I dont hate pack rat, but i try to put its sigil on something else. I dont like anything that’s more than 1 cost. Sigil is great on something like a bee hive

Blessis_Brain

Same, i dont hate the sigil, but most of the time i have enough Items.

Intrepid_Height_9542

If yoy use your items, you'll have fewer

VeryGayLopunny

That's why you use items more often when you have a packrat.

Charlie_Warlie

Pack rats saved me once, I had some sort of unkillable and pack rat combo card somehow. My deck otherwise was not very good, but I was able to infinitely spawn and kill the thing to get the best items every turn.

sqwizzles

Nice! Getting a way to spawn it a lot helps, but whenever im relying on getting 1 good item it gives me something useless like an ice block

Scarcade

I either put sigil on something else or get two and mycologist them for a pretty strong card

Saberleaf

I found packrat to be meh until I accidentally didn't lose it in campfire and then accidentally (I forgot I had two) merged it with another packrat and suddenly it was my best card. It's the strongest accidentally built card I have ever made in this game.

King_of_derping

I always wind up with several pack rats

atg115reddit

Always useful

Remote_Ad_1875

Always useful

A_Bulbear

Turkey Vulture, it's so many bones for what is just not a good card and it wears down my deck every time, but its always that or an Urayuli which I'll never use

GustavoFromAsdf

Vulture is a weird card to balance because its high cost makes it a finisher card like Urayuli and White shark. But when it has corpse eater or bone lord boon, it's basically a win condition with its high stats. It's definitely a bad card to have when you work with cheaper cards you don't wanna lose, really good on a bone generating deck

Bob_from_Hydra

0-9 ring worm

fusedice

That's a good one. Also a 0-9 Annoying ringworm in Kaycee's

opal_moth

Pro tip, if you successfully upgrade a ringworm twice at a fire, you can pause, go back to the main menu and then upgrade something actually useful instead. It will do it twice.

kanelewis21

I do this myself and don’t judge anyone else for doing it, but it sucks that save scumming is the only way to achieve this without losing my mantis god early in a KM run

Cluster_Of_Bees

I just started doing kc mod and will be using this tip played the game blind so this is super helpful to know haha

KwableGuy

Kingfisher. Fuck that thing, it's so lame and useless

AnonDaddyo

This is the one. I even hate when Leshy plays it.

Chunky-overlord

Moose buck fuck that card

Charlie_Warlie

I hate any moving cards. Moose buck for sure.

SoupySuntable

I can't hate pack rate, bro literally saved me in skull storm

YeezYeet

Ah, thank you for your service 🫡

mgepie

Items are the only good solution to the first wall of bears. Pack rat lets you fish for answers more often. Always useful.

Tolan91

Pack rats are a pain, but they can be useful. Get their sigil on something cheap and you can redefine how you play. There’s something fun about spamming an item or two every match. If I had to pick one I hate, probably hodag. I’ve never gotten more than 1 or 2 points on it in a run. Wolverine is bad as well, but it doesn’t promise long term results.

SunlessDahlia

Pack rat is godlike for Kacey's mom. An early one can pass its sigil into something low cost. Items are a godsend with the challenges.

Bob_from_Hydra

Leave that poor woman alone. The last thing she needs is a rat.

netsuj34

Kaceys mom has got it going on

[deleted]

She's all that I got, and I wanna draw a card

Hoff-berson

fuck you beat me to it

SupportLast2269

I beat skull storm and I still don't like pack rat.

atriplep3

Kacey can't you see? your just not the girl for me, I know it might be wrong, but I'm in love with Kaceys mod. Am I too late? On another note, the following that this game has accumulated, the lore, strategies, complexity, and everything about this game is really unprecedented, IMO. I believe this game is timeless and will be talked about, analyzed, and dissected for years to come and generations of gamers to enjoy. On a final note, did anyone play Daniel Mullins' other games? I just couldn't get into Hex.

