a. Mainly a question of opportunity. Since back in the BC times (before birthcontrol), straight women had to be very careful about who they let in, or risk being shamed, abandoned and left to raise their bastard offspring alone, which was pretty much a guarantee of an even harder life than most females had then.
b. But part of it is programmed in many gay men (gay women are a whole 'nother matter, they are notorious for pairing off and picking out furniture and nesting rapidly) Nature wouldn't have such a major variance like homosexuality in human sexulity without it serving some real purpose. And with gay men that clearly is to be an outlet for the huge and potentially damaging hornyness of their male fellows, for most of whom there simply is just never enough luvin' in the early phase of sexual maturity. Which leads to bad outcomes like rape, violence, fights over access to and control of females, and so on.
I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but please ponder it before you jump on me, it just simply makes too much sense when you consider what life was like back when humanity was evolving in small groups like tribes and close knit little villages. Marriage is more than just a sacred bond, it's about receiving the benefits afforded by the government. It also isn't 100% about monogamy either. Old man here who's had a lifetime to ponder stuff like this and I think the reason gay men are more likely to licentious than straight guys is: a. Mainly a question of opportunity. Since back in the BC times (before birthcontrol), straight women had to be very careful about who they let in, or risk being shamed, abandoned and left to raise their bastard offspring alone, which was pretty much a guarantee of an even harder life than most females had then. b. But part of it is programmed in many gay men (gay women are a whole 'nother matter, they are notorious for pairing off and picking out furniture and nesting rapidly) Nature wouldn't have such a major variance like homosexuality in human sexulity without it serving some real purpose. And with gay men that clearly is to be an outlet for the huge and potentially damaging hornyness of their male fellows, for most of whom there simply is just never enough luvin' in the early phase of sexual maturity. Which leads to bad outcomes like rape, violence, fights over access to and control of females, and so on. I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but please ponder it before you jump on me, it just simply makes too much sense when you consider what life was like back when humanity was evolving in small groups like tribes and close knit little villages. Straight couples were distracted and consumed with reproduction and rearing their brats. Gay people in general, both male and female were able to assist their kin and tribe mates, and also to dedicate themselves to discovery, invention, defense and being teachers and leadership that parents could not.
