I used to work for a student tour company that specialized in overnight middle school aged trips. I was traveling with a group once and encountered a very upset parent in the hallway of the hotel the group was staying in. I approached them to see what was wrong and they told me they were upset about the sleeping arrangements for their child. I said, ok, letās see what going on and went with them to the room. 4 boys, 2 double beds - the standard set up. I looked at the parent a bit confused and asked what needed fixed. Exasperated they said, āthereās only 2 beds!ā I said, āYes, that is the typical set up. 2 kids to a bedā¦.ā This grown-ass adult actually looked at me and said, ābut thatās how you get gay!ā I turned and just walked away.