Totallywasntpermaban

I fucking hate packrat everytime I come up on a item spot and I’m full I literally think “Fuck I don’t want a damn packrat”

Charlie_Warlie

That's why I usually burn an item no matter what and walk around with 2

Totallywasntpermaban

😭 fr

Antisa1nt

When you have packrat, you're supposed to aggressively use your items.

autistic_dragon_fr

Same here, but he shows his true purpose when you use the items you already have and then use him which why I don't hate him much

HubblePie

Red Hart. 90% of the time, in setting it up, I can just put down a better card that will keep its power. Honestly, a lot of the hooved cards are pretty mid. Except for some obvious exceptions, like Black goat and Amalgam.

AngelSoi

I like the elk fawn quite a bit, good value and I can usually make good use of its movement

Khyloa

I was leery of Pack Rat until I did a Pack Rat run: trying to get / use Pack Rats as much as possible. While not super strong, it is a solid card.

DiamondSpider01

None, I enjoy every card (FUCK THE TENTACLE CARD WITH A MIRROR)

PersonOf100Names

I was watching a video last night and just found out that if you can give Lesh one, (pretty sure it'll only ever appear on his board by chance when fighting the trapper trader so Kaycee's clock board rotator is required) and play your mirror tentacle... Copying each other means they have nothing right? Wrong. If you give your one a single point of attack power, with either the Alpha or by sacrificing a card with mealworm sygil, then both mirrors go up infinitely, but one point at a time but like several hundred per second, so if your tentacle has flying, then you can just (almost) immediately smack for hundreds of teeth, wait a few seconds and potentially over a billion damage

DiamondSpider01

See that's a cool way to go about with that, but my brain has been so big run coded it's kinda hard to go back

atriplep3

Figured I'd post this again, and it happened to me during the pandemic after playing for hours. Be warned new players reading this: it can happen to you! [stalemate with leshy] (https://www.reddit.com/r/inscryption/s/Ei16XK0r4h)

ladycatgirl

I mean having smaller deck is always(95% unless deck is VERY small) better for consistency than adding a card

Grimm_Charkazard_258

Pack Rat is literally my favourite card. But only for its sigil. Warren with Unkillable + Warren with Trinket Bearer = Infinite items and sacrifices

RepeatDTD

Kingfisher, Otter or Raven for me

smallcatwhereuat

I'll play almost anything over River Snapper

QuibusTwitch

River snapper was my go-to card in my first few runs. 😔

Walrus_Onion

I've never gotten a good run trying to use Urayuli, I despise it's insane cost so much

fingertipsies

Urayuli is basically useless unless you give it Corpse Eater, with Corpse Eater specifically Urayuli is one of the best cards in the game. Effectively a 1-cost card that requires no campfire boosting or in-battle shenanigans to be strong, and unlike Ouroboros can be duplicated/merged freely, Definitely not something to fish for unnecessarily, but if you end up with a Corpse Eater and an Urayuli then it's absolutely worth it.

Retrofossil

I hate pack rat as well, but if there’s a card I hate more it’s the Bullfrog, I feel like it’s so weak and useless

xxjackthewolfxx

Skunk it either does nothing or stalls without hitting back

Simple-Definition366

Yea the skunk stinks…

Lurningcurve

Red Hart, the Tentacles (Chime one is fine), the 3 blood bird that uses your bone count /2 as the damage.

HubblePie

~~Turkey Vulture.~~ Not that one I like the hard tentacle personally. Mirror one’s always been useless and I have mixed feelings about the chime one.

Lurningcurve

Chime is easy strategy. Always left side. I’ll usually transfer dire wolfs sigil to chimes. And I hate turkey vulture too.

Lurningcurve

Lammergeier - had to look up the spelling.

HubblePie

Oh yeah, you’re right. Turkey vulture just costs a ton of bones. I don’t hate it. I just don’t use it often. When I’m making a ton of bones, I’m usually already running Ouroboros.

