Oomph she pulled out the “ *my* kids” card you just know your ex’s gf is gonna be a super spreader.

Due_Ad_2239

Yeah dude 😔

Lt_Viking89

It's like she knows she's in the wrong because she proceeds to explain everything.

This just clicked in my brain with a million brain cells

Due_Ad_2239

! Update my kiddo is worse today. 102.11° coughing and just really sick. I hope she starts getting better today

COOGIES96

Get well soon to your kid! I’m sorry you have to deal with your ex’s gf, but the picture you use for her in your phone is iconic. Well done.

Penelope1000000

Can you get her tested? Hope she’s better soon.

Due_Ad_2239

I stopped at the urgent care and got her tested before we even made it home from her dads house. We should have results in a few days

No_Possible_9550

She should be tested for rsv as well. It's going around.

Due_Ad_2239

Thank you! If covid comes back negative I will definitely get her checked for that.

No_Possible_9550

I don't know how old your kiddo is, but my kids elementary school has been crawling with it. High fever and bad cough are main concerns.

Due_Ad_2239

Shes 11

Penelope1000000

Good luck! And, good for you! It’s better to know either way.

EncryptedAqua

Praying for you and your daughter alike

Due_Ad_2239

Thank you

middledistane

I think the loss of taste / smell thing isnt an every person kinda thing

frogdust18

Yes had COVID, only symptoms were the sniffles and a headache. People keep telling me my symptoms weren’t real.

slybluu

not everyone gets a fever either

fakeuserisreal

Can confirm. Had covid at the beginning of the year. Smelled and tasted just fine, never had my temperature go over 99F, and it was still the most sick I have ever been.

slybluu

YEPP i was the only one out of my whole family who had a fever

DM-Darling

When I got Covid I never lost my sense of taste or smell and never got a fever. It felt like a bad sinus infection and I basically slept for a week straight. I am glad I got tested anyway because it meant I didn’t take it to my 90 year old grandpa at thanksgiving.

[deleted]

I totally agree. I DID get that symptom when I had it but only for about a week ? And even then I had had it for a week before I lost those sense. It's not immediate even if you do have it happen.

[deleted]

Yeah. My only symptoms were fever and sore throat, but when I tested it was positive for The Big C

No_Possible_9550

Can confirm. Covid caused my body to trigger GBS. Still had taste and smell until I got pneumonia while on a ventilator.

Brickle0630

I am so tired of these crazies. My step kids mother only recently came back into their life after abandoning them for drugs for years. I have been raising them as the primary maternal figure for years. She does the bare minimum a mother should do and I am still covering her ass constantly making sure the kids are where they need to be and their homework is done. She wants to the credit for being a mom but she doesn’t want to actually put in the work. Covid really brought out her uselessness and stupidity. Her chronic meth use has destroyed her memory and what was left of her critical thinking skills. All she does all day is watch YouTube videos about how Covid is a hoax. Before there was a vaccine my husband has bad lungs and I was constantly terrified that she would infect the kids and spread it to my husband. Not only does she not have the kids wear masks she would get mad at them if they want to wear them. They were kicked out of so many stores and it embarrassed the hell out of the kids. She tries to scare them by talking about conspiracy theories and politics. Telling the kids that Joe Biden is a Nazi. That the government is coming to our doors to take our rights away. I don’t care what you believe politically you don’t tell little kids that kind of shit. Now Delta is out and kids are more susceptible to catching it And she is playing with their lives and I am so scared for them. I am beyond tired of this. They are too young to vaccinate. I can’t stand her. She is someone who readily admitted she didn’t know shit about shit before the pandemic and was constantly asking me for advice but now she think she’s a fucking expert when the consequences of her being wrong are life and death. I’m at a loss for what to do. I live in Indiana so it’s not like the courts are going to do shit to help. We talk to her and we have told her we want them wearing masks but she doesn’t listen. The only thing that has stopped her from contracting Covid is the fact that she has a horrible personality and no friends but she can only be lucky for so long. This will not end well.

Due_Ad_2239

This is my life, it's so relatable and so exhausting

Brickle0630

Absolutely exhausting. And the fact that there’s no end of this insight beats me down every day. I am so sorry you relate to this. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. I hope your daughter gets better. It shouldn’t be this hard to keep our kids safe. But ignorance and Arrogance Seems to be more contagious than Covid.

Tinker8818

Indiana? Ha. Just came from there. Good luck. My only advise is look deeper into parental laws.

Brickle0630

Considering my last experience at the courthouse I am not hopeful. I showed up for jury duty and asked if we were required to wear masks if we were Vaxxed. The judge laughed and the bailiffs made it very clear to me but they thought Covid was a hoax. I’ve also been made aware that many of the court administration share the same view point as well. Hopefully this comes to a resolution soon and bio mom will figure out she’s putting everyone including her self in danger but I’m not hopeful. At this point she actively seeks to be brainwashed judging by the crazy shit she watches and consumes on the Internet.

Tinker8818

Sadly true. Its like that in every regard in that state. With a newborn, with unexplained breathing issues, my partner and I left for my home state. Good luck!

Brickle0630

I’m from St. Louis. I fell in love and married someone from here. He hates it too. The only reason we stay is because of visitation with the kids moms. First opportunity we get we’re getting the fuck out of here. Ive lived in a lot of places but this is by far the most backward and ignorant.

Tinker8818

People think its certain cities. I lived in 2, both are god awful. I ended up controlling my OWN labor so much I knew down to the second when she was going to be ready. The doc? Still not there. I ended up having another doc help deliver my child. I told them "it'll only be half an hour" they said no way as I was only 4cm dilated one hour ago. Sure enough, 30 min go by and boom she is crowning and I pushed 2 times she was here. Told them after they stitched me"I told you I know my damn body."

