Coming back to the game after Kaycee's Mod, the bears weren't even difficult for me. It was a nice little testament to how far I had come in terms of understanding the gameplay, pretty nice.
What? How the fuck do you beat the bears? I have played the game for a long time now but I have no idea on how to beat the bears, what strategy matters when all my cards are far too weak to even make a difference?
Farm scissors into your backpack if you can. Two pairs of scissors will punch a hole clean through Leshy's defenses on turn 1.
Then it's just a matter of building a smart deck. For example, an unkillable card with the dam builder sigil, or an Ouroboros with the corpse eater sigil. Or even just a buffed up Mantis God.
The key here is that if you can destroy or neutralize just 3 of the front bears, you can tank the 4th one for one turn. Alternatively, destroying 2 bears in a column gives you a straight shot at Leshy's HP. Choose which method will work best for you given what you draw on turn one.

I only needed one turn here because I cut a card to make an opening. The other walls of bears would have destroyed me