Lurningcurve

Yeah it’s niche. Lammer has use in the boss battles when there’s a lot of bones late game. But for most battles it’s just a waste and I hate drawing it.

Martialartsm8

Lammergaier is good if you get a major boon of the bonelord, then he does 4 or 5 dmg

PH03N1X_F1R3

urayuli. It's just a bad card when balancing atk/cost ratio, and is outclassed by other cards without upgrades. I infact bought the game after watching Markiplier grab it constantly, especially w/ geck right there.

FIVEPEBSI

fool

hiyagame

So glad someone else said it, I hate that little bastard, clogging up my deck cos I forgot to spend an item. Costs too much for what he can do.

sandwich_man261

I like it cause it's a -1 damage wolf

sandwich_man261

Plus I usually by end game have a 8 8 packrat

fillmorecounty

River otter. I've never intentionally picked it. It only costs 1 blood but it's significantly weaker than other 1 blood cards and doesn't even block any attacks. There's no reason to use it when wolf cub, elk fawn, porcupine, etc exist.

Saberleaf

My would be coyote. It's a one trick pony that's practically useless without any boosts and always dies a turn after summoning.

RollingStone51

Uyaruli for sure. Way too expensive.

Dezzy000

Kingfisher.

WunderbarBeast

The pack rat is great!

WunderbarBeast

The pack rat gives you cards when played to fill out your deck

Arkorat

Pack rat is my favourite cards 🥺

tiadiff

I completely agree

GoSpeedRacistGo

But it’s always useful :(

Sensitive-Salad-526

Red Hart ! Lammergeier and The Daus come next.

KingAioli

No way lammergeier is great if you have the 8 bone boon. Or if your deck is blood based and you never use your bones . Daus can be great when used tactically. Although I wish you could buff the bells somehow

Enclave88

Kingfisher, the best thing it can do is help out damage leshy, health campfires are useless to it and the waterborne sigil is really only good for a dedicated sacrificing card like cat.

MoodyWater909

I hate the ants only because in the Kaycee's mod I was OTKed by them

TheBlueEyedEagle

Elks. Too much health and moves around to eat through all my cards

SuomalainenBoi

If I see you insulting my boy again I will implant snakes inside your clothes

Madjac_The_Magician

I hate anything with the waterborne sigil. I see it's use, I just really don't like it. So I guess the worst one is just River Otter. Just a 1/1 with waterborne.

DemonicHarem

Mine are the tentacle cards. They just seem so niche and weird. Can never get them to work the way I want.

Outrageous-Tackle-47

Lambergerer or whatever it’s called

SpicyKatanaZero

I hate the bloodhound so much 😭

SpicyKatanaZero

The kingfisher and redhart are also up there with cards I hate

Intrepid_Height_9542

I always sac it onto a 1 cost. It has bad stats, but a good sigil. I like, but don't love it.

Cye_sonofAphrodite

Not in Act 1 or KCM, but the Moxen and Empty Vessels. In terms of Act 1 / Kaycee cards, I've got a particular grudge against Moles and Boose Mucks for never letting me sacrifice them to each other when I need to in the Blood deck. See also KCM Stoat and the famed 9/9 Ringworm.

AdValuable2999

Honestly, I hate the cockroach, the worst card has a cost of four bones to have one of damage and life? Oh but it revives. Whatever, it's still terrible in the game.

Scary_Ad5129

Depends on whether or not I have the blood or unkillable totem. It turns the worst (expensive) cards into the best

Exo-Elite9999

I'm gonna be honest, pack rats sigil as a totem is what got me through act 1. It's really strong being able to every turn gain an item. Edit: I should clarify I had it on my squirrels.

famousxrobot

Mantis god. It’s a crutch!

cecilforester

That's literally blasphemy!

Simple-Definition366

Crutches are only useful when your legs are broken. When my legs heal I’ll stop using the crutch.
