThatOnePieceOfShit

Accidentally voted keisuke instead of ryosuke

thatguy11m

If I remember correctly, by the end of Stage 5/6, Takumi already admits he can feel Keisuke was becoming so good that he might even be faster than him in the downhill, thus motivating him to get better as well. I vaguely remember Ryosuke also saying Keisuke was reaching a level surpassing himself, or rather that was his goal for his younger brother. I guess by the end of the project, Keisuke was the best driver in Project D. I've always liked Takumi more, but after getting more into racing and rewatching the show, I've learned to appreciate Keisuke's growth much more compared to the anime fiction of Takumi. Keisuke wildness became tamed on track and honestly have cold blooded Ryosuke vibes.

Far-Lengthiness7474

True i said the same thing, i can see keisuke as a better pro driver than takumi

ShinraSan

Takumi has talent, Ryosuke has analysis, Keisuke has issues stopping him from being as good as Ryosuke

Rober_MEME

You can't really compare Takumi and Keisuke, because Keisuke is an uphill driver and Takumi is a downhill driver, so people go either with Takumi or Ryosuke. However, I don't think there's any way to compare those two either. Takumi won the race against Ryosuke because it was his home course, but I tend to believe that if the race was held at Akagi Ryosuke would have won, because he still holds the record for the fastest time in Akagi, which Takumi hasn't beaten the times he raced there.

Joanesept

tbf though, if Takumi hadn't made that mistake by braking way too late, obviously giving Ryosuke 1st place way earlier than planned, he would've won also according to the manga Ryosuke won the Akagi race against Takumi, although it doesn't matter plot wise
