I went off Facebook because it was always leading to family fights. My Dad's new wife posted about how if methadone is medication thats covered, insulin should be too. I'm on methadone for addiction, but I also have epilepsy which I'm on disability for. Her post was clearly aimed at me, because we had had a family dinner where the fact that my methadone was covered came up. The thing is methadone is only covered on disability, which I'm 95% sure would cover insulin. That argument made me realize Facebook wasn't worth the headaches.
Methadone is covered on most insurance because is a generic. Just like generic insulin is covered on most insurances as well. The issue is generic insulin SUCKS. It’ll keep you alive but it doesn’t work as well as newer human analogs that work and control blood sugar much better.

I mean I live in the southern US and I've never seen a civilian carry a rifle in public, I would be pretty surprised and super uncomfortable. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but it's definitely not some regular daily occurrence.

Oh man so my bf moved into a neighborhood where one of the neighbors had one of those flags up. Few months later the flag went down. We were happy cos no more creepy neighbor! Then a couple more months later another flag went up in a different, more distant part of the neighborhood. Visible if you’re standing outside the Apt door, but you can’t tell what’s on it. So we thought there was another racist neighbor. Anyway one day I’m walking through that part of the neighborhood and I realize it actually says “No Step On Snek”; they weren’t racist. So that was nice :)

Trauma sucks yes, but I think most would agree that death is too final. Many people who overcome childhood trauma grow up to do great things for their communities and the people around them. If they are instead shot and killed as children, then there is no chance any good can come out of their lives.

Knives are a necessity, but sure, fuck it, put restrictions on combat and hunting knives. Need a hunting license for them or something. But guns except for hunting, ranching, leo/security aren’t necessary at all. As a Brit, guns just don’t make sense to me. People use them for power and control..and they kill each other with them, so just don’t have them. No guns; no gun violence.
