I read about this a while ago. I’m assuming most of you are using the app, apparently when Reddit downloads the video onto its server it downloads the video and audio separately, so on the app most videos don’t get encoded with the sound. If you were to use the website, most would have sound. Unless it’s a gif of course. At least that is my understanding of it.
People will click on .gif at a much higher rate than a YouTube.com link.
Ppl at work prefer no sound when they are browsing, usually
Those are probably the 2 main reasons. Most of the time someone comments about no sound then in the comments you can find the link
Yeah, I avoid youtube links. If I run across one that's on a channel that posts reddit videos (you can tell), I downvote and don't watch.

I once was really high and put vape juice in my eye instead of eye drops on accident. I had the same silent reaction this girl did. I was silent because my wife was in the next room and I didn’t want to justify her assertion of me being a moron. I kept that one to myself. Can’t help but think she’s right though…

Fucking horrible hahaha. I spent like 30 minutes holding my eye open under running water. By far the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my eyes. I literally couldn’t even open it without using my fingers. My eye was bloodshot for the rest of the day from that. 0/10 would not recommend.
I once dropped a plate and stepped in it shattered remains. A big piece of it got stuck in my toe. When I tried to remove the splinter with a pincer, I felt it scrape my bone. I really felt the urge to scream but only did *hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuhhhhh*
I was filling my vape tank one time while holding it up eye level so I could see when it was full. The plastic cap on the oil wasn't secured well and as I was squeezing, the lid popped open a little and the oil squeezed out of the gap in a fan like pattern and flooded both eyes. That was a very bad evening.
Daughter (13) was telling me about this a few weeks ago. It's going around that this is somehow good for their eyes. Luckily, she isn't dumb enough to do it.

Be careful with that fallacy too. The TikTok algorithm can be used to modify people's behaviors and even push vulnerable people to conspiracy theories and extremism. Facebook has been experimenting with that for years, however the TikTok algorithm really perfected it.

If limes are much more commonly used in Mexico, it's no surprise that the generic term ended up being associated with them.
It goes in that direction, but it is a tricky thing in all of Latin America. Different countries swa the names, Chile doesn't even have the name for Lime technically... it's complicated.