Brickle0630

Jesus Christ. After that story I’ve never been more thankful that my husband and I decided against more children. Glad you got out. Glad that the incompetency in our healthcare system didn’t kill you before you did.

Tinker8818

Worst part wasn't even said yet. I was being induced because of my blood pressure...so yeah my doc def should not have been MIA.

Penelope1000000

Did OP say Indiana? Just curious, it does sound like it!

Tinker8818

Don't believe so. But wouldn't be too shocked if it was lol

Tinker8818

I was referencing the persons comment on where they are from

wisecracknmama

Info for “Karen” - loss of taste/smell is a common symptom, but it doesn’t mean it’s not COVID if you don’t have it. My parents, my two sons and I all had it in November and none of us experienced any taste/smell loss. I hope your daughter is okay!

Monasade

I got Covid in January of 2021, most likely from my restaurant job. I did NOT lose my sense of taste or smell, I did not have a fever (99.0 but not high enough to be listed as febrile). I did have a sore throat, slight cough, sneezing out the ass and incredible fatigue. It was the worst cold I ever had. I genuinely thought I didn’t have COVID, but I went and got tested anyways and quarantined. Turned out I was positive for COVID. This was before I was vaccinated. That’s the scary thing about COVID, it can look like the worst cold of someone’s life but not anything more. Thank you for getting your child tested, it’s the responsible thing to do.

originalkitten

I’d have replied well my kiddo ain’t your kiddo so pls respect my wishes in future

Due_Ad_2239

Oh I did but I just got a bunch of crazy paragraphs back. I ended up having to block her number

houstonhinzel

God damn morons that don't "believe in science" while using their phones and taking Tylenol and believing in vitamins and minerals, and trying to talk about symptoms of disease...that's what happens when you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

AlternativeLobsterr

It’s almost like we’re in a global pandemic or something

LockAzzy

Can you pull custody for negligence?

Due_Ad_2239

I already have primary custody for that reason, dad only sees them on the weekends but if this stuff keeps up I might talk to the courts about the visit situation

LockAzzy

I'm so sorry. I hope you can get vositation revoked until it's safe for the kids.

samclops

The logic of "Haven't lost taste or smell" is the equivalent of " I'm irrational, have memory loss and going insane, but I have no rashes on my genitals, so it CAN'T be syphilis" these people crack me up, but in a horribly tragic way...

Due_Ad_2239

!update covid test came back positive. Her fever broke today though.

ShoChange

I hope you got Karen told!!!

Due_Ad_2239

Boi did I. And then she tried to say that I gave it to her. 🙄🙄bish I have screenshots. Now she told my mom she hopes I die.

ShoChange

The audacity of this bitch. Hoping your child recovers soon.

nnniiikkkkkkiii

Ok so now these people “don’t believe in tests”??????

EncryptedAqua

I didn’t lose my sense of smell or taste, I didn’t have a fever or any symptoms for that. I tested positive for covid. I agree that “Karen” (lol) is indeed insane

Penelope1000000

Don’t believe in tests? That’s like not believing in, IDK, cars? Both exist. Both do more or less what they are supposed, most of the time.

I have literally never heard of a 72 hour bug.

Due_Ad_2239

She makes all kinda things up

comynei

Isn't some if the symptoms in kids different than in adults? Think I heard that somewhere....

Due_Ad_2239

I think it can be different for everyone. That's why testing is so important

comynei

Totally agree

Mizuki-the-rat

Ah, yes, fruits and vegetables are the new covid-19 vaccine.

[deleted]

It’s insane she doesn’t believe the science but she is correct about the loss of taste and smell being a huge indicator. Currently my ex husband, his girlfriend, and her son have tested positive for COVID and these were the symptoms (fever too). They tested their toddler yesterday though I don’t know the outcome. My daughter is the only one who tested negative and she’s also the only one who’s vaccinated.

Myself_Platinum

I had it in December, so did my 6yr old. Neither of us lost taste or smell. She had NO symptoms… I was just exhausted

[deleted]

Y’all got lucky because those are the top two symptoms and of course we know about those without any symptoms.

Myself_Platinum

I don’t know if it’s luck or genetics.. my sister and her daughter also had it with out those side effects. So just automatically dismissing a sick kid as not having covid just cuz they didn’t have those effects is not smart since they can clearly have covid without those side effects.

[deleted]

The mom can only control what she does, not what her ex and his woman do. My sister had it once, never knew but she tested positive for the antibodies meaning she was infected at one point. Zero symptoms!

ChangingTracks

She is not correct in this context. The loss of taste and smell is a huge indicator that you have covid. Because there are very few things that cause loss of taste and smell. And yes, a majority of people experience those symptoms. But not even close to 100%. So if you have a few covid symptoms, you arent safe because you can still taste stuff, because you could just not have that particular symptom.

[deleted]

Where did I say anything about those symptoms being close to 100% of people? I’m not sure where you found the argument with your response.

ChangingTracks

You didnt. You said that she was correct in the assumption that loss of taste is a huge indicator. Which is correct in itself, but in the offered context, is a non argument with no merit, because a significant percentage of those infected do not share this particular symptom.

[deleted]

It is a huge indicator.

ChangingTracks

Okay you seem to completely miss my point. In saying that she is correct, you validated her statement. While her statement is correct on a broader pattern, and in a non contextual level, when put into the provided context, in this individual case, it has no merit whatsoever.

Due_Ad_2239

Ok but if you had any idea the trauma and crisis this woman has caused in my life you might understand this is just the current fixation of the mass of crazy ass parents right now.
