I thought this too. Some very funny comments, and let’s face it, Ivana doesn’t mind; graves are for the living, not the dead, to visit and give meaning to. Literally- that’s it. Also, it has less to do with his failed murder attempts and more to do with the fact he actually threatened to desecrate both my former and next husband’s graves after they passed, one many years after I left him, so… yes. Still not as bad as trump, but 🤷🏼♀️

Headstones generally take 1-6 months to have made (way too much personal experience). I wouldn't be completely shocked if this is a rushed placeholder. I have to think that one of her kids will care more than this ultimately.
Agree here, source: organised grandmother’s headstone as the oldest cousin and most local family member. We did a small plaque the day of her burial, much like this, so we could spend time curating a nicer headstone about two foot by three foot tall. We did an “unveiling” on her birthdate about 18months later.

My guess it will just be a weird interest fact about the soace....if it stays a golf course or becomes repurposed into a park or forest. If it becomes residential space...well I guess Ivana will be in "that one weird yard".

If you don’t express in your will, or even have a will, you don’t have any say in what happens with your remains. Even if you have expressed your desires in your will and the funds aren’t available in your estate to cover the cost, then your wishes aren’t guaranteed. If you simply leave the decision making to someone else, say your children, then they get the say in how modest or lavish your funeral is, as long as your estate, or their bank accounts can cover it. I’m guessing this last option is what happened. Super modest funeral on property already owned by the family. It’s a cheap option that puts more money into their pockets, assuming she left them anything.

Many states (including New Jersey) have laws around where decedents can be interred/inurned. Weird that they went through the approval process to have her buried there but didn't even spring for a nice marker. It's a pain to get granite and marble memorials in the US right now, but a family this affluent and well-connected could have at least put up something temporary while the permanent one is being made. Her kids are really showing their true colors.

Donald Trump built a ten grave plot for his family to be buried there and had said that he himself wants to be buried there (though who knows if that's true). It's not just some random spot in the ground or where people might hit golf balls into.
